I love your sense of humor (who is filling these boxes up with liquid :) and your straight forward review. You are also a class act for not spooking those ladies on their horses. There are a lot of motorcycle riders out there that make the public hate us. Great job!
Your comments about what you think your going to do with that bike and what you realistically do, was spot on. I would have a Africa Twin tomorrow if i had incredible trips planned to where I could use it. But unfortunately with working everyday i only have an hour or so a day for quick high spirited riding!! The 120-150-mph rush hasn’t gotten old. So my bikes reflect the type of riding i can do.
Started to watch your videos when you had a bv350 and i a sh300i. After 3 or 4 of years you have already traded bikes a few times but i still keep my 2011 sh300. What i see with many bikers is that for some reason they are never satisfied with their choice or get bored soon. As i am allergic to wast money, before buying a machine i test it and read a lot about it to avoid spending thousanda on trades a few months later. If i get bored, i can always make a few test rides or simply swap machines once e a while with a friend. I also have 2 totally different bikes and this helps to enjoy different rides.
Sounds like you should of kept it. Can't wait to see what the replacement is. Honda build quality and reliability is the best but you did enjoy that Harley. Ooher.
I purchased a 2019 leftover in Feb. I have almost 3000 miles on it. I'm getting about 54 mpg. I think that I may know why your mileage is low. It's the exhaust! Yep. It sounds too good so you rev it up a lot while you are riding. Not good for MPG but good for the soul. I can go about 200 miles and have just about a gallon left. The only thing I don't like about my AT is I wish it was just a little lighter. It could be scary doing slow maneuvers. other than that I can ride it all day.
I love my ATAS and wouldn’t change it for anything else other than another one. Negatives for me was the paint! rust and flacking in places, to the point if you ride in winter its almost impossible to avoid (even with ACF50 sprayed everywhere) buffering from the wind is well known but the aftermarket plate for the top of the fork legs works brilliantly. the standard screen (ATAS)in the rain is in my opinion dangerous as it doesn’t wick away and hard to see through. The buffeting plate means you can use a shorter screen. positives for me is how it makes you feel! the sound, power and comfort is brilliant. I have the DCT…I know lots of people pooh pooh it and economy setting changes gear far too fast however change for one of the sport settings and i believe will mirror your normal gear changes. You also can ride in manual or use the paddle shift in auto. Commuting I mange to average 60mpg and if I go for a jolly, I manage to still average over 50mpg. loved the video and felt your pain about needing to sell.
Goodbye Africa twin! ❤️ I think you might be getting the NC750X DCT. I saw you last video with that bike and you seemed to enjoy it and you loved the DCT. And the Dual Clutch would make sense, especially after the description of how your left shoulder was after an accident.
Sold mine after 7 months, same spoke problem, bought it in 2016 new and sold it for £400 less, didnt like the standard tyres but a great bike, went back to the Versys 1K now have an Aprilia Caponord Rally 1200 its a beast.
Love my FY17 DCT and can't think of any other bike that offers such excellent value. New crf1100 is now way too expensive imho. Minor criticisms are the 21 inch fronts that limit on road handling.... plus a lcd dash that can be hard to read in certain light conditions.
Sold my 2017 Harley low Rider S today, testing the new Africa twin and Rally Pro on Wednesday next week!! Good luck with whatever comes next for you Mr Fish!!!
I love my AT as well, for all those reasons, but it’s too tall and too heavy, and I’m getting old. I’ll trade it as soon as I find the right replacement. And THAT is going to be a tall order! I mean, that will be hard to find... :)
Hi watched you last ride this morning, enjoyed it. I pick up my Africa twin sat 2018 model, traded in my tracer 700 and yes will change the can lol Bryan
I sold my atas 2018 with dct 25000 km and bought 2020 black with dct after 2 weeks give my bike back to Honda dealer. Because of Euro 5 rules . From engine come more heat. Sound is not that good . Yes It's more powerful but very nervous Not very pleasant to ride for long. So I bought back 2019 blue one with dct I can ride all day long and that sound 🥰🥰🥰
Funny how one loves the machine one has but it has to go.......that was me with my Versy....then I got on a Triumph Tiger 800xcx and ended up buying it, nice Video bud looking forward to see what will replace your Africa Twin but I guess I already know..
I got it spot on with the cub so here we go. I think you fell asleep and dreamed of the HD low rider S, and Harley being who they are offered a deal:-) BTW, I posted this a few minutes after your video aired, but somehow my comment went onto another UA-camrs video. He's a AT rider too so I've sent him over here to watch yours lol.
Well. All sorted out and ready - then you drop her like an old sticking skunk. The shame! Gotta say, I'm going to miss that bike too. The new machine is going to have some big shoes to fill.
Sorry to see the AT go, but - moving on and all that. BTW, 10.5 MPL is 47.73 MPG. Knowing what a Honda fanboy you are, I foresee a new AT in your near future.
What’s it like on a dual carriageway ? Or don’t you ride on them? I have a Cb500x which is ok but I’m looking for a bit more power on my dual carriageway commute.
hi,love your channel,im after my 1st big bike,im only 5ft 6,short ass i know, lol,im looking at honda 500f 2020,can you do review i know you done one on 500f but it was cold and wet a few years ago, thanks daz
It looks like the display would be another negative. We know the new bike will be a Honda. You already have two smaller bikes. My money is on the Africa Twin Adventure Sport.
Did they solve the annodizing problems on the frontfork of the new AT? Otherwise you should stay clear of the AT or get the ATAS which does not have the problem.
Mr fish noooooooooo why why why that bike loves you but hay that's the way the cookie crumbles looking forward to new bike but don't do this ever again at least 4 three years. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌🏍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😢😢😢😢😢😢

