  • Finally got to ride with the group of arctic cats we know. Always nice to be out there with a big group. Nearly had a head on collision with a rider who was on my side of the trail.

    Man I miss back home where a trail permit was unheard of and the trails have jumps everywhere and backcountry was around every corner.. there was no speed limits or signs set up and trails would not be groomed, that kind of ruins the trail in my opinion and the plows and huge snowblower would get stuck trying to clear snow on the roads :( seems like a dream when I think back about it.

    Just wanted to say we knew the cat had some oil we just couldnt tell how much because of the non clear oil tank... We used a dip stick type method to help make sure there was some but it was hard to know how much. Hope everyone enjoys the vlog!

    I've had the ZR6000RR 2015. You cannot physically ride enough miles in one day to run it out of oil as long as it's full when you take off. I'm not bragging it up for that it's just a fact. Sips oil, nice machine & great 600 engine! Not great top end but very fun to ride.

      xXOctavianXx I had a sno stuff can on my 08 tnt and loved it but the cops wrecked it for me. I'm still thinking about it but I may or may not buy a race sled next year and buy a sick exhuast for that. Make it a once and a while type sled to keep the fans happy and just rip on.

    That exact thing happened to my dad last year. A guy had one kid in front and one kid behind him on the sled. Luckily my dad swerved far enough over so he didn't get the idiot.

      @Revrider550  6 років тому

      Sean Higgins it's insanely unsafe. Thank God I had studs and was able to slow down enough to avoid him. If you notice at first their skis are turning towards me before they ever even tried to turn away.

    • @SeanHiggins731
      @SeanHiggins731 6 років тому

      Revrider550 - Yeah it's unbelievable how stupid and inconsiderate people are on the trails. I think we all should be required, like ATV's, to take a safety course so hopefully *everyone* would know how to ride right on the trail. But I see that a drivers test doesn't prove someone to be a good driver either haha.

    Dude that almost hit you was doing the same thing your dad was after he passed you at the beginning....taking the inside line on a left turn.

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  6 років тому +1

      Frosty I fully agree my dad was being a fool in the begining. It is a huge straight away so you can see down the trail a bit but I still completely disagree with my dad doing that. He's letting being on a new sled get the best of him and ignoring common sense.

      Sean Higgins don’t know if they are kids for sure plenty of old dudes like cans and going fast. If they are young guys not impossible to swing a newer sled. Just sign on the dotted line.

      Nick Boisclair they were kids but there a lot of money in old forge and a lot of parents willing to buy sleds like that for their kids. They may have bought them on their own but who knows. Still sounded sweet tho lol not my taste but got my attention

    I need to get up to tug hill riding. You could always top the oil off every time you ride that's what I do

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  6 років тому

      big murph been getting tons of snow up there i hear conditons are awesome. We will for sure going forward. This was only our second ride with it so we had planned to buy oil during the ride but the dealer was unfortunately closed.

    • @bigmurph1447
      @bigmurph1447 6 років тому

      Revrider550 you should buy 2 stroke oil buy the case that's what I do that way I always have it on hand. What type of oil do you run I use amsoil in my etec

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  6 років тому

      big murph that's the issue we normally run Amsoil but alot of the forums say cat has a very specific oil you're supposed to run in them. Some sort of ctec 2 synthetic. So we had planned to pick some up at the dealer during our ride but it was closed.

    • @bigmurph1447
      @bigmurph1447 6 років тому

      Revrider550 I look it up on amsoil web site since I am a dealer. Says u can use the interceptor oil.

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  6 років тому

      big murph oh awesome. I might end up doing that it's way easier for me to get a hold of Amsoil than it is the cat oil

    I am still pissed off about that a-hole that came head-on at you. Three up on a 1 man seld to boot. That's what's makes it so dangerous to ride aggressively at all. Idoits everywhere. If you were going 5 or 10 MPH faster you wouldn't have been able to avoid him and you wouldn't have been doing anything wrong. Ride safe. It was absolutely freezing the days I was up there 26th-28th. -21 on Thursday morning. Tons of snow though, but not enough grooming.

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  6 років тому

      paisteboy I appreciate it it was definitely ridiculous. No one should put their kids in danger like that. Thankfully I had studs so I was able to slow down enough. If you notice in the beginning his skis are pointed in my direction so they were trying to come even farther to the wrong side of the trail. Hopefully you got some good footage still. A BAD day on the trails still beats a day on the couch imo

    • @Paisteboy
      @Paisteboy 6 років тому

      I wonder if the little kid in front was steering? I've really started to be a defensive rider because of people like that. Takes the fun out of riding when you're in fear even though you know you're riding safely.
      I didn't get as much footage as I would have liked on this past trip. I recorded some on day 1 & 2 with the GoPro and just handheld on Day 3, but the handheld had riding footage as well. There was just too much snow dust from the 2-1/2 feet of powder that they got. Unless you were leading you could hardly see. I didn't even end up getting any front or rear bumper view footage this time. The extreme cold really put a damper on us this trip. The season is young though!

    • @Paisteboy
      @Paisteboy 6 років тому

      I'm editing a video right now from the last ride and noticed passing a ski-doo riding 3 up and had to go back and look to see if it was the same clown that almost hit you. Different sled and they were on the correct side of the trail.

    • @Revrider550
      @Revrider550  6 років тому +1

      paisteboy haha at least they knew the basics of snowmobiling. Still crazy people put that many people on a sled. Hopefully this person learned their lesson. I try not to get heated while on trail but this time I couldn't help myself.

      i was up in maine back in 1997 below zero temps so we ended up in a bar restaurant and a girl came in speechless trying to get the words out of what she saw her husband stayed behind untill help came 2 sledders went headon at 60 plus mph on the jackman trail they called the sherif he was allready gone to the scene next day found out no servivers what a shame and it was at a corner too
