It is interesting that God used the words 'what do you really care about' rather than 'what do you want' or 'what do you love'. I find it a nice touch.
His prayer for Grace was a true sign of him loving her. He was willing to let her go and have her be with someone else if it meant her happiness. I'm glad he ended up with her in the end. Bruce came a long way from who he was at the beginning of the movie.

For me the best part is when he starts talking about Grace, at first you think he'll be selfish and say "oh yeah i want her, lets go", but then he drops honestly one of the most heartfelt lines in any movie talking about being able to see her happy, it shows a full transformation in character for Bruce, he wants whats best for her, not him. Seriously the best scene in the film.

I love Gods representation in this movie: He knows the reason why he created you and yet he doesn't force you to live up to it. He's just their to give advise and love you regardless of the path you chose.
I love the acting at 1:26; the look of wonder on Bruce's face when he realises that (much to his own surprise,) he doesn't want something for himself. His first real experience of unselfishness then lets him visibly relax and be at peace for the first time in the film. I also love God's reaction; I know he said he doesn't affect free will, but I still think he knew what Bruce was going to say (whether because of divine omniscience or just a very good understanding of people,) and the look of surprise was staged to encourage Bruce to think through his revelation and complete his transformation. That look of a parent/teacher feigning ignorance to encourage a promising yet stubborn and stroppy child to make their own life-altering discovery rather than spoon-feeding it to them really fits in with this film's interpretation of God.
"Now what do you really care about?" This line tells us that God wants us to focus our energy on what really matters to us first and foremost, rather than what others want to matter to us.
The conversation between Bruce and God is the most heart touching and comforting. It gives me a sense of purpose to sacrifice the one side love which probably will end very soon. Thanks to the entire crew of this movie for creating such a masterpiece.
For being a quintessential Jim Carrey comedy film, there's a beautiful underlying spiritual message in this movie, not just the wonderful "Be the miracle" message. We see Bruce doing sweeps, and he wants to be something more (news anchor position), but in so doing, he sacrifices his greatest talents and assets: making people laugh and creating that feeling of joy in everyone around him. He learns how we're given talents, but if we don't use them, we're less than what we are. It's touching how the film comes to full circle in the end as Bruce is back to doing sweeps, but he's happy with his job and continuing to employ his talents, thus making everyone happy as a whole. And it's that kind of positive, uplifting atmosphere that helps make the world a better place for everyone, a good life worth living.
I love the writing in this movie God knew what Bruce was going to ask for before he even asked for it hence him getting hit by the truck so Grace could move past her anger and forgive him And the scene where God talks to Bruce the final step he needed to look at life not just Grace through God’s eyes with love and compassion Truly a masterpiece of a movie

This scene really resonates with me because I was lucky enough to be with the love of my life for over 3 years. We had a really bad falling out, and we separated hard and with a big fat mess all over the place. And I am to blame for that. I cried and cried for her back for almost 2 years after the break up. At times, practically for 9 months straight actually, it was constant. Any time i daydreamed or had nothing to think about in the day, the feelings and yearning for her love again would cripple me down. Keep me up for days. Make me relapse in my drug addiction. But enough was enough, all of this was just me hurting myself for no reason. I had to let her go. I knew for the longest time that I just wanted her to be happy, no matter who she is with. But I wasn't satisfied deep down with that realization. But now, knowing that I'm not weighing her down with all of the flaws that I currently hold, that she can finally live her life to her fullest and make somebody else feel the way she made me feel. And to have that other person make her feel the same way. I wouldn't trade it in the world.. but that's also the thing. I have to trade it, because to keep it all for myself without consideration of her wants would just be selfish and heartless. that is funny, and I had not thought about that. at least in Bruce's case, it was clear he was just doing praying how he thought he was expected to, and not from the heart, which is why God took issue with it.
That's amazing. You can watch that scene and get it absolutely backwards. God didn't want some insincere platitudes, he wanted Bruce to speak from the heart. He realized he'd screwed up and lost Grace because he was selfish. And for the first time, Bruce wasn't self-serving. He wanted whatever was best for her, regardless of what it meant for him.

1:11 - 'Now come on, what do you REALLY care about?!' - Given who God is, I've always figured he knew the answer to this question (he's God after all), he's forcing Bruce to acknowledge and face up to his love for Grace. He looks God right in the eye and prays for her to find someone who'll love her deeply. God already has the right person of course, its Bruce - which is why he sends him back!
Just for a moment this made me think back to all the amazing people I loved that have now passed, and the dumb things I worry about sometimes. Reminded me to take a step back and enjoy life. Even though it’s just a silly movie.

