Music at 30:02 from GorMusik's Snakes and Angels album. Track: The Lost Orchestra. Listen to the whole track here
• The Lost Orchestra
Hey Peter! Great tag. I enjoyed your stories and even your occasional ramblings 😂 The Audio of Being! Yes! Matthew Good is one of my favourite lyricists, there are so many good ones to choose from. I love the one you mentioned as well. Cheers buddy and Happy New Year!
@@StylusMeetsVinyl Happy New Year, Chris and Anika! Thanks for sticking with me through the ramblings. Matt Good is quite the lyricist for sure. I often don’t know what he’s trying to say, but it sounds deep.
Trying to catch up on vid’s minutes before I go away 😂 No matter what the format all should jump on the vinyl tag 👍 The Purps Burn is a ripper. Godspeed You Black Emperor? Do you like them? They’re one of my favourite Canadian bands. NIN for break ups & remixed by Coil. Wow you have a different way of dealing with parting ways. That’s some awesome dark shit. And I thought that what you had in common with the Tull was your love of standing on one foot 😂 I need to know what Mustaine said & what you’re reason we’re. I’m guessing he wasn’t too anti-gun. In short I hate violence of any kind & I find gun violence & the romance of guns abhorrent. Anyway that’s my two cents.
You have one of those secret stopping cameras 😂 CD singles you don’t see anywhere anymore. Ha, ha I love the Star Wars text. Roasting marshmallows over bodies…yep that’s certainly some odd imagery. Cheers mate…Ben
Thanks so much for including me in your catchups, Ben! It warms the cockerels of my heart. Damn, but you leave very thorough comments! God Speed you Black Emperor is a band I need to take time for. One can't just listen to quick snippets to get a feel like with regular song-length bands. I want to get an album and sit with it, so to speak. But what if I get the wrong one for me and get turned off right away? I know Brian loves them. I will have to look into it for the New Year. It goes on the hunter's list.
Mustaine said that Obama staged the school shooting just so he would have a reason to push for stricter gun control. It was such an asinine and irresponsible thing to say to his audience. I don't care if he doesn't like Obama. But throwing conspiracy theory shit out there with zero evidence to back it up, and then that there are shootings in the states weekly no matter who's president... Well, like I said, don't get me started. Shut up and play!
It's summer! Go on out and roast some marshmallows over a proper fire. Have a great Christmas, Ben!
Excellent as always, Peter. Lots of interesting artists where you easily provide bios and backstories for all of them, as one can expect from your videos. I actually went through a whole 70's Yes and Gentle Giant phase back in the day, so The Flower Kings I'm thinking I'll enjoy. Perfect channel mention as well. 😎🎶
@@onmyturntable7036 Ha ha! I’m picking up hints in the comments of other people’s videos. We shall see!
Thank you as always, Ed! You leave some of the best comments. Yeah, give The Flower Kings a listen and see what you think. Sometimes it can feel like prog by the numbers, but every album I have I’m glad to have.
Hi Peter!!! So cool to see your entry to the 2025 Vinyl Tag and no problem seeing a lot of cd instead of Lps...... Always like to hear your thoughts about some of those recordings and the background stories too. Never heard about that MRR record label, Also down here no RSD, that's what you get when you live at the edge of the world, lol.....Yeah!!! we all need to see that "fellow" again. cheers and be well
Thank you, Cristian, for always leaving such positive and encouraging comments. Yes, you do live far away down there. But it must be and interesting and beautiful place. I visited Chile once back in 2005. I came over from Argentina to hike in Torres del Paine National Park. It was fantastic!
I wish you a very happy New Year if I haven't done that already.
Great video Peter! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Always nice to see a few Sloan eateries in the mix. They played a free show locally on Canada day this year but I couldn’t make it due to work. 😢
Sorry to hear about for friend Colin! Sounds like a standup fella.
I’ve seen videos of the lost and found for the metro/subway in Tokyo … fascinating!!!
Lol loved the Star-wars-esk credits 😂.
@@YoungLPLovers Hey, Curtis! Always good to make contact with you! Bummer about missing the Sloan show. Colin was fantastic! I only knew him a couple of years but he was a gentlemen and very funny! I heard Catherine S shootout your channel the other day. She sure picked a good one! Hopefully see you with Rob and the gang sometime soon.
great set of choices Peter. I'll be doing more in January - my list is evolving shall we say!!
and great news about Steve. oh no, I've said too much... ;-)
@@duringthemeanwhilst Thank you, Nick. I’m looking forward to your video! And that fella’s too. I think I read somewhere in the comments to someone’s video…
I enjoyed your tag responses. Good background stories of the bands and personal stories. I like the way you changed the "find a bag of weed " question. I didn't know you live in Japan.
Thank you so much, Catherine! Yes, the bag of weed question was a good opportunity to remind others that weed is not legal or even common everywhere and that not everyone wants to smoke anything. But especially I wanted to share the Japanese tendency to return lost items of value. "Finders, keepers; losers, weepers" doesn't really apply here. In fact, that is more like animal thinking, as I have come to appreciate.
Great video, great responses and background stories!
@@TsymbalDmitry Thanks, Dmitry. I hope to catch some more of your videos.
