Not the Steve you featured here on this video, but THE Steve! He and his band of cohorts have had me rolling in the aisles many a day with their antics. I mean, the M1 is the only current MBT who uses a turbine. Everyone else uses diesel engines, and the design studies (they are just design studies, not prototypes) for an M1 successor also went for a diesel engine rather than a turbine. The Russians tried a turbine in the T-80, but just couldn't get it to work properly, and later went back to putting diesel engines into them.
I dislike M1 and T-80 in Arma 3 because they take ages to get started and moving.

@@billyparker5974 STRV103 isn't a current MBT, that's why I specified "current MBT who uses a turbine". The point is that everyone either went with diesels from the get go or didn't bother with turbines again after trying it once (STRV and T-80) and still managed to get a properly armored MBT, except for the US who might also be moving away from them in the future.
The T-80 was more of a case that the Soviets never intended on mass producing them. That is what the T-72 was for. The T-80 was for their elite units.
Never played a single second of world of tanks or world of warships, but jungle remains to be one of my most frequent visited creators.

Jingles, the tank isn't "too good" or "overpowered"! You must understand, WG balanced it through its terrible AA firepower. So it's competitive and well balanced!
In defense of the Kpz 50T, I can see its armor being made entirely of spaced armor. And this being a "1960s prototype", it was made of lightweight ceramic composites, which were first used in 1965 and wouldn't be entirely out of place. So in theory, assuming they are at the apex of the traditional Internal Combustion Engine, it theoretically could perform somewhat close to what we see in World of Tanks, with some teething troubles and notable weaknesses such as breaking down, snapping the drive chain, etc.
I remember that video where he hid out in a bush for a lot of the battle spotting the enemy and they never saw him.
I wonder how many players tried that tactic after watching the video?!

Steve is definitely a good player, but there's a lot of telltale signs in this gameplay that it definitely isn't 06wallst. Chief among which... the IGN isn't 06wallst and it's not anonymized.

At least the tank is made up. Just look at the subs in WoWs, those actually existed and yet, they still manage to do 30kts submerged, use magic homing torps and whatnot.

THE FOLLOWING STORY IS NOT PROVEN BUT REAL OR FAKE A STORY BEFITTING SAID VEHICLE and feels like how WG's designed "totally real tanks" are thought up to me.
So the story I've read behind it is supposedly a reporter asked a German AIR FORCE general IN A BAR how the tank of the future would look and so the air force general drew his idea for the tank of the future down...... on a bar napkin and this is what he supposedly drew hence things like the AA mini turret. THERE'S NO ACTUAL DOCUMENTATION OF THIS STORY BUT IT SOUNDS PLAUSIBLE ENOUGH TO BE REAL

Welp jingles to push something with a fcm 50t it hasnt to be with good it has more to do of a rng of a enemy team that cant handle it or react to it, i wished for myself that i bought back then the fcm50t back then then nowadays with 2x/3x the price, same goes for the elc even 90 i hated most light tanks when it was "reworked" or better said when i couldnt have fun in a tier 5 elc in tier 10 games i havent played any lights in general besides tier 1-3 at some time but the even 90 i got with a trade in event and it is so stupid op in camo rating and even i got it very very late, and to be not spotted in this thing isnt hard its judt what wargaming made up, but i still wished i could get a fcm50t for the old price just alone for the wg damned special premium range, and why i love the old premiums.
I can say even its not so hard but more rng in teams since the last 2 years i inly played wot when i was drunk or was eating and even ended over thst time period over half of the teams and i dont care over ststs but its why i personally switched literally more to coop or singleplayer games in general 😂, since when im wasted or eat and shoot with a conqueror gc arty over 300m+ and still end in the upper half i cant take it serious, but that point is for me since years gone in general thats why i only play it under the 2 conditions, and personally i would love from you jingles to see a series 10 games in wot on each tier, the games dont need to be special, but first to see you play it again and you can feel for yourself how the games are there 😂😂

Yeah we’ve got reduced tech trees starting at tier 3 not T1 you level up the tanks to upgrade them and elite them as well as the commander you can’t p2w a good one and we have a Cold War mode as well

I had plenty of times in the Leopard 1 where I bounced 3k damage, unfortunately the bouncing took place after the round had penetrated.

Only a couple years ago? Power creep became unbearable for me when they released the skorpion G like 6 years ago. It's been my theory that power creep is war gaming's effort to squeeze the remaining cash out of wot before it dies but obviously the micro transaction whales haven't let the game die yet

Wg threw any historical accuracy out the window years ago. Thats why I wish they'd buff certain tanks beyond what they have and not use the excuse of "that's not how it was in real life"
Seems like most of these "tanks" are blueprints... i just returned to WoT for the first time since ~2019 and after seeing a tank with a jet turbine nitro mod propel itself forward from spawn i realized that a lot has changed. the UDES was a really cool addition.. after Frontline it feels like we got more and more of these toy tanks.
In the dying days of WW2, a daring German raid deep behind Soviet lines managed to secure an entire train loaded with Stalinium.
Due to the confusion going on in Germany proper at the time, that shipment was forgotten in a train station somewhere until the 1960s when it was finally used in construction of the Kpz 50 t prototype.

Lobstep is obviously a good player. We all definitely know and enjoy that Steve is one, but you could tell by the style of play that it wasn't Steve. Apart from that, I simply can't imagine that he would have cursed his team in the chat. That's not his style either.

I too have the unfortunate disadvantage of being real.
There are unrealistic vehicles in WeeGee games, then there is the insanely unrealistic mechanic which alerts a player that they are detected and being seen by the enemy. Why it exists is also a mystery.

So...some slight lore corrections. While, yes, aspects of this did get eventually incorporated into the Leopard, the actual tank this is a fake prototype of is the KPz 70/MBT 70 that was being co-designed by Germany and the US. It actually, fairly decently, balanced all three aspects of armor, speed, and firepower, but it was just far too expensive to produce. Thus, the companies went their separate ways and used what they learned on the project to develop the Abrams and the Leopard.
Some lore corrections to your lore corrections: this tank actually didn't have anything to do with the Kampfpanzer 70 program nor the Leopard 1 program, it was a drawing made by Ferdinand Maria von Senger und Etterlin, a German WWII veteran. He made the drawing of this tank in the 1950s describing it as what he believed would be the ideal tank of the future. We do not know what he called the tank back then or what the tank was supposed to have (such as gun caliber, amount of armor and etc), but he described it as a tank in the 30 tons range.
Another significant lore correction. It was composite armor that ended the need to sacrifice protection for mobility or firepower. Armor was seen as a low priority in West Germany and France at the time due to the existence of sabots and ATGMs.
Another lore correction to your lore correction: the MBT 70 program wasn’t cancelled for being too expensive. It was cancelled because they couldn’t agree on things like the armament. It got to the point they might as well as have been making different tanks. And the MBT-70 was a replacement for the Leopard I as it was already in service. The Leopard was developed after a failed attempt at a no-national tank with France. International collaborative designs tend to fail not from costs, but from disagreements between the member nations.

Turbine engines had existed for a long time prior to the development of the Leopard, just look at the M4 Sherman. The reason the Leo did not have any armor is because it was developed in between the invention of chemical rounds (HEAT) and armor that could actually stop it (ERA). The designers figured armor had become obsolete and so focused on making everything else about the tank great. But yea, the Kpz 50t as it exists in WoT is bullshit.
Actually Jingles you could have all three before turbine engines. At the time, the Germans didn’t consider armor a priority because before the development of composite armor and ERA, they thought it was pointless to include good armor when you have ATGMs and Sabots that could destroy tanks regardless of the amount of they had.