Thanks you , always respect the horses
Had lots of Hondas never had an issue with any, they know how to build them.
Everytime I check valve clearance on a Honda its like a brand new bike. It's wild.

Rare bike
New bike day is worth the sadness of getting shot of the old one. Can't wait to see what you have gone for.

Same FY17 manual, like it a lot.
You're dead to me now lol
Looking forward to seeing what you have got in it's place.
lol harsh
lol
All the very best on your new bike loving my new XADV
Glad you like it mate , i told you its a good bike lol
Went all round france on the same bike, totally reliable, apart from a bit sluggish
Sold my 2017 Harley low Rider S today, testing the new Africa twin and Rally Pro on Wednesday next week!! Good luck with whatever comes next for you Mr Fish!!!
3 years went quick. Look forward to the new bike reveal. Hope you you are keeping well.
Thanks

Did you buy another bike?
Can’t wait to see you on your new Ducati StreetFighter V-4S !!!
Hi watched you last ride this morning, enjoyed it. I pick up my Africa twin sat 2018 model, traded in my tracer 700 and yes will change the can lol
Bryan
I traded my tracer 700 for this one ... good move
I was going to guess a 2020 Africa Twin. But the 21" tire thing at the end changed my mind so now my guess is a goldwing.
So long, Africa Twin. Can't wait to see your next video :)

I'm shocked but I understand the new Standard AT would be impossible to resist. ;)
Too good a video review.
Makes me want one bad.
You, TMF and Lamb Chop are the royalty of bike reviews.
COS is up there too. Local lad in Straya. 👍
TMF is dull as dishwater in his reviews
@@boxfullofneutral8514 If its not a BMW, he hates it!
David Larter it’s clear if he slated them no one would give him a bike, so every thing is great
@@boxfullofneutral8514 so true👍
both really nice fellas and know their stuff , different approaches so you get a good all round opinion

I absolutely love this bike. It's only the tubed tires scaring me away.

