I think the most underrated part of his talent is just how incredible of a composer he is. Don't let his immaculate technique and performance skills overshadow the fact that this man is taking other people's music and using it as a blueprint to then create new works of music that raise it to higher levels of technique composition and emotional depths than where it started. It's amazing.

I feel like Charles is similar to Paul Gilbert. His skills are...insane. His technique, his ability, and toolbox, how many genres he plays. Bananas, right? But people forget he's a musical genius. He's not JUST an insane player. He has a mind boggling understanding of the language of music. And people forget, because God dammit when he goes ham, it's mesmerizing.
Absolutely agree. It seems many see the surface level (the musical talent) and pay no mind to the composition and all that goes into. It's sad really.

God I love this arrangement. It sounds difficult to play, but it keeps the sound super chill instead of just being all over the place like most “impossible” covers are. That, in my mind, shows true mastery of your craft! I’d love to put this on my spotify playlists!!

It's easy to think that bass sucks when most bassists suck. But there are many bands where their bassists do an amazing job, and aren't just the backing for the guitar.
The most underrated musician is always the teabaggist. Imagine being Charles and having to grind a teabag against your guitar for 3 minutes straight before you can actually do the rest of the music.
At this point, I just know I can like the video then proceed to enjoy.

okay number 10 is easily the hardest here. I can't even say literally a few words if I'm even just holding whole notes. It could be my most rehearsed simplest bassline ever. I could be playing god damned smoke on the water but if I try and talk I either sound like it causes me physical pain to speak, or I somehow fuck up the EASIEST bassline in the world. props.