This film taught a very valuable lesson about greed and selfishness, and how it feels to be granted such power but also a great sense of responsibility. Only by letting go of what he wanted and thinking about what her CARED about, did he start thinking about making others happy before himself. As someone who loves to help people and make people happy, it's something that everyone should think about. It's a healthy balance of being selfless and selfish.

I've been having difficulties trying to be a honest and good person and i wish i could have the faith that many others have in the Lord
I don't have any physical problems and my family is awesome ❤ so i can't complain whatsoever about my life
I pray 🙏 that the people that are having a hard time in the world in this crazy time could feel better
I wish a good evening to everybody from Italy
"What do you really care about?"
next day: *Bloodborne Kart, now releasing on PC, PS4, and XB1*
Now we will never get a Bloodborne Kart since there’s no more Berserk for Miyazaki to rip off 😔
@@jerrycool5638 I'll smite you. Miyazaki is creative all on his own
The “no” answer which made God raise Thy eyebrows. The one pray which even made God Himself surprised. What a movie.
Every real person: I literally care more about ending war, poverty, disease and protecting children
God: choose something self-serving.
Certainly not *every* real person.
that is funny, and I had not thought about that. at least in Bruce's case, it was clear he was just doing praying how he thought he was expected to, and not from the heart, which is why God took issue with it.
@@mikeb4481 so you're saying a selfish want for an individual is more important and really matters to the sky fairy..... ending war, poverty and disease which affects literally billions of people as these are empty platitudes..... I would w/o hesitation 1st and foremost ask an imaginary cloud ghost for those things but then unlike religious people I am not selfish.
@@uwillnevahno6837 Well my friend, your unpleasant tone, and calling God a sky fairy could tend to give atheists a bad reputation. Set that aside, and take the movie on its own terms. Bruce grew as a person. It's a touching scene, if you let it touch you.
Just one sincere prayer & God gave you times 10 of what you prayed for.
This scene always makes me cry :'(
But it's a happy ending for Bruce and Grace :)
2014! fav part.. it made me cry every time.
Come take a closer walk with me.
This movie was amazing. Morgan Freeman & Jim Carrey made absolute magic in this film. What a great film this was & still is to this day, even after all these years.
This movie teaches us of how difficult it is to run the world as God, we have to appreciate who we are and be grateful to God
Gerardo Rodriguez 🙏
Stefan Tomasi amen 🙏
Gerardo Rodriguez Amen. This movie provides lessons of faith and true goodness. I’ve watched this and my dad and I like this movie. In the beginning, Bruce holds grudges and in the ending, he becomes a better person. That’s what I’ve seen in this movie
Stefan Tomasi I’ve learn that stealing is wrong, so I stoped stealing
Bruce then proceeds to leave the hospital when recovered with his soulmate on one arm and a bill for $100,000 in the hand of the other... 👀
Knowing because God and bruce are homies in this film that bill probably got paid somehow
Remember he probably got a big raise during his "Mr. Exclusive" phase.
He is definitely going to need a serious miracle to pay that off without ending in serious debt or be completely broke with that herculean bill from our healthcare system😬
I love the deep relationship of Bruce and God it’s beautiful and the lovely sein in the hospital, this really was the sweetest movie, actually l really love all David and Jens movies their always a delight to watch.
i think this is the only movie where you both cry from laughter and being genuinly emotional
I love this scene so much
God is everything, he even is very chill
I like that when he says "no" you can see that God/Morgan was surprised.
WankersCramp69 while is good acting, the reality is that the lord knows all of our thoughts and he can see all outcomes from our decisions. So if this conversation actually happened Heavenly Father would know what he was thinking at that moment but he would wait for you to make the decision. From what I understand
Dear horatiu2003, I would like to say, thank you, to you, for taking the time, energy and effort to both upload and share this video with the youtube family. Thank You!
This movie is so good. Funny but has really strong emotional scenes.
Yes, God... I want to meet someone who sees me through your eyes. ❤.
Amen to the words of truth spoken by Morgan Freeman in this film about God Himself amen.
4:09 that grateful look he gave to God 😭
"I want her to find someone..."
That someone is none other than Bruce
God is so good
1:08 Morgan literally said “cut the bullshit” 😂
There is a "why and a when" for everything, I just hope I see her again someday. Without her, I'm just a zero.
