I bought a bike on discount, its a peculiar color brown that no one wanted, so I have christened it "The Flying Shite" in hommage to BB's ride. Mr Bates you truly were one of a kind, I hope the Internet will preserve the stories of your antics for centuries to come.
I saw BB at Derby in the early 70's and he was brill he wouldn't perform though in front of women because he didn't believe one should swear in front of ladies ! He gave all of them their money back.

Went to Altringham with him and his twin daughters and my young lady at the time Ice Skating -- foggy night -- job to see your hand in front of your face -- so far there he piped up hope we don't get hit up the A*** there's a load of dynamite in the B****y boot.

Got married in 1976 and my Husband thought this guy was brilliant, we had his LPs. I agree with him, cannot stop laughing at him, he is just great!

i never met him but my dad did cos they both shot clay pigeons and did game shooting , very funny man.
