Hyacinth macaw's always look like they are smilling, Birds are such wonderful creations.
ikrrrr
Brown__Gamer yes they are
except when they lay eggs and get protecc-tive
Until they scream their lungs out
@@breezyg7652 they are animals not human beings and we kill, capture, care, protect them.
We have friends, entertainment, etc but all they have is us.
you can hear bandit in the back saying bandit
Bandit died, some months ago. It's probably Cressie saying it
@@outoftime7740 obviously you don't pay attention, the video clips are old i.e before Bandit passed away.
@@outoftime7740 And Cressie isnt very good at talking. she can only really say he name clearly.
@@outoftime7740 I guess you are out of time
i grew up with a hyacinth macaw and i would love to adopt one when i'm older. so far i've fostered lots of small birds, i want to start doing more with medium/larger sized birds and then hopefully i'll be ready for my own hyacinth
I wish everyone was as responsible as you, getting so much experience before getting such a high maintenance bird
Hey if u want a large or medium bird get a alexandrine parakeet there great
Too bad they cost 40 grand.
@@hillolmondal8625 what? They don’t!
@@birdiiii now a days they cost a lot like thousands of USD ($5k-12k+)
God they are huge birds.
They are, though still at risk of hawks and other birds of prey :/
Very risky flying them outside
@@SmalltimR and that's why finding a good free fly location and training your bird appropriately before free flying is important.
The largest of all macaws
@@SmalltimR I'm not sure but out here I don't see those kind of big birds flying out here, anyway if I were a bird I wouldn't wanna attack a Moluccan cockatoo like my own lol, they are sweet but their bites are deadly..
@@bekeneel Unless a hawk is hungry or just has the perfect moment, they will rarely attack birds bigger than themselves.
All birds are threatened by hawks, but hyacinths are close to the lowest in danger.
Omg Jinx's face popping through the crate bars at 3:22 made me laugh out loud. He is too cute!
A few years ago I was in a local pet store and saw Hyacinths (NOT being sold! They were just hanging out there being taken care of while their humans were on vacation!) and that was when I realized how BIG those guys really are. And it was so intimidating for someone that didn’t know much about birds.
Hyacinth Macaws were my uncles specialty when he bred them, i think he had around 20 pairs or more! he bred hundreds of pairs of birds, but these were the parrots that made me fall in love with them as they are such gentle giants :D
I wonder what happened to them all? If only people were forced to get a parrot training licence/..so many do not lead happy lives :(
@@mstarr4812 he unfortunately passed away and they are kept in his rescue zoo in Saudi! Where he looked after then to his dying days
Technically, Hyacinth Macaws ARE Dream Birbs to me because they’re big, smart and adorable-but they are also loud and require resources I will probably not be able to afford. That said, I’d love to major in Cognitive Ethology and study Parrots, so it’d be a great excuse to work with them and advocate for their welfare.
There was a Hyacinth for a long time at my local bird store where a lot of birds my parents have had over the years (including my current bird of 23 years). It was always a highlight of the trip to play with him. Like Hymie in this video, this macaw really liked going on people's shoulders. So I would rarely pick him up and just play with him instead. Eventually though I figured I could retain control by gripping both of his feet. Eventually he was sold, and I hope he's happy. He was extremely friendly and playful, but needed a firm hand to set boundaries. Always thought Hyacinths were a lot of fun, but given how huge they are, how much they cost, and how long they live, I would never get one myself.
What a sweet baby blue dinosaur having so much fun with you! How are people not terrified to make one mistake or that the bird will get mad and bite their face?!? Hayme doesn’t look like he’d hurt a fly though 🥰
Omg when I heard bandit 😭I miss his talking!!! It was precious. 🤍
What a wonderful bird and wonderful story. Yes, Hymie trained so quickly because he is intelligent, but your patience, clarity, and sensitivity to him were essential, particularly in that you immediately sought to make a relationship with him. That is what good teaching is about - animal or human! You inspire me. Brava!
I absolutely adore Hyacinth Macaws. They’re gorgeous, friendly, intelligent birds. The Hyacinth Macaw is truly a magnificent species, and a great companion if you want a huge commitment like that.
there was a lady awhile back selling a hyacinth because she bought a giant avery and spend like £6000 on this bird to then realise a few weeks later that she didnt like birds. like hunni surely you should evaluate whether you like birds before getting a hyacinth macaw lmaoo
Emmylyn Perkeroid wtffff, don’t understand how anyone wouldn’t love these gentle giants.
@@knogne5073 yeah I know!! absolute beauties
K Nogne ehhh well theyre quite messy and huge i only have a budgie and hes a bit too messy theyre also quite stubborn and mean if u tames
@zσmσk вєαn have you had birds before?
I used to have budgies a million years ago and never figured out how they got poop on the ceiling.
I live in Santa Barbara and for YEARS a pair of Hyacinths would periodically fly around and circle our house... they were breathtaking and fun to see!!!
Yes, we want to see more, love your project bird series.
