- The Furious Five weren't in The Dragon Knight, The Paws of Destiny or the first official trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4, so where are they?! We haven't seen them since the third film and The Legends of Awesomeness, so what could they have been doing after all of these years? Today, I go through everything we know about what the Furious Five will be up to in Kung Fu Panda 4 and what I hope their future holds.

I recall in a legend of awesomeness episode something about at least one member of furious 5 per generation turned evil.
I'm just saying they may acknowledge that fact in the possible far future.

Well Tigress kinda mattered as much as anyone besides Po since she did more than any other sideline character but yeah with them not being in the dragon knight and paws of destiny it is like they were preparing people for their absence in the film.
@@Dragon-pc8rx They are not in, But they are mentioned, If you remember the part where the 4 little pandas met and being bullied by the 4 constellation warriors, They mentioned like it was the time where the Furious Five didn't approved Po being the Dragon Warrior, One of them is said she's a huge fan of Tigress and Po even said that the one who tries to be the leader of her panda team reminded him like Tigress. So they were at least mentioned as i remember, But in Dragon Knights, They are not seen or mentioned at all.
Yet we never had an answer as to how come Tigress is the only known Tiger in China while there are no other tigers besides White Tiger?
I really hope they aren't sidelined. They are an integral part of Po's life, and they haven't been given time to give them more depth, minus Tigress. And yes, I do believe Tigress should be continued in being shown more since she's also been a big role for Po.
They were sidelined hard in the third movie, so I fear it may be even worse in this one. 😬

I think either Tigress needs to take over from Shifu or return to the orphanage and make that into a school for students who were abandoned or orphaned.
I think it would be cool if Tigress found a way to combine the orphanage she grew up in with the jade palace allowing anyone who wanted to learn king fu a space to do so but also offering shelter for those with nowhere to go

They do. It's called appearing only at the end of the movie and having a minuscule 0.2 seconds amount of screen time

I would love to see Tigress become Shifu's successor, the others become masters and a new Furious Five come to be. That would be awesome
She is better than Tai Lung as Shifu’s place.
If there will be a new Furious five team, my guess is Zhen will most likely be a part of it with Po leading it, perhaps

Because even though they are five very fierce fighters, we all know that they are still five individuals and all five have different likings, hobbies, and backgrounds
Hmm. That is interesting. They like to change stories too, though.
This wasn’t organized as part of the story, though 😅 when Dreamworks’ management changed, most of the original team were replaced. The story wasn’t necessarily promised to be 6 parts, but it was definitely supposed to follow one story line. Since Po’s was (I think) resolved with the third movie, a lot of things had to have shifted.
Maybe we'll see Tigress interact with Tai Lung. I'm kinda curious about it since they are technically siblings adopted by Master Shifu
My guess is that Po will initially try to give the Dragon Warrior Title to Tigress to make up for the past but she will decline the offer: traveling and discovering her origin for her Inner Peace, relocating to the Panda Village, or taking over as the New Caretaker of Bao Gu Orphanage. She will ultimately trust in Po with his decision.

@@meep.boing.69 I know, hence why she would turn it down. Initially she wanted it as a means to make Shifu proud but now she's a different person. Even in the TV Show she reneged on her choice of a life of only Kung Fu and chose to have friends by her side - Po especially as she lost her will and spirit twice when Po supposedly died twice (one time he did). Po will most likely redeem Tai Lung, reunite him with his father Shifu and sister Tigress, and claim Tai Lung earned the Dragon Warrior Title. Zhen will probably decline the Title in the end but agree to become the New Leader of the New Furious Five.

That’s a very good question, however they said they confirmed that The Furious 5 will appear in Kung Fu Panda 4 but why didn’t they appear in the Trailer unless they retired or they were captured by The Chameleon

I do think tigress will get a big role, as the villains represent the important character,(Tai lung is for shifu, shen for po and Kai for oogway) I think tigress is the next most important character and the chameleon is the first female villain. Also they have the same vibes
Personally I think they should make a furious five spin off series during the time that po was out of the valley during paws of destiny and how they handled the Pangea crisis or as I call it the earth crust displacement debacle in the valley of peace and how they handled it

I think it was said that they were going to go on thier own "missions" during the films duration, but I don't think it's been confirmed yet.
I do hope that they will show up and have a vital part to play in this story.

