Have you ever been to a live auction? What was your best pickup from it?
I've done some silent auctions and won a couple of cool things, mostly records and rock/metal tees, but that was before my days as a reseller.
@@lvtrashpanda I have done bid boards and silent auctions. They are fun but not as fun as live auctions.
I was at a local weekly one and purchased tons of stuff from it. Best thing I ever purchased was a gold diamond ring for my (now ex) wife. Wish I got it back. :(
@@agood100 they are awesome! Sorry to hear about the wife situation.
Been to several, love going even if I don’t bid. Did purchase a Lladro figurine for $75 a few years back.
Yes! Please go again... it was great to see what was there. I could kick myself in the butt for tossing or giving away so much vintage when I cleared out my Grandparents house several years ago. Thanks for sharing the experience with us!!
I’ll go back in the next couple of weeks and see what I can find!
Hey Rod! Really enjoyed you taking us along … so much fun 😃. Would have liked to see any old Beer taps. Not a gamer 🤷🏼♀️ Curious to see how much the bikers vest went for.
@@scarter8137 thanks for watching and checking it out.
They are called Daguerreotype's (the small old photo's from 1800's). Most had covers that folded down to protect the glass over the photo. 🙂
Thank you for your info!
The auction was nice. It changes the videos up a little. Thank you for all the tips.
Thank you! I thought it was a nice change of pace.
You can sell the jacks box and the loop inside and make reference to the set is complete, not shown and you can get around it
That’s def a work around it.
What a super change from the usual. Really nice video, thank you. Started following after your visit with Kevin.
Thank you! We plan on going back and doing more in the future.
New sub, really like the auction style video. Very informative. Thanks.
Thank you for watching! Stay tuned, there might be a new one dropping in the next week 😉
That would be dangerous to have a live auction so close to me. I love auctions !
As you can see, this is could potentially be dangerous for my wallet long term, lol
@@pickingandpunching oh yeah it could !
Hi new to your channel found you on kevins..loved the twist at the end ha..i enjoy auctions you found some cool stuff so i would watch again
Thanks for checking it out. Auctions are so much fun. I just have to try not to get caught up in bidding.
I go to this Auction location when I’m visiting family in the Sunshine State. Nice Haul on the video games.
Thanks man! It was a great day.
@@pickingandpunching I scored on some WWE Figs 300 pcs new in the box for $350. That place is a nice little secret.
@@BuffaloPicker-DefendTheHustle that’s right down my alley! Great score.
First time watching. Loved it! I grew up in Wyoming, auctions were the THING back them. Started going to with my dad when I was like 5 and I'm 58. Lol lol The reason for auctions back then was super cheap prices. That has all changed. Now I live in Alaska, all online auctions now. Still love them though. Lol
Growing up my dad used to take me to the auction. He had a hauling business and he was able to move a bunch of items fast. I had a blast going with him.
Lots of neat stuff there. I bought some Jarts at a thrift store about 10 years ago. After finding out they were banned and not legal to sell I cut them up and tossed them in the trash. Although some platforms allow you to resell them. I would not take the chance as you can be hit with a costly lawsuit if somebody gets injured playing with them. I have since taken out extra liability insurance for peace on mind from lawsuits for anything I resell.
Sale reason why I won’t try to sell them as well. It’s just not worth it.
Best video iv see of u i love the auction atmosphere
Thank you! We will do more of them in the future
I love auctions….we don’t have them in our area anymore…thanks for the video
I love them as well. They are dangerous though, lol
Next time check those cast iron skillets some of them specially the griswold line can fetch a good amount seen a couple sell for 1000$+
I have sold a bunch of them in the past. They usually sell high at the auction though. I do pick them up a lot at garage sales.
Great video awesome finds❤
Thank you!
That was fun to see!
Thank you!
I met you at the Estate sale I held (you gave me stickers) Let us know if there is ever a Florida re-seller met up. Would love to go.
There might be one in jan in Orlando area. Just keep checking back with me and I’ll let you know more.
@@pickingandpunching Will do! I am sharing your channel with my friends. Thank you!
@@Thefleamarkettribe thank you!
Hey Rod! Really enjoyed you taking us along … so much fun 😃. Would have liked to see any old Beer taps. Not a gamer 🤷🏼♀️ Curious to see how much the bikers vest went for.
Thank you! I was just showing comps for the items that I was bidding on. I’ll keep that in mind for future videos! Thanks for watching.
@@pickingandpunching - I know you cant show everything was just curious! 😃
@@scarter8137 I can’t show everything but it’s good feedback. I could pick out some of the better items to show what they go for.
Honestly, if for personal collection $300+ is great. I think you dodged a bullet on those figures if you are re-selling. I tend to stay far away from saturated 90’s figures. The Reboot ones were cool and brought me right back to watching the series on ABC. Great content!!
Thank you! I was buying the NES stuff for my personal collection. Thanks for watching!
