Slayer - Aggressive Perfector (live 1983)

- I'm pretty sure this is from the Woodstock, Anaheim/LA, CA, July 1, 1983, but I've seen all kinds of contradicting information about the date and club, so I won't say that's definite. Audio bootlegs of this show are sometimes referred to as "Eternal Damnation." This is probably the most famous live version of "Aggressive Perfector" due to Tom's killer intro and the Hanneman/King guitar dueling at the end.
Before you tell me "Oh, I think I know this gig," I have the rest of gig and for sure it is:
- NOT the same show as any '83 footage from the Sountrack to the Apocalypse DVD.
- NOT the gig where they played a lot of earlier NWOBHM-inspired numbers which were never recorded in the studio.
If anyone happens to remember a site with great info about Slayer's early California shows, please let me know. As far as I remember it was a text only page on a tan-colored background, and not a Slayer site, but a page off of some guy's video trading list or something. It gave the most extensive info on their 1983 shows I've ever seen, but I can't find it anymore!
Hanneman's soloing is outstanding! Great classic shit! Thanks for sharing this pure slab of extreme metal.
how can't they be Priest fans seeing this vid !!! yeaaah !!!
This is some of the best true Slayer video ever!...The sound is way better than most '83 boots...and the band looks just like they do on the back of Show No Mercy!!!...amazing.
This is some killer shit!!
Couldn't agree more with the opening statements of this video. So refreshing to know there are people out there who 'know whats up'!! Nu-metal SUCKS!!!
I totally agree with you. Early Slayer is a total cult metal band and a solid basis in the metal music.Old Slayer rules forever!!!
The best era of SLAYER! when they were underground and were not part of mainstream now
WOW the scream at 3:48 kicked ass
This looks different from my boot of them live at the Woodstock. I might have to dig that old tape out.
This is the song that got them a record deal with Metal Blade, wasn't it?
Damn... Jeff with a V, Tom with a P-bass, Kerry with an ML, and Dave with a single bass drum. Not to mention their hair was barely even long by this time. How things change...
fuck yeah!!! good ol days
dang....reminds me of '84 watching these cats at some awesome rock club in San Antone ( I totally forgot the name, they always had awesome metal..). I think I was 15 or 16, totally underaged, being blown away.
Thanks for postin........
That was definitely metal
this is metal like it used to be in the good old times
I think all Slayer Fans are Aggressive Perfector.
7 people aren't agressive perfector's
80s rule!
Jeff looks like KK Downing with that geetar.
He cant scream like that anymore
yes i wrote hit the lights too
Dude, this is killer shit-classic metal-thanks for the post-is this before they took the black make up off?
damn, this was an overkill of a performance
no not everyone tryed to be like metallica.
especially not slayer.
Fucking bad ass!! the good ol days. although they still keep it brutal,Slayer jumped the shark when kerry king shaved his head and endorsed his own line of BC rich guitars. I mean come on, what's wrong with keeping the long locks? even balding, He could have been the watermelon smashing "gallagher" of speed metal, well, him or Scott Ian.
Anyways, this video fucking rules.
is this jeff holding a flying-v... if yes this is really... trange lol... he used to play a custom lespaul during this period
Jeff Hanneman looks wierd with a V...Looks halfway between Dave Mustaine and KK Downing, LOL...Is that a ML that Kerry King is playing? Thats just weird!
No, its not natural move ;)
