Some tracks like Sherbet Land he just zooms around as fast as possible, some tracks have some pretty crazy skips like Mushroom Gorge, other tracks like Grumble Volcano are absolute fucking nonsense

That maple treewat cut gives you the lap count but you need to do the first cut before that one where he boosts out of bounds to confuse the game
