  • We’re walking all 214 Wainwright Fells in the Lake District and today we’re doing the Grasmoor Loop, taking in a whopping 6 Wainwright fells, Whiteside, Hopegill Head, Grasmoor, Wandope, Whiteless Pike and Rannerdale Knotts!
If you’re liking our accommodation, we’re also staying in an amazing cottage with the most stunning views, this wonderful place was used as a location in the BBC drama, The A-Word, a perfect base to climb lots of fells and somewhere to rest after a long day’s walking!

Another lovely video, could I ask where you got the map of the Fells that you mark off too.

Hi Glenn, firstly thanks so much for your kind comment, glad you enjoy our hikes. The featured map is called The Fir Tree Aerial Map of The Wainwright Fells of the Lake District. We bought this map in the Lake District, however, you can order it off Amazon too. Kind regards, Simon and Elaine

Phew what a days walk. You brought back some memories for us doing the Wainwrights and this same route several years ago. Coming down Whiteless Pike was tough on the knees…we had loads of snack breaks coming down! Rannerdale Knotts does have a route off with a stone staircase which leads down to a tiny car park which we’ve used a couple of times, maybe the path was hidden from your view at the summit. Great video again, thanks Simon & Elaine.

Great hike, Simon as Elaine, brilliant t views. Have yet to do the big ones but Rannerdale Knotts is definitely one of our favourites. There is a straightforward route down from the top on the Crummock side which we did But the valley side is just stunning. And when the bluebells are in bloom it's magnificent. Regards, Ashley

The mountains were so good and green! The journey there seems so exciting yet very fun because you get to breath a fresh air, you get to experience the beauty of the mountains field with so much greeny things related to nature! The view from afar were so breathtaking as if it's just a tiny things under! The world is healing indeed despite all the architecture that are mostly the things who ruined the nature first! The architectures were so beautiful too but the consequences were a bit much bigger! We must always protect what is most important! Have a nice day!

You guys had a good old time there Simon. Steep at first and gnarly but some nice plateaus to chill on too. Amazing views. A sign? I get it but not everywhere. All the best. Mark

You did the right thing on Rannerdale Knotts. You’re not supposed to use that other route unless you’re wearing Spider-Man pyjamas. Very steep and very slippy

some rugged hiking on todays video to get to the tops of the Fells and cool filming of the jet that flew by (is there an air force base close by)
