    My husband has his blood test for his inflammatory markers done. They can back as 140 😮. He has had sore hips and legs but wow😮 that sounds awfully high. We r waiting to hear from the doctor again. 8/5/23

    • @drkellyshockley
      @drkellyshockley  Рік тому

      That’s very high. The biggest question is WHY. Those answers are normally found in the rest of the testing, though MDs generally don’t run enough. Have you started him on an anti-inflammatory diet? It would help put some of the fire out.

    Interesting talk and i don't disagree with you on everything you say, but since will hear what you say and cut out whole grains completely, which i think could do more harm than good. Everything in moderation, well the non ultra processed food anyway. I totally agree with buying and cooking your own meals using natural food stuffs, and being selective about which processed foods you consume, you can't these days not consumed any i think. So plenty of fruit and veg, protein, since carbohydrate (but not too much, we all need some slow release energy is necessary, especially if you live an active lifestyle or have a labor intensive job).
    I came here because i suspect i have some inflamation, possibly ME/CFS, and even though my blood tests came back as at the higher end of the "expected" range some days I'm better than others so if my blood test happens to be on a better day i don't think the problem will show up, which for me and probably many others with fluctuating symptoms is a problem in getting diagnosed.
    Regarding your initial comments about the ranges that are used I'm guessing that many of the people tested for possible inflammation, maybe a majority, don't have elevated levels, they have other problems that get flagged up in other things that get tested, so whether this means only people where everything else is fine but they have elevated levels in CRP or ESR are used in calculating what a "normal" level is. I do get what you're saying and it definitely sounds plausible but I'm not sure what else could be used, you can't use healthy people test results when they don't exist, plus i bet if you tested a sample of so called healthy people you'd probably find they all had some issues, which is another issue altogether and something that should be done, preventative yearly checks.

    Yeah. That is what my doctor said. Oh he is not worried because it is 54 as he has seen over 200… Well when I saw range 0-22 being normal I was like, well it is twice as high, how can it be insignificant

      @@drkellyshockley No. I did another blood test recently and it has gone down to 38 now. I apparently have anxiety now, so maybe something flairs up when I get panic attacks. Hasn't gone worse, so I guess have to accept it is not as high then

    For her reasons; we've gone 98% carnivore/fish, no grains, very low carbs and low vegetables. And feel better then ever. Drop carbs, glucose, insulin = lowered inflamation. Good luck.

      I’m so sorry to hear about this. They should run the Cleveland heart panel on her to get more insight on her heart. I understand why they’re doing what they are - standard of care - However, all of her health needs to be evaluated to gain more clarity as to what’s driving the inflammatory. Diet wise, cut out carbs/sugars. Eat clean protein, healthy fats and veggies. Even keep fruits at more of a minimum right now. This can help being inflammation down in her body.

      1/2 year before I retired I started on a low carb diet. I took 6 months to drop weight by 20lb and 1.5 years to drop by 33lb. All 30 years had free blood work covered by company but not including hs-crp. 1 year after I retired paid for my own blood work and add hs-crp. Result is less than 1. Liver results for ALP, ATL and AST reading drop so much. 😂😂😂. But LDL is over the roof but other risk matrix is very much lower.
      On 1st month on low carb my hand shivers when blood glucose drops to 100. On 2nd month on hand shivering blood glucose is 90. On 3rd hand shivering blood glucose is below 80. So my brain had become less dependence on glucose.
      In January 2023 added magnesium, vitamin D3 + vitamin K2, + red palm oil into my other supplements. Also stop all medications except high blood pressure pill had to be cut into 3 and taken 1/3 in early morning on an empty stomach.
      Jan 2024 passed magnesium, vitamin D and B12 blood work test. Liver test results are very very good - two of which are below their mid range value. LDL is still very high but I am blissed and relaxed after every morning & late evening exercise. 😂😂😂🎉🎉😊