You know what... Tigress becoming the new senior master of the Jade Palace and forming a new Furious Five would be such a fantastic and natural continuation to her arc. Also, of course the other members of the Five are in dire need of something of their own (especially Viper in my opinion, even in the first TV series she got the least focus and the least amount of dialogue, she only ever got one episode as a starring role). I honestly had zero issue with their absence, mainly because we are being told they are off on their own missions, even if we don't see them, it is a good thing to put these characters on the bus and let them go elsewhere rather than just being Po's glorified sidekicks who exist in frame but contribute little to nothing to the narrative, kind of like how Dragon Ball treats it's suporting cast, they may as well be cardboard cutouts.
Anyway, a Furious Five spin-off movie (or TV show or comic run) certainly has potential. Which could take place from their perspective during their adjacent adventures off-screen.
I hope 3 things will happen in Kung-fo Panda 4.
-We'll get the furious five
-Tai Lung comes back and he gets a redemption arc, aka become a good guy
-Lastly, they put a good effort to make it a great movie just like the previous 3
I have a feeling that they went on a mission to investigate a disturbance, that being the Chameleon without knowing it. The Chameleon captures the five, steals their Kung fu skills, and now Po has a reason to LOOK for the Chameleon in the first place. If that’s not a good reason they’re absent, I don’t what is. I just hope they do appear

I'm looking forward to Kung Fu Panda 4 all the same, but I understand Isaac's argument for a Tigress spin-off and I understand his reasoning why she should've been Shifu's successor. I mean, she's stood out among the Furious Five from the beginning.

There would be, it’s that Kai would take over the Mortal realm
If Shen won in KFP 2 then obviously he would’ve expended his brutal regime across all of China and eventually the world, he would’ve also eventually discovered the secret panda village and I think we all know what happens from there. And there would be nobody to stop Kai from taking over the mortal world and everybody knows Shen doesn’t stand one chance against a powerful spiritual being like Kai.

I had a similar theory in regards to this, along with how Po must find a successor to the title and mantle of Dragon Warrior. Now, it seems to be all but a given that said successor will be Zhen a fox Po meets in KFP4, voiced by Awkwafina.
Now, while I like Awkwafina, and regard her as an excellent voice actress, I'm not sure I'm partial to her character Zhen being Po's successor. Which led me to the theory that Po might train multiple students, perhaps forming a new generation of the Furious Five, and they would be the candidates to be his potential successor as Dragon Warrior.
This would hearken back to the first film, when Tigress, Monkey, Mantis, Viper and Crane had all stepped up to possibly be chosen by Master Oogway for the title of Dragon Warrior... only for destiny to step in with Po's unexpected appearance, which inspired Oogway to choose the panda instead of one of the Furious Five (and everyone knows that it seemed like Oogway would have chosen Tigress had Po not dropped in).
Ultimately, Po proved Oogway right, overcoming many obstacles, challenges, traumas, and especially foes, like Tai Lung, Shen, and Kai.
So what if history repeated itself in a similar manner? Po has a new gen of the F5 trained to potentially succeed him, only for an unexpected arrival to inspire him to do the same and choose someone else entirely
But it would also make sense for Tigress to train the next gen of the F5, who knows?
Kung Fu Panda was meant to be six films, so perhaps more will be revealed as the story continues to unfold
As an Asian, I hate Aquafina, her voice gives me a headache. But this time I didn’t even recognize her annoying scratchy voice, which is good.
Yeah well I don't like where this fourth film is going. It's losing its chinese essences and its heartwarming characters. Although I get the way they're trying to move along the story-theres some flaws. I mean the fox is odd, and the new city name is trash (Juniper City) not even Chinese-and Pos already been to a city so why is that different. Anyways it's a let down but hopefully it's not trash.

Magnifico was the bad guy for not granting every wish . But a lot of the wishes didn't even need magic to grant. But making people forget their wish even his motives were in universe debatable .

I wish Po gave the role of the Dragon Warrior to Tigress. She's been the leader of the Furious 5 since KF1 and it would make sense for her to protect the Valley of Piece with the other Furious 5. Even though Zhen will be taking care of the Dragon Warrior, I hope she's a really good character.

Yeah, I don't think Tigress would be happy to just be given the title now. Not only has she long accepted that Po is the Dragon Warrior, but her time to have actually earn that title is kind of past, so being given it now by Po because he has an even greater title and destiny now would be more like being given a participation trophy.

Tigress is such a big part of Po’s character. It’ll be a shame if we don’t see them interact much in the new movie. After several years, so many people have been looking forward to seeing them together again. However minor Tigress’ role is, I hope her screen time is at least somewhat meaningful.
They're my favorite part of the franchise personally.

