1:27 im not sure if that's how the brain works. I've always been taught that the brain doesn't go through a checklist of things and check for each feature of the face. It just takes in the visual input from the eyes and that just lights up the particular neural path that the brain previously associated with that sensory visual input. this is kinda the reason you can't name every song you've ever listened to but know if you've heard the song if you listen to it again. i might be totally wrong tho idk
Neurons aren't just 0 or 1 they are much more complex than that, they communicate by chemicals so it's not even something like 0-1 it's much more complex than that. Also modern neural networks aren't just 0 to 1, each neuron in a neural network is usually a number between 0 to 1 or even any real number. What he talked about were perceptrons, neurons than can only be 0 or 1, but they aren't used often; I for once have never seen someone use perceptrons for a real neural network.
Before I used to say that the subject matter of this channel was boring but the animation was superb. Now the subject matter is growing more and more useful and interesting. Good job. Underrated channel.
When I read "Neural Networks" I thought for a second that Elon Musk invented telepathic cranial implants and that we are getting the Borg started. No such luck sadly.
What you explained is a perceptron. Perceptrons are activation functions that can only be 0 or 1, they aren't used often in modern neural networks, at least from what I know.
It's not necessarily just yes/no questions, they are usually 0 to 1 a likelihood or a degree. Actually a neuron in a neural network can even be any real number. It's just that usually, for convenience, values get cramped from 0 to 1 to make calculations easier but in reality a neuron in a neural net can be any real number.
This video makes me ponder whether the issue of humanity putting its 'pre-existing bias' into AI will be one we'll constantly be trying to fight against in the future. Just as it's important for professors to teach their students how to learn and not what to learn, it'll be tricky to get AI to learn in the 'right' ways. As in, we don't want AI to be copies of us with all our cognitive flaws- we want them/it to be BETTER than us
It's amazing how it's all boils down to "routines monitoring routines intaking qualia." The only difficult bit for an AI, is the whole "awareness" of routines-- in other words, a way of evaluating differences. (It won't be Science Fiction for long).
Just look at those music videos and those challenges videos getting millions of views in an hour. Because most of the population just want entertainment. But the informative videos watched by the fraction of educated people doesn't get enough raise smh! Anyways kudos for the work done by your team and for this educational videos we can watch for free...!!
entertainment is usually one of the most important things because it can make you sane and get rid of depression but informative videos are always welcome
