I think it is something most true boaters would do, most of us are one big community. It is like living in a small village of old, when everybody helped everyone
Always something different in my life. The one thing I love about most boaters, is that they will always help when they can, and in this instant it was my turn. It is all good karma.
Another nice video Trev, was that winding hole made for just that or was it another former canal or something just curious about its history..regards Doc from Down under
It is a purpose made winding hole and in the canals life quite a new one. I know it was not there in 1985 when I cruised that stretch, so it must have been added between then and now, but I do not know when.
Narrowboats are notoriously bad at going backwards, not impossible to do but not easy. If you have bow thrusters it would help, but without the boat will prop steer. What took us 15 to 20 minutes would have taken 3 to 4 hours probably
Thanks Trev; interesting as always.
Something a little different, but I wanted also to show how we help each other out, on the cut.
the Good Samaritan springs to mind Trev. well done.

Why did the boat not reverse back? Is that too far to travel in reverse?