I have seen 3 separate trailers: one had the furious five train with po to stop chameleon, the second had the baby pandas take over to help po stop chameleon and by the time it gets to the 3rd trailer its another whole group with po...3 different movie ideas?

Alot of people ship Po and Tigress. Because he is her favourite member of the Furious Five and combined with the fact they were orphaned as infants.
Because of this they grew much closer. To the point where they can read each other's movements in training and when they are fighting an enemy.

Tigress should be the next Dragon Warrior, she's no longer arrogant and has learned with Po
While she is a great candidate I think she would be better suited as a teacher like Shifu. The Dragon Warrior is always someone you wouldn’t expect, like Po when he was selected. A redeemed Tai Lung seems to be a better choice

I do hope that it’s because Director “Mike Mitchell” is avoiding giving out spoiler alerts so that when either the next trailer or when the theatrical release comes out, it will be made a very big surprise for where and where and how they will be appearing in Kung Fu Panda 4. I also do hope that Po and Tigress will be able to get together given that they do very great together after everything that they’ve been through together and that Tigress decides that the Jade Palace is her home and that her loyalty is to Po and that she would not want to go back to a life without Po nor leave Po’s side.

Co-director Stephanie Ma Stine actually shed light on this topic and it’s honestly kinda WILD.
Simply put, back when studios like DreamWorks and Pixar were in their early years, the reason they managed to nab so many A-list celebrities despite being unable to afford their usual rates was because they set up a specific contract.
The contract basically stated, to quote her:
_”Do the first movie for X amount of money with X percentage of residuals, and every subsequent movie or sequel, you get an exponential increase”_
So basically, due to this contract from like, over 20 years ago, each Kung Fu Panda sequel demanded an EXPONENTIAL INCREASE in pay for all returning VAs. And with the fourth installment, the Furious Five officially became TOO EXPENSIVE TO BRING BACK.
Reportedly EVERYONE on board from the directors to writers to animators wanted the Furious Five in the movie, but short of negotiating a new contract with the actors (or recasting them) their hands were tied.
I think they WILL be in it they're A LOT of fans favorites and before Po became the dragon warrior they were his IDOLS and now his close friends/family and the movie wouldn't be the same without them!

I think The furious Fives Missing in the two recent Media’s is that they were finding their own following and doing things that had them separate from Po and then in KongFu Panda 4 they will reunite with Po in the final Battle for once more before they all go their Separate ways.

It is a Disney book series and web series (the books are by Shana Muldoon Zappa and Ahmet Zappa) that tells the story of twelve girls from an alien race called Starlings who live on a world called Starland who go down to earth in order to collect positive wish energy so that they can combat the negative wish energy that is harming their home.
The five main characters are Sage, Libby, Leona, Vega, Scarlet
I feel like not enough people know about the existence of Star Darlings and that it ended too soon

I think I know why the furious 5 are not in Kung Fu Panda 4. You know that scene in the third one. When Tigress Uses a Chi empowered dropkick on Kai And but she was wearing a different robe. A golden one. Then what she was wearing in KFP2 or 1. The moral of the story here is that all the members of the furious 5 became masters. And possibly got their kung fu Stolen by the chameleon. Because maybe before po tries to find this chameleon. Villain, the furious 5 did it and failed. And had their Kung Fu stolen. By the chameleon. Actually you're right - the absence of The Furious Five in Kung Fu Panda 4 is because they escaped to the hills to avoid the Chameleon from stealing their kung fu prowess.
The other reason is because Po was supposed to find the new Dragon Warrior himself but had to change course because the Chameleon played sorcery. Then Tai Lung reappears and redeemed himself.
They cameoed in The Paws of Destiny and The Dragon Knight as toys.

Is the duo of Po and Zhen going to be similar to how Oogway and Kai were close friends, but later Kai turns bad? This could be a slow development. I had this in mind because Oogway too was betrayed multiple times in his young days.
You got that a bit wrong, actually. Kai and Oogway were indeed friends, but it was actually Oogway who 'changed' and betrayed Kai, not the other way around. Oogway and Kai were warlords, fighting and conquering across China. Kai was _always_ a bad guy, but was legit friends with Oogway who was his brother in war. But when Oogway was injured and Kai took him to the pandas, Oogway learned the ways of chi and had a change of heart, turning away from the dark path he'd been on. Kai however remained the same and merely wanted to weaponize chi, but was legit surprised when Oogway fought him... hence Oogway was the one who actually did the betraying (for good tho, so that makes it okay)
It might be an off screen thing plus trailers can be misleading sometimes i wonder if a new furious five will be chosen.
