Aaron has a great voice all his own! He doesn't have to sing like anyone else. I've been watching him since his Anchormen days! I have been able to notice his progress along the way. To me Gold City was when he first developed his current sound. He is at his best sound ever now! A very great singer! I'm a fan!
Aaron mentioned that he wanted to be remembered by NOT sounding like everyone else. The first time I heard him sing with the Anchormen, I knew he didn't sound like anybody else ... and I've loved to listen to him sing ever since. Hopefully, I will be able to shake his hand one day.
He’s definitely an experience to listen to in person! I met him at the NQC in 2012 and again at the State Fair in 2016 with Dailey and Vincent. Got to spend an amount of time talking to him and got a couple pictures with him and the rest of the group as well. His hometown is only about 2 hours away from me
I love that you talked about the fact that the crowd doesn't know what's low and what's not. I sing bass in an acoustic choir and the low notes usually don't get much of a reaction but sometimes when I'm only singing like G2 which isn't low at all I get people telling me how low that was. I feel like they only listen to power and contrast.
Met Aaron back in the late 90's in WV when he was singing with different groups (The Gracemen, The Faithmen) Loved listening to him sing and am happy to know he is still singing. He is a good man from Clay County, WV! (Sue H)
What a wonderful video. Aaron joined The Anchormen a year before I left the group. (I was the pianist). And I can tell you -- without reservation -- that traveling with Aaron every week was an absolute blast. In addition to being immensely talented, he was kind, funny and just a great guy to have as a friend. He was easily one of the "bright spots" of getting on the bus every week. Thanks for posting this. It's great to see him again and to hear how he's been. :)
I really enjoyed listening to these two just now and yes Aaron I agree with all you said about JD and his bass singing. Also, I didn’t know Aaron was from West Virginia. I love that state and Snowshoe and most beautiful fall foliage too. I hope to meet you both some day!
I've heard alot of bass singer's and not one of them are as good as Aaron. I'm 72 years old. So I've heard alot of them. Aaron can't be beat.I love you Aaron Lee❤❤❤
Sou muito fã do Aaron. É um monstro no baixo. O acompanhei e ouvia na época, todo santo dia, no UA-cam as músicas quando ele estava no Quarteto Gold City.
Great interview Matt. I think Aaron is a great singer and I really appreciate just how candid he is in his responses. I wonder if you could approach Richard Sterban for an interview(?) Perhaps you guys could delve into the psychology of bass singing. (ie how to defeat “that little man in your head that says you can’t hit that low note...” Richard has also had to deal with ongoing sinus issues throughout his career.
Thanks for doing this! To me, Aaron has always seemed a bit more mysterious among the premier bass singers of modern times (i.e. he didn't really talk a lot or do interviews), and it's great to finally see more of his personal side with this interview! And now a long time question I had (which was, until I watched this, forgotten for a while now) has finally been answered: Why did Gold City never seem to do "God's Building a Church" when Aaron was with them? Never knew he couldn't access that G1 back then until I watched this. Great video!
just listened to aaron sing for the 1st time in another video after watching this....man he really is good, sounds alot like tim riley, my fav bass singer. good series here bro, really have enjoyed it so far!
I love you Aaron you are in my third favourite Gold City Favourite Group I love that Bass you are Magnificent now you are Singing with Vincent & Dailey that is incredible you still are a Gold City to me and always will be. I love your long gorgeous hair and beard and moustache you didn’t have that back than singing with Gold City you still have that incredible gorgeous voice. No you don’t sound like Harold not even close you have your own incredible sound Aaron. I wish you would make your own CD your voice is magnificent that sounds like Tim. Lol 😂 Jeff teaches you well too like Tim Two Awesome Bass’s Teachers Aaron you sure know the great Bass Singers George ,Eric, Big Chef So Incredible God Bless You Aaron ♥️
At the end of these bass interviews you and the bass singer you are interviewing should do the bass part of “Elvira“ (Um Papa Um Papa Mow Mow) together. That would be awesome!
Aaron is my favorite bass.He is so good. Sad that Dailey & Vince don't respond to their fans. There are scammers everywhere, people need to be careful. God bless
Thankyou Matt, I remember hearing Tim Riley singing After a while with Gold City, and then hearing Aaron McCune sing it and I was just blown away. Have you ever sung after a while before Matt?

I love. To hear Aaron sing Mary Brown
wew his speaking voice is really deep.
I agree with him. I heard George Younce say the same thing. Me hittind a B0 didn't come until I got older, and learned to relax.
My voice isn't the same at 25 as it is at 45.
His looking like a young Richard Sterban. I like it and this was some great advice!

Hey my amazing favorite bass singer and my friend u should do an update bass singing tips with my only awesome Bro Randy Byrd.
Dang I never realized Aaron talks like a dang bear no wonder he sings deep bass so effortlessly
Is he related to the Big Show? He looks like he could be his little brother.
Jd was great with blackwood bros I'll have to agree

, he matched note for note effortlessly. And just keep this in mind. How old was TR when he sang that song and how old was he?
@@chowman007 yeah man the age gap is what blew me away. Just pure raw talent.
I DO... Aaron McCune..
William Bobo (Dixie Hummingbirds basso) was said to be the heaviest and fullest Bass Singer to ever live.
Check him out.
I didn’t realize how much he sounds like Tim
Aaron looks so much different
and the deaths of the pandemic things were so different. People were doing their best to keep up their spirits, nobody knew when the thing would be over or at least winding down.
Yoo that’s my uncle
my grandpa has a similar voice to his
A tenor singer is the same way as a bass singer relax and sing. Have your voice work for you instead of you working for your voice.
Cecil Stringer... Cecil Stringer...🙏♥️🙏
I wish Isaac freeman was still alive so you could have interviewed him.
Hmmmm
I'm turning 17 this year and the lowest note I can hit is E.
E2? I doubt E1 but who knows
@@ImmortalLlama not in chest it ain't XD
