I must say Mr. Whitt you are very good at teaching Mathematics. Your videos are concise and very comprehensible. You and Khan Academy are by far the best sources for tutorials. Keep up the good work Mr. Whitt !
Thank you so much you really helped me. Most teachers only show you one way to do a problem and it just was not clicking with me until I seen this. Thanks again. You teach very well.
May I say you are the best math tutor that has ever taught me. I have finals on Tuesday and I've been watching some of your videos to help me out and fully understand what I'm doing with the math packets I was assigned. Thank you very much and may god bless you! (:
I LOVE to use the final method as I always use that method to compare the differences in the price per kg/liter/etc of stuffs that are sold in different sizes. Like 1.5kg of Sugar = $10 and 2kg of Sugar = $14 for example to get a bigger bang out of every buck lol. Anyways, take note that the 1.5kg is cheaper than the 2kg version (I calculated it). It's good to calculate things as you might come across brands that uses the popular "bigger volume = bigger value" concept against you to make an extra profit out of you whenever you go for the bigger volume as I have come across brands that uses this.
For -1/2x - 7, you solve the first problem by multiplying by -2. But after you cancel out the 2s, what are you dividing to get positive x? Does -2 have a denominator of -1?
Your videos are great I am learning so much, however, did you mean multiply both sides by a common denominator or by the denominator. BYW I'm older than the guy I his 40's and have returned to college. This is the best and you should have the online learning contract :) with this school.
Im looking for a video that solves this type of equation: 1/x + 1/y= 8 & 3/x - 5/y=0 one question using any method. I just can't remember how to do this! HELP lol :)
I used the first equation to introduce all of the methods then applied those various methods to the remaining problems. Just what I thought was best at the time for people’s attention spans and the length of the video.
Thanks so much for the compliments! Glad to be a help to you and I appreciate the comment!
I've been recommending Fort Bend Tutoring to all of my friends with kids who are struggling with math. You make math easy! 🤓

Do you have a tutorial on how to solve literal equations?
Sure! Check this video out! ua-cam.com/video/mFk0q-qZDUo/v-deo.html
For -1/2x - 7, you solve the first problem by multiplying by -2. But after you cancel out the 2s, what are you dividing to get positive x? Does -2 have a denominator of -1?
No, -2 can be written as -2/1 or 2/-1. I'm using the former so after canceling the -2's, I'm left with "x".

nice..
I'm looking for a video that solves this type of equations: - X/5 + Y/2 =1 I need to find three points to plot them on the X and Y graph.
+Jammin Dave Eliminate the fractions by multiplying each term by 10, then follow the steps in this video: ua-cam.com/video/vzIv62JZqK4/v-deo.html
pretty cool... pretty cool
+Wilson Lin Thanks Wilson!

Multiply by the common denominator. Thanks 4 watching Shelli!
Why can't my professor teach like this!!!! Simple!!!!
It's so funny how when your at school and your not understanding stuff and u grab ur device and u go on UA-cam and u understand it😂
Yes it is Jada! Thanks 4 sharing! 👨🏾🏫😁
i love this Thanks I got it, That was Easy!!!!!-😃😃😃😃
y-1/2y=3 what is the answer?
You tell us! Check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/10TJfOy3H-w/v-deo.html or setup a paid online tutorial session at www.TutorMeMath.net.
I know this is late but isn't the answer y= -(one fifth)? I got that answer using the "cross multiplication" method.
Im looking for a video that solves this type of equation: 1/x + 1/y= 8 & 3/x - 5/y=0 one question using any method. I just can't remember how to do this! HELP lol :)
+michelle compton Try number 5 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/SOfpTlIKnw0/v-deo.html
You did the first equation 4 ways but not all the equations why is that
I used the first equation to introduce all of the methods then applied those various methods to the remaining problems. Just what I thought was best at the time for people’s attention spans and the length of the video.
Never mind my comment from the last video hahaha
😎
Lol question who is that old women? she is hilarious lol
Lol That's Chuck Knipp! He is a very funny man! Lol
Second way to do it is more complicated....than the first one.
+Jammin Dave I'll keep that in mind Dave! Thanks 4 your feedback!
But again, the third way to do it is kind of easy 2. Thanks for all of your input, appreciated.
+Jammin Dave When I can, I like 2 give you options! Enjoy!