Great video! Loved seeing you work with Hymie. You are a great bird trainer! Love ya!
Thanks for sharing this!!! beautiful bird, and so exciting the progress you were able to make with him!
Such a gorgeous bird 🦜looks like he was really easy to train. I love 💗 bandit so much, RIP baby boy
I was looking for this comment, I heard his lil voice and it was bittersweet. ❤️ Bandit boy.
He's amazing. Your channel really makes me want to have a bird companion so much.
*Good stuff would enjoy seeing more like this...*
Love that. I have to say since I have started watching your videos I have grown a lot with our cockatoo he knew I was scared of him because he would always bite me. But I have learned a lot and now we can sit and enjoy each other it is great.
Wow, that's lovely! Well done 🌺
I love the journeys you share with individual birds. It helps to fully appreciate them as a being and to realize how much we are taught and have to learn in life as we grow, and a great reminder to be patient in realizing that not everything comes intuitively. As well, in watching your videos I am continuously relearning how important communication is and consistency reinforces established communication.
Bird Tricks is so amazing and I am so thankful for this channel! And I'm not even a bird owner or care-taker!😄
Awesome. Gave me some ideas about what I need to try with my bird - who knows absolutely NOTHING! HE LOVED hearing your baby birds - he was calling right back to them! Thank you for sharing this! 💖💝♥️
Hi Jamie! I love to watch all of your training videos. You and Dave are truly the bird whisperers of the world! Everything I watch is so informative. Would love to see more stationing videos!
Hymie is stunning💗 he seems like such a sweet bird! Its amazing how you can completely change a bird’s life and give them a better one😊 this is why I love what you do💞
Loved it!!!!! I love Hyacinth Macaws. They’re just incredible.
Yes, I would love to see more like this. Thank you!
I'm so proud of you for being monetized!!
I very much enjoyed watching you train Hymie. Your persistence and discipline is exciting to watch. Thankyou. Merry Christmas to you and your birds! 🌲🌲🌲
Cool Video. A nice recap of so many things. :) And as a fellow subscriber pointed out, there is a new bird on the list! Very excited to see the training and diet applied to a smaller bird!!
Love this video. Would love to see more like it 100% 👍🏽
So what I’m seeing is that the “dream bird” is one you train from day one to avoid bad habits

Awww sweet Bandit in the back ground going " Bandit! Bandit boy! Bandit boy! ". I miss that little cutie. Also little bubba man in the bag was so so cute!
I loved the other birds saying "Good Bird" in the background, when Hymie did smthg right! That was too cute!
I love your videos! I have a bird boarding business in VA :D I find your videos very helpful in learning different ways to work with different types of birds. I especially loved the video about body language because in my line of work recognizing these behaviors quickly so it is a good experience for you and not a hazard is key :)
I love these kinds of videos! I started watching you guys from the Morgan series! And now i cant get enough of birds😂❤️
I'm a new subscriber and any of your videos seem real fascinating- Thanks !
My goodness what a beauty. So striking! I have a blue quaker but that bird is BLUE! Thanks for sharing this old footage. It was cool to see into the past!
Thank you. That was so informative.
That is a perfect name for a big beautiful bird
Edit: omg look at little fluff monster jinxie!
I'd have to give him some kind of a regal name, he is so majestic.
Except for the part where hymie is a derogatory term for a Jewish person. 🤣 Source: am Jew
@@TheKitchenNinja And it's Spanish for James. I never knew it was an insult to Jews! Wow! That just shows how easy it is to insult someone without realizing it or meaning to! I bet that's created many awkward moments and misunderstandings!
Fascinating. You are so good at communicating!
Loved the video! You guys are awesome!!
What a stunning boy. I absolutely love hyacinth’s. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Jamie for being a constant source of inspiration an education. You really do make me want to be a better bird owner. I only have small to medium Birds Cockatiels and a conure but so much of what you teach on your website and your UA-cam can be applied thank you so much
I will gladly watch whatever you post. Respect from the UK
Jamie, I would love to see more! It was incredible how quickly he caught on, and I hope you have some video with him free flying. Curious too about which of your babies was saying in the background, sounded like "careful", whatever was said it was really sweet. Thanks for getting my Monday off with a smile.
I sadly only ever got photos and very little video of him free flying, mostly just walking around in the grass! I couldn't seem to find much footage from back then. Wish I took more but our camera back then was hugeeee and not convenient to use n an every day basis.
Totally understand, but looking forward to what's up next. Hope you, Dave and Capri, are safe and staying healthy. Thank you for all the hard work and content you share.
Think that was bandit in the back ground.
Very good video on Hymmie, enjoyed, thankyou.
Mother Nature provides us with such beautiful animals, plants, flowers, mountain scapes, you name it.What a beautiful bird.Thank you for this post from one bird lover to another.
Gorgeous bird and he learned so well.
He seems so sweet and gentle!
I just adopted a 15 year old blue and gold and she sounds very similar to this hyacinth! Very excited for this series so I can apply it to Bella! ❤🦜
That was great! Your so talented.