Fun video, nice to see someone from BC possibly Vancouver like myself. Funny u showed 54-40 , as I notice they are being talked about more these days on the vc. I was a freelance photographer in the mid 80's to mid 90's in my youth and I was fortunate to do many promotional and live photos for 54-40, Sons of Freedom, Payolas, Rock & Hyde and later Bob Rock. There were others and I was in the biz and atmosphere of early Vancouver rock and it was good times mixed with lean times but always a great concert or party to go to.
Hey, indeed it's nice to see someone from B.C. I'm from Surrey. Check out the video I did recently for No Fun who are also from Surrey. I got into 54-40 earlier this year. Couldn't have named a single song in January, bought one album at the end of April and before August was done I had the whole studio collection. I've been mentioning them in my videos a lot since then, so I hope I'm partly responsible for the band being talked about more recently.
I worked in photography too in the 90s, but I was a landscape photographer. Got some photos in Beautiful British Columbia and Canadian Geographic magazines. I still love photography but hardly have any chance to do anything about it.
Thanks for commenting. I have done videos about other Vancouver area artists. Just before No Fun I talked about the new album by Anciients, and earlier this year a did a video about 54-40. I've done a few more, too.
Very informative! Nice to see stuff that I'm not all that familiar with , gives me something to checkout
@@TheAuditoryVinyl Right? My list of stuff to check out and also albums to buy keeps growing. That’s why it’s sometimes good to see a video like yours the other day, Doug, when I actually have a few of the albums! Thanks so much for dropping by!
Hey Peter. Great video. That story about Nine Inch Nails is hilarious (well, not hilarious, but ironic). In the 90s, Tool would have been my angry breakup music, but NIN a close 2nd i think. Anyways, great video as always. Cheers from the North, Darryl.
@@northernvinylguy Darryl! So good to hear from you! You must have been busy. Last I checked you didn’t have any new videos up. I’ll pop over shortly.
Hope your Christmas was great!
Hey Peter. Great video! Love Burn! The Flower Kings are fantastic. 5440 sounds interesting (need to check them out) NIN for a dumping seems perfect for both parties. Hah, I have that Waysted album. It's their best one IMHO. Sin After Sin, so good. Cheers
@@7BobbyGaylor7 Hey, Bobby! Thanks as always for dropping in! Cool to hear of someone who likes The Flower Kings. 54•40 really impressed me - obviously. I’d recommend Smilin’ Buddha Cabaret, Yes to Everything, or Dear Dear for starters. Vices is probably Waysted’s best, but I love many songs on Save Your Prayers, too! Hope your Christmas season is looking good!
@ Cheers & Happy Holidays! 🎄
Hi Peter
Really enjoyed this entry.
Love Burn. One Deep Purple album I keep returning to.
Liked hearing about Nippons finding stuff on the street culture.
Wish I had my couple of Megadeth vinyl records back... no idea where they ended up.
Was there a recordlabel that showed like stoneage men or the development of man walking on the record label? I have googled that lots of times but it may be an erroneous childhood memory.
Perhaps also one of my most played Judas Priest albums Peter.
Yes I miss that Swedish Chicago man as well. And the UK policman has been awol a while now as well...
Thank you for the video Peter. Made the evening nicer. Cheers.
@@MortenAastad Hi, Morten. I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, I heard the vinyl policeman has not been around recently. What’s going on? But that man in Chicago? I think he’s already creeping about again.
Sorry but I don’t know of a label that used that image, though I can imagine it.
Still waiting for my Fazerdaze CD…
@ Yes I have gotten some strange messages 😊
Hi Peter, definitely an interesting vinyl tag! I enjoyed your answers and hearing the stories behind why this band was pick or that singer was picked. I especially enjoyed hearing about your time in Japan. How do you spell the name of the Japanese artist you showed. 1999 I was about to graduate from college! I'd love to go to Japan some day as well as Okinawa. I'll be getting my answers ready for this vinyl tag started by Pretty Green Vinyl Guy. Hope all is well with you and yours! Best, Steve
@@rallstonianmusicreport1975 Hi, Steve! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! I see you’re just a few years younger than me. Yeah, if you ever get the chance, come on over! The artist is Yano Maki or Maki Yano if you put her family name last. I’ll add a link to a video here and another in one more reply to your comment. This song is one of my favourites and I mentioned it in my video, but I really don’t like the video for this song. I’ll be watching out for your response to the tag!

@@musicisajourney Hi Peter, thank you so much for taking the time to provide me with some links of some of Yano Maki's songs. I really like the second song very upbeat. She has a beautiful voice, I'll definitely listen to more of her music. What insprired you to go to Japan?
@ It was love the got me over, but I think I had a hidden interest in Japan since my young days.
I’m glad you liked one of the songs. Now I really feel like listening to her catalogue again!
Excellent, nice to see something a little different plus I gave you a like simply for the fact you showed CD’s. If you are a real music fan you will not be limited to just vinyl
@@DJWerkz Well, thank you very much! I’m a fan of music. Format is just whatever suits me to have. CDs happen to suit my lifestyle best while satisfying the collector/hoarder in me.
