I remember the Scorpion used to come complete with a handsome looking cocking aid made of black glass filled plastic & could be left on while shooting. Always wanted one but were pretty expensive in the day!
Two great pistols i had the bsa scorpion and its a great pistol but got lost in amove some were good shooting and thanks for your time
I dont want to preach to the wise but I would not want to see the barrel slam shut on any ones fingers, the first lesson Marcus dean scudamore was taught as a break barrel spring rifle was to keep a hand on the barrel when the gun is cocked and your loading..but the b,s,a scorpion' bloody good show and thanks for the memories.. I had one in a 177 caliber..auto safety catch and a solid engagement in the trigger mechanism. God bless and all the best..marcus dean scudamore, in the UK.
BSA Scorpion's like either
BSA/Pylam or Ely Wasp Pellets
They are the Best for British Airguns
I have quite a few over the years I've collected them
Cheers Paul
From Yorkshire Great Britain 👍
That’s some good Shooting my friend nice groups out of both of them
I noticed that when you were shooting the heavier pellets from the HW70 there was a puff of air from the breech on every shot. Unfortunately the target was moved to the top left corner of the screen so I couldn't see if there was a similar puff with the light pellets. Anyway, I would guess that either the breech seal needs to be replaced or a spacer placed behind it. Tightening the screw in the breech block might also help. :)
Enjoyed it sir
My .177 Scorpion still has it's factory cocking aid and it fits more or less as yours does, yours is longer. Have you tried keeping yours on when firing?
All groups looked good to me
Liked your testing hoping the HW70 would produce tighter grouping on the bull , may be a Zinc pellet would be more suitable, been thinking of getting the HW70 .
Definitely a nice springer!
Now you need an umarex trevox to compare them to 😁
Your the second person to suggest that!
@@WalnutandSteel mainly because I wanted one but it is shooting too fast to be sold "on the shelf" here 😁
Id like to see it still!
The benjamin NP looked fun too! They detuned the first one but I cant find the newer model
Hi Nibbs! Do you know when the HW70 came on the market. I have a mint one in original box with serilal number 111714 and according the Weihrauch database it seems to be 1961. Cheers!
Best I can find is the hw70 began production in the early to mid 70’s.
@@WalnutandSteel Thanks Nibbs. The Weihrach database says air rifles and i don't know if this also includes air pistols. Year 1961 is comming upp with serial number 111714
I did find that database too. I don’t think 1961 is right for your unit
Never heard of a Viral air gun….also you refer to the “front barrel”….has it got a rear barrel as well?
The name of the company Weihrauch that made the hw70 is pronounced “vy-row”
@@WalnutandSteel Not in the UK and the EU.
Every UA-camr in England pronounces virock and thats not proper german pronunciation
In the Midlands we call them wine racks 😅
