• How to Get More Clicks...
First, why I think Pinterest is such a great platform to promote your business? The main reason is because Pinterest doesn’t try to keep users all the time inside their platform, to the contrary - Pinterest lets you add a link to your website from every image you publish on your boards.
If you know anything about another very popular social network Instagram, there you can only have a link from your profile and from stories. And stories don’t last more than 24 hours. So if you want to get some traffic from Instagram, you have to really hustle every single day and publish new stories.
So, the second reason why I think Pinterest is so great for businesses is because you are investing your time in a long-term success. Each pin you saved on the platform, has a chance to go viral but not only that - it can also be found on Pinterest months and sometimes even years after you published the pin, in Pinterest search results.
And the other reason I have to mention here is that Pinterest could be the best option for a lot of businesses and people who are not ready to put themselves out there in other formats. Like if you don’t want to create video because let’s face it, it is 100 times easier and faster to create an image for Pinterest than a video for UA-cam. If you don’t see yourself making Instagram stories every day just to get some likes and a few clicks to your website, then perhaps Pinterest which is something in between a social media and a search engine, is the best place to get traffic from in addition to Google.
And I have to tell you that Google, as much as I love Google traffic, is a tough-nut-to-crack! You will not get a ton of organic traffic from Google in the first year or two of building your website. You’ll need a lot of time and effort building backlinks. On Pinterest you can start getting a decent amount of traffic right away, literally from the first month being on this platform.
What kind of niches and business are doing well on Pinterest?
If you know a little bit about me, I became a Pinterest marketing expert through the experience I first gain on this platform running traffic to my blogs.
I’ve had months with over 300,000/mo pageviews and about 90% of the traffic was coming from Pinterest.
And lots of other bloggers (even complete beginners) are leveraging Pinterest traffic because you can get traction on this platform so much faster than on Google.
Pinterest works great for bloggers because it drives mostly traffic from the United States, and it helps making more money for each 1000 of visitors to the site.
But that also means that whatever your business is, even if you are far from the blogging world, you can leverage Pinterest audience that’s so valued by ad networks because of their buyer intent and high average household income.
I’m not going to lie to you that every possible niche on Earth is a good fit for Pinterest. If you have a local car rental business, I think the best place for you is Google because people will not look for this type of services on Pinterest.
But let me show you some of the niches that are very popular on Pinterest.
If you have a Pinterest account, you can check this data and all the details for yourself too. So, we go to Audience Insights and then to the tab All Pinterest users.
These are the top niches on Pinterest very broadly defined but on the right side you can also see more specific topics inside of each niche.
Now that I showed you that there are lots of niches that do really well on Pinterest, I need to also mention what kind of business can hardly be a good fit.
If you are promoting events that are happening only once in a specific place, like concerts for example, Pinterest is not going to help you much because as a search engine, it will take time to index your new pins and start ranking them. By the time you can get any traffic from your pins, the event will be history.

I run a décor blog and paid hundreds of dollars for a course on Pinterest. After seven months of being on the platform, I didn’t believe my account had healthy growth for the work I was doing. @@jules5869 Hi Julie, Just my 2 cents.... It takes Pinterest 3-4 months to index your new interest. I waited 6 months once I changed my niche, my audience was currently in the correct niche - but the account was still unhealthy.

Yeah so few people here in NZ, I wouldn't even bother targeting a kiwi audience online anymore. I tried doing client SEO in the past and lead generation (both SEO & fb ads), but the small population here made it too difficult, even in Wellington (Auckland miiiiight be okay but still very competitive). I found that the CPC was too high for fb ads and for seo the traffic just wasn't enough to justify the investment. So I totally agree, focus on a US market and go hard on Pinterest!

Hi Anastasia, not looking for any shoutout, just sharing here for the first time. Created a biz account sometime in Dec 2019 and have been creating pins till today. I have learnt so much from you. Thank you. Your content is easy to understand and I do feel your sincerity. I was so lost at first, but now it's getting better, largely due to your content. At first I was just pinning square pins from my ecom site as I did not have much time to create tall pins, but I soon realized, I should do it the right way. So now I create 1000 x 1500 pins on canva and i believe my pins are improving aesthetically by experience. It is sure painful to do the pins because i have so many things on my plate as a solopreneur, but I will take time every 2 days to create new pins. I do everything as per your teachings here on you tube. My vanity metrics are increasing but I only get 1-4 clicks to my website, highest being 13. Till date, all my sales still come from my google ads, none from pinterest. I am starting to doubt if it is that easy to get sales from pinterest users but I still continue to create pins, including video pins. I am proud of my effort till date, just wished it would at least yield some sales to justify my working till wee hours of the morning. The days when I create pins, means I have to forgo doing product research for new products to test in my store or to be able to analyze my ad campaigns. I also found out that I am unable to advertise on Pinterest, as my country is not listed as one of the approved countries for credit card payment. Therefore, I have no choice but just forge and hopefully in time, build up a good organic traffic. Looking at my traction, I think it will take a long time. Sorry for being so long winded but hopefully that helps You Tube algo know that the engagement from me is real. Thank u and best wishes!