Love you videos keep up do good job yard sale and have fun do it all time's
Thanks!
Great video!
Thank you!
The cast iron toy banks, both repros.
Yea, they are still cool pieces.
Enjoyed the content !
Thanks man!
Dang, that Batmobile at 14:20 from the animated series
Yea, it was a cool piece.
that was fun!!!
It was a blast!
cool that you found something for your own collection . Never been to a live auction looks fun
It was so much fun and nerve racking at the same time. If you do go, be careful not to get caught up in the moment and spend more than you want.
You should call your show the- -I Overpay For Everything Show!!
We were planning on calling it “I Sometimes Overpay For Everything Show” but the name was to long to fit on the coffee mug merchandise. 🤷♂️
Its insane i go to auctions aswell nowadays and its rough to get deals anywhere nowadays....wether it be yard sales auctions e state sales ect....the competition for retro games specifically has gone through the roof even the grandmauls and grandpauls are starting to buy retro games and 95% are buying to flip....which is what it is
You are right! It’s crazy and so much harder out there. I used to resell nothing but video games. I had to pivot and change my business model up due to the fact it was getting harder and harder to find stuff.
The green Industrial lamps are very popular right now.🙂
I don’t normally sell lamps. That’s good information. Thank you.
If you have any questions, about most any subject (except dolls or video gaming stuff) feel free to text me. My son has many older games from the 80's & 90's he won't let me sell for him (go figure). I have been working live auctions (buying & selling) for over 40 years. I am currently a consultant for a couple of online Auction houses in Southern CA. I have also done 'triagef' works for the Antiques Roadshow (US version). Visuals are hard, and handling the items are always better. Knowing your current trends, both geographically and by timelines are critical to consistent sales of inventory. Do your 'homework', and read, read, read from the experts. Thanks for your videos, very entertaining. 😁 John D. ( Antique Trador)
John, thank you for taking time out of your day to not only to watch but to offer a helping hand. This is what I love most about the reselling community!
20:14 that lady is built like a dachshund 😂
I totally missed that. Bahahaha!
Oh I love Kings of the Beach NES game. Best volleyball game IMO for the NES
You don’t get a lot of volleyball games now of days. This game was good. I also enjoyed outlaw volleyball for the Xbox.
Love Aution
We will be posting up a new auction video soon.
If you live near parks, playgrounds (with sand), or the beach. Then the metal detector is a great item to have.
I’m in Florida. I been wanting to get one for the longest time. Amy recommendations on brands?
Garrett and Minelab along with the ever reliable Fisher F22 are some of the better selling brands. All rate pretty high with users and are easy to use.🙂
@@johndesposito1475 👍
I picked up a huge lot of video game stuff including an NES for 50 bucks. The NES worked, but had the issue where you had to make the game go in tight for it to work. So being me, I decided to take it apart and clean the pins and made it worse lol. Should get the new 72 pin connector today and replace it and get it over with. I am assuming the original 72 pin had issues and me cleaning it just brought out the issues you would see down the line as you play the system more. I am hoping that is the case actually... But yeah I took it apart, cleared out all the dust, took the 72 pin off, cleaned the contacts on the main board, it was VERY dirty. I mean black soot was coming off of it. I then cleaned the pins the best I could, even ended up putting it in boiling water. I have done that plenty of times with great results.
From my experience, most NES issues are fixed with a quick 72 pin swap out. I love the NES system.
Jesus christ, that was INSANE!!
Incredible!
GTREAT ! Love you auctio n , Plearw do MORE
Thanks for the feedback. We actually have a couple others on the channel. Check out our other videos.
How long do you have to store most of that stuff before it sales and how much space do you have to store all that stuff in??
I always try to get fast selling items. It doesn't always happen. When items sit for a while, I will just start to run sales or reduce the price of the items until they sell. These NES games were purchased to add to my personal collection. The rest will go up for sale. I have a small little warehouse that I run my business out of.
Nice 👌
Thanks!
Those cast door stops were also not old or vintage.
👍
We need your WhatNot link or is the same as your Utube channel name?
Same as channel name. Picking and Punching
Great stuff for a weekly auction if the prices are good
Some stuff went high, while others went low. Local auctions just come down to who your competition is for the day.
@@pickingandpunching for sure ya some stuff went pretty crazy high, you for sure got the best deal on the NES lot the rest of the systems were way overpriced
@@joshuahoops9430 I couldn’t believe what those other systems went for and how beat up the games and systems were.
@@pickingandpunching bro auctions get crazy where I am people pay more than you can buy for new where I am
I seen that happen as well. They get caught up in the process.
I enjoyed the auction
Awesome! I plan on doing more In the future.
I did enjoy it, but wanted to be there myself!
I’ll do another one so you can live through me! Thanks for watching.
I would have been so broke after that auction lol
I was almost $400 deep after that day. I could of been a lot worse.