Well. All sorted out and ready - then you drop her like an old sticking skunk. The shame! Gotta say, I'm going to miss that bike too. The new machine is going to have some big shoes to fill.
big shoes =
I was always wary about taking out bikes that are sold.
if i crash i keep it , not so bad
Great vid Fishy!
Cheers chopsy
I'm guessing Triumph 900 or 1100 Africa Twin....hmm whatever, it will be fun. Stay safe..:)
blimey, I must be riding mine like an old lady, I normally get to 200 miles before the light comes on!
Mr fish this is mad you just drove past my old house. Chipstead high road is a lovely area man
Shame you’re not still there you could have put the kettle on 😂
@@Mrfish2015 my grandad still lives their and he also watches your videos so next time you’re blasting through I’ll tell him 😂
Enjoyable review, thanks! Cheers
Ha Ha, I thought you'd talked yourself out of it Fish during that vid! 😉
If the deal wasn't done .... lol
Sorry to see the AT go, but - moving on and all that. BTW, 10.5 MPL is 47.73 MPG.
Knowing what a Honda fanboy you are, I foresee a new AT in your near future.
I was wrong - again. Well at least I was right about your new bike being a Honda. So 1/2 a point for me.
I’ll miss that sound 👌
Me too
@@Mrfish2015 ...but looking forward to further adventures 👍
Had my 16 plate DCT 4 years I was hoping the seat would have soften up a bit sadly not !!,
Why are you selling it ?????? Whats next? StreetFighter V-4S?
Well my Honda VTX1800 had its fuel pump die....... after 18 years. How do they manage to stay in business?
Good but sad video Mr Fish. I think you are buying a 1250 GS ore is it a Harley. Look forward to finding out.
Me tuning in...
Dont think I'll be selling my AT unless I find a screaming deal on a T7 or a 790.
What’s it like on a dual carriageway ? Or don’t you ride on them? I have a Cb500x which is ok but I’m looking for a bit more power on my dual carriageway commute.
Tennere 700 Rally Edition coming!!

its the same bike , its really good
"meh" is all of technical terms anyone needs :D
Facts
So thinking about getting one of these...for comfort? Is this not comfortable? I saw you got a cb1000r? I am 6 feet, 210 lbs, 30 inch inseam
It’s very comfortable, see my vid in the cb1000r (did I make a mistake) to see why I swapped
The only negative I can add is I find the seat a tad hard, compared to other bikes in this category, over long periods of time
Yeah i get that
Had a puncture on my AT - what a pain in the butt with tubed Tyres. I disliked the dive under-braking regardless how hard you press the rear brake
Use the back brake more. It what I do on my AT.
Baja No Pinch tool for the win
Mark Levy Did you get something that dies not dive under braking?
It looks like the display would be another negative.
We know the new bike will be a Honda. You already have two smaller bikes. My money is on the Africa Twin Adventure Sport.
nothing wrong with the display i can read it
Enjoy your channel, what are the gloves your wearing and where did you get them.
Thanks
I liked those as well.
amazon cheapies , black ones were £10 more so went camo
Good vid Mr .....
Triumph's coming...
Fish and TMF are in fact one and the same person
Did they solve the annodizing problems on the frontfork of the new AT? Otherwise you should stay clear of the AT or get the ATAS which does not have the problem.
That engine sounds great
New AT here he comes
You've already hit the pinnacle with the Cub, how could you possibly top that!
True
10 miles per litre is about 45.4mpg. New bike is gonna be a BMW S1000XR.
I hope you get a nice exhaust on your new bike.....
Sorry, but complaining about a 21" inch wheel on an Africa Twin is just absurd. That's how an Africa Twin is built.
Didn't moan about it , just listed as a negative on the road have to find some lol , don't get so upset
Mr. Fish - Unless your new bike is a CRF1000L + 100, I will unsubscribe to your channel.
... okay I won't :)
Hey do you know what your suspension settings were?
I’m guessing either Goldwing. Fireblade or Harley :-).
Bet he has got a new one
I think the new africa twin for you
Hmm I reckon you’ll go another AT.
Mr fish noooooooooo why why why that bike loves you but hay that's the way the cookie crumbles looking forward to new bike but don't do this ever again at least 4 three years. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌🏍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😢😢😢😢😢😢
1290 SAR?
Your miss that Africa Twin big time
Maybe
Intrigued I am 🤔🤔🏍🙌
What model exhaust are you using ?
Thanks for sharing
Lowrider S next ??
If I had the cash I'd buy that bike!
Only 1 choice crf1100 😉
Don’t think the cb1000 will be a good replacement unless you’ve changed your riding habits
Biggest negative about my Africa twin is that I don't have one yet haha
Oi oi savaloy! :D
BMW R1250GS ?
Ha ha, gs, don't think he'd want to downgrade!
Got to be a Harley.
i guess your gonna buy a honda 500 rebel :P
