The screen design, size and quality solves the last big issue I had with Sony. Also having good auto white balance makes working fast so much more easier

Wow.... The tunnel test blew my mind! I never take my 5d mk IV when I'm on my onewheel because the autofocus isn't good enough and it definitely cannot adjust exposure like this in mixed conditions. That was amazing!

Nice video! A couple very useful tests to highlight the capabilities of this camera. I’ve seen a lot of videos on the A7R5 and this is the only one with the tunnel test which was great. I have had the A7R5 for about 2 weeks. There has been little time to get out and shoot but I did an indoor, poorly lit event and I was amazed at how easily I was able to “denoise” the higher ISO files (8000, 10000, even 32000) with Topaz when necessary. Image stabilization worked well. And the screen is awesome. The ability to customize the buttons and dials is the best I have experienced. I don’t do video but I do a wide range of photos. If it proves fast enough for youth sports action photography (primarily soccer) then I will sell my A1.

Not sure if this was covered. What is the stabilisation like for videos and for taking pictures. How does it handle for doing vertical videos?
I find myself using my A7R Mark 3 for handle vertical videos at present because I want to get better quality videos than I can get from a mobile phone and I feel using a gimbal would get in the way of the finer movements

Your new thumbnail is awesome! It's weird that such a good video has relatively low viewcount. Ai autofocus might be a good thing, but the whole ai thing in UA-cam's algorithms is getting crazy. Ask how I know ;)
I will probably still keep my a7c because it's such a great Allrounder.

As always great video. How does the autofocus tracking perform while zooming in and out? I feel a lot of sports and I'm leaving Panasonic and want to come to Sony because Panasonic sucks while zooming, Even in manual focus mode.

How did that 200 to 600 lens in the intro give u so much zoom? I have gh5 with a 300ml lens which is basicly 600 full frame equivalent but I cannot get the same amount of zoom
I'm so glad that a reviewer is shooting the actual review on the camera being reviewed itself. I can't stand it when they use a different camera and there's only like 2 minutes of test footage out of a 20 minute review..

I love my sony A1 and the lens selection but frankly their lack of substantial/meaningful firmware updates is embarrassing!
Even for their "Flagship camera".
Focus breathing compensation came out with A7SIII (OCT 2020) and still not available for the A1!!!! So I don't see the new focus stacking (A7RV) making its way to other models.
Also $1200 for a CF express type A is disgusting!!!

That’s what I thought, the AI AF still has some learning to do. Yes it’s the best available. But it’s still not working to the level they would have you believe. Maybe I’d buy a used one,… for now keep my R4
So Sony finally made a Canon R5 with no 4K120. Since 4K120 is like 1/2 of my entire videos it’s just not replaceable

I doubt this camera is using any "AI" unless it has a NPU connected in real time to a neural network. Otherwise it is not AI, but rather cooked algorithms that respond to given focusing inputs.
Can anyone confirm if this camera has to be somehow connected to the internet for updating its "AI" capabilities?
Of course I am really interested in this camera…. Just can’t afford it. 🤣

TFW the AI AF of the A7RV still only just competes with DPAF on the eos R5, R3 etc...
No ISO performance?
I think the A7IV is amazing Low light camera. I had the A7RIV and it's a huge difference.
I guess it's similar to the A7RIV, I was really looking forward to a new sensor, at least better high ISO performance, little bit disappointed tbh, the screen update is super dope tho.
@@NedlohZ I agree, I had no intention of swapping my A7RIV but I bought my wife the A7IV and the focus and iso performance was next Gen. I wish the this new one had newr A7IV performance but otherwise I feel it's not the camera for me.
@@NedlohZ If you want high ISO they have the S range. You'll never get great low light performance with massive megapixel numbers sadly.
@@tire_reviews True, definitely not expecting it to perform even close to S3 lol. I was more of hoping for a little improvement upon the current 61mp sensor on RIV. Like with RIII and RII, the RIII has the same resolution but slightly better high iso performance.
The R cameras are good in low light but the A7 line is always going to be better because they have smaller sensors. The pattern with the R series is keep the sensor form the model before and perfect it. Image quality hasn’t really substantially changed since the R2 cameras now are just that good in image quality
What a cool camera, totally overpriced though considering the materials used and they didn't really do anything new.... it's just compiled features from other cameras.
I could never own one for audio/video production, because of that cropping issue. SUPER annoying.
fondamentalmente hanno aggiunto due cose molto interessanti ma hanno tralasciato la cosa più importante e che tutti i possessori di a7rIV si aspettavano : la resa ad alti ISO!
in una fotocamera dedicata al portrait e paesaggistica direi che era il minimo che potevano e dovevano fare, e invece sono andati ad implemementare funzioni e caratteristiche che addirittura vanno a pestare i piedi all'attuale ammiraglia a1 e ancor di più alla a9.
Sony ha sempre introdotto le novità prima di tutto sull'ammiraglia e poi nelle fotocamere degli altri segmenti...questa decisione di introdurrre queste novità sulla a7rV proprio non la condivido ,soprattutto perchè ce n'erano di cose ben più importanti da migliorare.
Come la a7rIV sopra i 6400 ISO ci vorrà martello e scalpello per levigare il rumore, nel comparto video hanno aggiunto 8k e tutti ad entusiasmarsi,ma nessuno che va a vedere la qualità di questo 8k...contando che per ora la ripresa in 8k viene utilizzata per croppare in post,la qualità non è assolutamente all'altezza di altri marchi, in più è presente un rolling shutter evidentissimo che rende le riprese inutilizzabili o poco utilizzabili con panning o soggetti in movimento laterale, e ok c'è sempre il 4k,4k che fps a parte(specchietto per allodole)è uguale alla a7rIV e cioè molto più impastato del 4k della ottima a7IV e con il sempre pessimo rolling shutter(venduta la a7rIV per a1 proprio per la qualità video molto scarsa.
Il tutto proposto a 4500 euro con feature video (8k e 4k 60fps)inserite più per giustificare il prezzo che per essere realmente utilizzabili in riprese dinamiche.
Tutti impressinati dal sistema di messa a fuoco e nessuno che va a vedere la velocità di lettura del sensore...senza una rapida lettura del processore di un sitema af di questo tipo te ne fai gran poco in certe situazioni.
bah...grande delusione. Come utilizzatore Sony fin dalla prima a7 (e come tanti altri utilizzatori e anche videomaker di fama mondiale)sono molto deluso dal comportamento di Sony. Inserire funzioni evolute su macchine dal costo decisamente inferiore alle ammiraglie e lasciar fuori le stesse ammiraglie che avrebbero diritto a queste feature è un comportamento che ha fatto arrabbiare più di qualcuno...di sicuro prima di spendere ancora tutti questi soldi in un ammiraglia che dopo pochi mesi vedo superata da una fotocamera minore ,ci penserò mille volte.