Just for a moment this made me think back to all the amazing people I loved that have now passed, and the dumb things I worry about sometimes. Reminded me to take a step back and enjoy life. Even though it’s just a silly movie.
Now common, what do you really care about? that line is perfection!
"Now you're just showing off!" Amen & Hallelujah!
With scenes like this to the Butt Monkey, this is one of Jim's best movies. It's hard to say how much was improvised. All the lines suit him well so high props to the writers as well.
Grace is a metaphor for God's grace.
I once has this girl. Who is so nice and been with me all through my military career and now when my career is mpving up and going great . My family wont accept her because she is too simple for my career path
All my life Im just a puppet drive by others " importance " when I finally found someome to rest on
It got taken away
Seeing this clip makes me want to prey for her
Like bruce did
I wont be forgetting anytimr soon
But I want her to be happy without me even if that mean letting me go
I choose to bear this pain but knowing that one day she is happy like the day we planned to be
Thats good
Sorry for the yappuchino. But take notes ok?
Dont be too successful or your life is just a big business for someone else
Love this scene , very amazing movie #great creativity.
This was Davin…. He said something similar to me. This is why I still love him.
💜
This movie is good.
It's goooooood haha
2:24
This film taught a very valuable lesson about greed and selfishness, and how it feels to be granted such power but also a great sense of responsibility.
Only by letting go of what he wanted and thinking about what her CARED about, did he start thinking about making others happy before himself.
As someone who loves to help people and make people happy, it's something that everyone should think about. It's a healthy balance of being selfless and selfish.
It’s what the Christ do to all the human beings with his sacrifice
A real proof of love
When you love someone you help him you guide him
But doing all the thing for the person don’t help him
God help the person to be a better person guide them to do the things by themself
God give us the free will
He want us to have faith love and hope he want us to be the miracle
@@victorito07 yet many women were beaten to death by abusive husbands just because of that conviction in a local priest mind or even entire village. 'what God has joined together, man must not separate' the movie Chocolat touched that one in the most realistic way. And we still live in such a world, Mel Gibson and Johnny Depp - two examples of highly protected abusive spouses, at least these women freed themselves but got trashed in public eye, did these guys learn anything? Only that they can do whatever and they will be hailed innocent and cute and adorable.
@@hannahsdrawings8664 yes but i speak about christ not abusive men
@@victorito07 'God help the person to be a better person guide them' - by these words you do not meant that God helps abusive men? You only meant that God helps Christ?
Man: "God, feed the hungry."
God: "Buy a hungry person a meal."
Man: "God, bring peace."
God: "When a man strikes you, hold your hand. Become his friend."
I wish I could have made that same deal with God 😢❤
I love that *CLEAR* moment,
I felt that part when Bruce prays for Grace's happiness I wish I could do the same for that special person who I care for I may want her with me but at the same time I can't be selfish I want her happiness even it means that I may not be with her 😢
Clear! That didn't feel very good? Clear!
God asked what does Bruce care about? To which, Bruce said grace.
It's a word play. Because while he was saying the one thing / person he cares about - which was Grace, he was also saying grace and prayed for her happiness.
i love how God does "its good" with Bruce while doing "the dance" with Evan.
*ry* i pray that whatever corner you are.... You get the love i always wanted to get you and that god if he thinks makes me worthy of loving you again
When you realize that when “God” asked if he wanted Grace back, he already knew the answer, he was just setting up Bruce to be honest with himself
KEWIN Y ÉRIKA PARA SIEMPRE EN MEDELLÍN, COLOMBIA 💙💙💙💙
that prayer teared me up. the unselfish prayer.
No a it’s real prayer
If you wantmoney power etc is not a prayer but material wish
A prayer is not a wish that god will grant to us
No
A prayer is just an help to God tho guide us to be a better person to the things by ourself and to help us to have faith love and hope
haha I have seen this film in German TV last year absolute SUPER Film
"Feed the hungry and bring peace to all of mankind".
Yeah fuck it, lets forget about that one...
Gotta watch this again soon ❤
What an extraordinary actor Jim Carrey
God: You Want Her Back?
Bruce: No, I want her to be happy, Whatever that means❤️❤️
I remember this movie
Those lines hit very different now that I've been in the exact situation.
I want her to be happy, no matter what that means. I want her to find someone who will treat her with all the love she deserved from me. I want her to meet someone who will see her always as I do now, through Your eyes.