Yes auction was great fun to watch, tho I think it would be more fun if you didn't show us what your buying till the end. I'll be honest once I knew what you were buying, I did fast forwards to see hm you bought them for. Mx
Thanks for watching! That’s good feedback. I’ll have to take that into consideration for next auction.
Id run it up lol ! They do it all the time
They were doing it that day! Maybe It was you!
No your prices set limits auctions can be profitable and fun. Not a place to be the least bit emotional. Lol.
I agree. If you get emotional you can get in trouble. They are easy to get caught up in the moment.
That dragon warrior
Classic
is wizardry worth money on NES?
Proving ground is about $10-$15. Knights of Diamond is about $40-$50 game. Just depends on which one you have
Where was this auction?
This auction was in Florida.
Yoy cant sell jarts period or any recalled product (except cars) seller can be held liable for injurt caused by sale of product
You are correct. I would never sell them for that reason. Just not worth it.
I'd be all over those funko pops!
I was planning on it but they went like $7-$8 a piece and you had to take them all. I did look a bunch of them up. There was a ton of $8-$10 ones in that lot. Just not enough meat on the bone to resale.
@@pickingandpunching definitely understandable. Pops can be very hit and miss. Box condition is crazy important as well.
yea I agree. Pop collectors are very particular about condition of the box.
I have 30 stomper toys r they worth anything all run over 40 yr. Old
The old ones can bring decent money.
What up bro🤙🏼#WeAreLegion
Definitely a cool set up. Those wildcats toys caught my eye. Great pick up by the way I off loaded my whole nes collection 2 years ago
It was def a cool experience. What was in your NES collection that you sold?
Love the videos! Holy smokes your like a bull in a china shop handling some of that stuff though 😮
Sorry wasn’t trying to be rough. The camera’s mic picks amplifies sound and makes it seem worse sometimes. I been working on it in future videos.
Was it worth spending all day at the auction for a small purchase like that?
Great question. With any auction you run a risk of spending a lot of time and walking away with nothing. I was buying these mainly for my personal collection and I had fun. At the end of the day, was it worth the amount of time, no. I spent about 4 hours there. If I would of won all the figures, then it would of. They just went for too much money.
Those were fishing 'reels', not lures like you said. 😛
I realized that when I was editing, lol
thank you for actually showing the auction. I noticed alot of older dudes there. Its been my experience these old codgers have money, lol and will often bid insane prices at auctions. I think some if is they are bored and it's something to do
Thank you! There was a bunch of retired people there because the auction took place in the middle of the week during the day.
Can you just pinch that mouse eating corn and send it to me in the UK 😅😅
It’s in the mail.
@@pickingandpunching 😂😂
Carriage looks like a Phillipines reproduction, they make to look vintage. 🙂
🤘🏻
I'm taking my collection down. And now I'm making a GameCube bundle. NES bundle, Super Nintendo bundle, Playstation 2 slim bundle, original Xbox bundle, they all have tons of games memory cards controllers. I just finished putting a GameCube bundle together. seven games, Games 2 controllers, memory card, its silver going to be a busy summer here later.
Make that money!
Actions are fun to watch once in awhile, but personally i dont like watching a lot of them
I agree. This is the only one we posted in months. We will mix it up from time to time but won’t have a lot of them.
For sure the guy in the wheelchair was part of the auction team trying to get as much $$$
I found out later that he is regular there. Apparently he owns a toy store. He is always aggressive when it comes to buying toys there.
JARTS ARE LEGAL TO SELL....... GET A CLUE.....
The original ones that are made like darts were recalled due to injuries and children dying. They are illegal to sell and you can be liable for selling recalled products. The updated version of them are legal to sell.
👍🏻👊🏻
🤘🏻👊🏻🙌🏻
Is that a 5 screw zelda
I don’t think it was. I’ll have to go back and check.
@@pickingandpunching was hard to tell in the video, but it looked like it was from wat i could see
Fun video but please eliminate the word “cool” from your vocabulary. You must have said it 700 times 🤦🏻♀️. It was really annoying.
I agree. Sometimes you don’t know what you are saying until after you watch the footage.
@@pickingandpunching 😅 so true. Also, sorry if my comment sounded rude. I didn’t intend for it to but when I read it back it did. My apologies. I like your content and I’m glad I found you. 👍🏼
@@chappy675 I’m always looking for constructive criticism. It’s the only way we all get better! Thanks for the support!
I'm a were of the erotic stuff not being "political correct" or maybe bad for your channel, but lots of money to be made from that kinda stuff... People stray from it, but there is large amounts of money to be made fron it... Don't be scared... It's all part of life...
I’m not judging anyone for it. Hell, I’m all for it. There was a bunch I had to cut out of the video because when I lifted up the box, there was nothing but nudity being shown. That I can’t show on UA-cam, lol.
Great video!
Thank you!