Watching his progress was so satisfying. Proud of this sweet boy! Hyacinths are my favourites after Eclectus.
"Stick em up!" -- never seen that one before!
I don’t have a bird. Not sure if I would want a bird… but watching you interact with each bird is Nothing short of AMAZING! Yes! I want to see EVERY BIRD you have ever worked with! I want all the details! Always! I watch you by the hour/day! Birds are like kids I guess. You can’t fool the , and they KNOW when they’re Loved! I love you and I Love what you bring out of each bird. I used to raise and Show Siamese I LOVED having babies on the ground. When you put extra into those creations you have in your home… the trust, the Love eagerness to be with you is so gratifying. So I kinda understand how you get into the birds heads & think like they do. You get the acceptance & Preference for you back from those magnificent creatures! Don’t ever stop filming and showing us what your doing! I feel like your Family actually. Thank you I’ll 4EVER be a fan

What a beautiful and wonderful process you have to get an attachment with this beautiful bird ❤️🥰
This was so much fun to watch. I think this video just goes to show it's not about the quality of the resolution or up to date amazing production of a video, it's all about the content.
yes show more of these!
Just beautiful, thanks so much x
What a sweet beautiful boy. Awesome job done.
This was a great video. Just saying. So much 'loose' usefull information. Just daily stational cues and overall daily work. Pre flight cues that work. Cues that help in the long run. So much info and help. You guys are great!❤👏

The big blue bird, absolutely amazing creatures, I love them and really enjoyed this video
I love to watch videos for your project birds!
Really enjoyed this!!!
Fabulous video loved every minute your training is spectacular and so precise 😍🤩🐦
Glad you challenge him with aspects like the foraging
Wow... what a beautiful BIG bird !!! The biggest bird we've got is a cockatiel named Frankie Bird.... He knows about 20 or so different phrases including "Matty poo poo," "Got your tail" (a game Matt plays with him)
"Phew, Phew, Phew what stinks" , "Bye, Bye" ; "Frank-Keeeeee Bird" : "Whatcha doing" , etc. He's got quite a personality... plus we've got 3 parakeets & one cat (a maine coon named Bailey). I love watching your training videos so keep up the great work !!!
Loved hearing bandit in the background 😍
Great video!!! I need to learn more about stationing; I think this is exactly what my IRN needs!! 👏👏👏
This was a great video 👍 you should do more of these videos
I would like to see more of your training videos. I very much enjoy you guys and your beautiful birds🌺🌼🌻🌸❤
Such a majestic bird.
such a beautiful bird! And the footage holds up well enough lol. I'm interested in hearing how he is doing now and if the owner kept up with flight training etc.
So I'm watching a video about a hyacinth, and the budgie sounds in the background is reminding me how much I miss having them around!
Awesome! Beautiful bird.
I donate to and regularly visit a local bird sanctuary which you can visit and handle the birds. They have a hyacinth macaw (Neville) who is one of my favourites there; so playful and friendly.
amazing video! Hymie is so cute
I own a blue and gold and have handled a hyacinth many times. I love how gentle they can be!
Hymie is such a cutie! I don't think I would personally ever get a hyacinth but I definitely love them.
It was so weird watching the videos of Hymie and not seeing Capri next to you watching, learning, and helping!
I love watching your videos and yes I would like more videos like this 😁
Great vid. We have a Green Wing and yep he was a shoulder rusher too....trained him and now he doesn't even feel comfortable up there after 3yrs.....he likes to stay on forearms....still working to get him to be on your hand with thumb over one foot....some success there, always a work in progress. Anyway, lots of people think they want the big birds......maybe you could do videos on how hard they really are. Like how much they eat, how quickly they destroy $30+ toys, how needy they get when bored, how noisy they can be when bored or even just crazy noisy they are when happy. Don't forget the messes they make...and don't forget big bird equals big poop and lots of it. Also how about how smart, mischievous, and manipulating they can really be. When our GW is bored and wants to play with the other birds like our cockatiel, he will go let him out of his cage. How about how quirky they can be as individuals, if we don't change out one of our GW stands poop papers down below it, he will pull the papers off himself and throw them around. Im sure big bird owners have lots of fun(?)quirky bird stories. All that said he is a member of the family and we couldn't be without him......but some days he pushes that pretty hard....🤦
You’re Amazing!! You’re a Parrot Whisperer! 🤗🤗
Loved the vid .... amazing that Hymie was able to crack open that macadamia nut .... I have trouble whacking it with a hammer. My heart skipped hearing Bandit in the background ... so nice to hear his voice. You are such an amazing trainer and he responded so well to you ..... Fly Hymie fly 🦜... you all stay safe over there in the USA .... 😷😷😷😷😷😷😷😷
Thanks for the video.
Hyacinth or Scarlet are on the top of my list, once I sort out my own forever home.
I see so much similarities in the why I did dog training with my Husky.
and watching your video's is reinforcing that I can do this, if I have the space for it.
Especially Free Flight, which would be a must for me.
