Some of the melodies for O’Higgins music share striking similarities to Planter songs. With “The war song of Ulster” having a tinge of the battle of Garvagh and this melody sounding a lot like “Boyne Water”/“Bold (Bright) Orange Hero’s of Comber”. Could possibly be influenced by his Grandfather originally being from Tyrone. Having the melodies passed down that way.
I don’t know how exactly to explain it, but as a student of Chinese history and music, this song sounds very Chinese. Not just the lyrics per se, but the tone, the melody, etc.. Maybe I should write a Chinese version…

God... as an American, I so love the Irish for their mutual dislike for the monarchy.
Some Irishmen I know support a different version of the Monarchy, a one that would support the Irish, & reunite the Island.
