I feel like Arthur Brown, John Lord, Joe Elliot, Rick Savage, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, John Paul Jones, Phil Taylor, and Eddie Clarke deserve to be on this list, along with many others. Then again, there are a whole lotta rock stars.
Rock Stars need to live the Rock Star life of huge bands, great musicianship, drug problems, girl problems, and mayhem such as throwing TVs out the window. Elvis and Bob Dylan are not what most people think of when they hear Rock Star. Here's my top: 7 - Keith Moon 6 - Chuck Berry 5 - John Lennon 4 - Ozzy Osbourne 3 - Jimmy Page 2 - Jim Morrison 1 - Keith Richards
Hahah, I get where you are coming from. When they think of Elvis they only remember his last years but he was the first to do all on your list of “bad things” and paved the way so that everyone on this countdown could do the same. Just a small *his drug problems were with prescription drugs.
Yeeeeeessss finally someone like me , I just cant stand when people diss Freddie cuz of his sexuality and stuff . He is far more rockstar or I would say legendary than anyone here , I mean what good at being a rockstar when you cant even handle the whole audience and have good live performances, for me the only band who were actually great in live versions than studio versions and at same time doing great memorable performances is queen with Freddie and the other members.

Thom yorke is not even a "rock star" if anything i think jonny greenwood is more rock n roll than him. Although i don't like radiohead i know that jonny is the one who elevates the sound of radiohead
Nice I see you are a radiohead fan , but I got to ask why Thom ? I mean no hate on him I absolutely loves his stuff . Hmm I guess its yar taste and opinion 😎😇😊
Love the fact that all 4 Beatles found their way onto this list, although Ringo should have been higher (higher than George, although George was my favorite), and Geddy and Neil made it from Rush, whereas Alex Lifeson did not...and I think it's because he is so thoroughly humble and unassuming that you wouldn't know he's a rock star--even when he's on stage!!! I'm also amazed that many people made this list that I've honestly never heard of...
Nah George definitely should be higher he was a much better songwriter his guitar playing was genius and amazing and he actually tried contributing to the band possibly as much as John and Paul And he had a better voice Ringo only write 2 songs while George wrote a lot even if many got rejected
My list: .10)little Richard .9) Kurt cobain .8) ozzy osbourne .7) Freddie Mercury .6) Paul McCartney .5) mick jagger .4) Bob Dylan .3) Elvis .2) Chuck Berry .1) John Lennon
And the stubborn ones will never miss, I have heard of some of these artists who are in this video, saying that the appearance of Elvis was one of the best things that has happened in the history of rock n roll, they being children, other adolescents, but Elvis was always there to influence them all, you look for this and you will be surprised by all the singers and instrument players who have mentioned that Elvis was like the Messiah of rock, he appeared to save it when literally the genre was going down or better said when some rockers had to leave for a long time for problems
Nick Mason ❤️ Roger Taylor ❤️ Syd Barrett ❤️ Jeff Lynne ❤️ Ringo Starr❤️ Liam Gallagher❤️❤️ Rivers Cuomo❤️ Brian May❤️ Slash❤️ Dave Grohl❤️ Thom Yorke ❤️❤️❤️the best Roger Waters love your music but you’re a weird person xD Bono❤️ George Harrison❤️ Stevie Nicks❤️❤️ David Gilmour❤️❤️ Kurt Cobain❤️❤️ Freddie Mercury❤️❤️ John Lennon❤️❤️ Paul McCartney❤️❤️ Elvis ❤️❤️🔥
guys, it’s his own opinion. i don’t agree with everything on this list either, but we don’t have to comment and be rude about it. if you don’t like the list, keep it to yourself please
1) I assume this is a list of artists whose work help pushed Rock music (& its sub-genres) forward and whose lifestyles help create & personify what it meant to be a "Rock Star." 2) I also assume you deliberately excluded certain rock adjacent genres which greatly influenced rock such as Country, R&B, Gospel, Blues, Reggae, etc. Which meant excluding figures essential to rock's development: such as Ray Charles, James Brown, Johnny Cash, Smokey Robinson & Bob Marley. 3) Missing: Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Joni Mitchell, Joan Jett, Chrissy Hynes [Great women of Rock] - Phil Spector [Producer as the star] - Jon Anderson, [The voice of the quintessential prog band] - Jerry Garcia [King of the hippies] - Sly Stone, Prince [Seamless fusion of Funk & Rock] - Jack Bruce, Chris Squire [Star bassists] - Alice Cooper [Shock Rock pioneer] - Michael Stipe [Leader in alternative music]
I don't think this list captures the essence of 'Rock Star' vs merely a great rock musician. Mick Jagger, Axl Rose, Ozzy, Freddie Mercury... those are rock stars. Billy Joel for example is a great rock musician.
Bon Scott, George Harrison, Ray Manzarek, Elton John, Billy Joel, James Hetfield, Brian Johnson, Ringo Starr, Eddie Vedder, Anthony Kiedis, Angus Young, and Jim Morrison deserve to be way higher.
Honorable mentions: Ronnie James Dio, John Eintwistle, Alex Lifeson, John Paul Jones, Dimebag Darrel, Carl Perkins, John Deacon, Bruce Dickinson, Kirk Hammet, Jack Bruce Steve Harris, Bill Ward, Johnny Ramone, Robert Johnson, Johnny Cash, Lita Ford, Herbie Hancock, Bo Diddley, and more.

Plant and Page are as well one of the greatest of all time, probably no one will ever have their charisma and band chemistry, but you cannot be surprised if you see them behind Wilson

Brian Wilson, soo underrated, should be in top10
No Ace Frehley, Prince, Dimebag?? It's tough to make lists, so many greats.

Rock Stars need to live the Rock Star life of huge bands, great musicianship, drug problems, girl problems, and mayhem such as throwing TVs out the window. Elvis and Bob Dylan are not what most people think of when they hear Rock Star. Here's my top:
7 - Keith Moon
6 - Chuck Berry
5 - John Lennon
4 - Ozzy Osbourne
3 - Jimmy Page
2 - Jim Morrison
1 - Keith Richards

True
Freddie should be on one because he is the number 1. This isn't the fan in me saying he should be on number 1, he is number 1 and that's a fact.

Nah
George definitely should be higher he was a much better songwriter his guitar playing was genius and amazing and he actually tried contributing to the band possibly as much as John and Paul

1) I assume this is a list of artists whose work help pushed Rock music (& its sub-genres) forward and whose lifestyles help create & personify what it meant to be a "Rock Star."
2) I also assume you deliberately excluded certain rock adjacent genres which greatly influenced rock such as Country, R&B, Gospel, Blues, Reggae, etc. Which meant excluding figures essential to rock's development: such as Ray Charles, James Brown, Johnny Cash, Smokey Robinson & Bob Marley.
3) Missing: Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Joni Mitchell, Joan Jett, Chrissy Hynes [Great women of Rock] - Phil Spector [Producer as the star] - Jon Anderson, [The voice of the quintessential prog band] - Jerry Garcia [King of the hippies] - Sly Stone, Prince [Seamless fusion of Funk & Rock] - Jack Bruce, Chris Squire [Star bassists] - Alice Cooper [Shock Rock pioneer] - Michael Stipe [Leader in alternative music]
