I don't think you need to necessarily cut a cord to your old self but rather I'd do a ceremony of burying items of the old me. Lighting a white candle and infuse my home and aura with positivity. Palo santo or Yerba Santa is great to burn for this. I honestly am not sure if you can cut a cord in your ancestral line. Those are your chosen people for good or bad. when I did it, the cord keeps lowering with the candles lowering, it just joins the candle untill it went down. It won't burn and the paper didn't burn as well. I think it just won't go away. But anyway he is not toxic. It's just me that is in love with somebody I don't know. I will repeat it again.

Once the spell is done, what remains no longer is where the power is. It's in the sending and intention. As for graveyard dirt, I specifically use it on abusers, narcissists and people I want cut off completely from my energy or the clients. There are definitely benefits to doing this on a full Moon as it would add energy to your spell for sure. Especially since full moons are for manifesting. The last quarter moon of the month can also be great since it's all about letting things go, endings. A moon phase app can really help you keep track. You do not need any specific date or time to do ANYTHING tho as you are the power and you're in control of it. Outside things can help, but you're the power and you say when and what you do. I usually let all candles burn unless it gets too hot lol. When you're cutting cords with someone, you should block all forms of contact from them to fully solidify the cut. If you can't because it's your child's father, etc then keep doing the cord cutting until it feels lighter and bothers you less. You'll also want to heal if it was a toxic relationship to fully keep that cord cut. A cord cutting essentially lessens the attachment to that person's energy. Hope this helps!

I don't think so. I think it's all about you. I usually only do this if it was a particularly negative person.I feel like there are three things I do. I reclaim any and all of my own true authentic energy, I then release back to the other person any toxic negative painful or basically any and all remnants of them, and then I let the universe and spirit know that I am ready for restitution either from the other person or from what they did. It's okay to ask the universe for restitution:) my first cord cutting I didn't let the candles burn all the way down. I just stopped after the cord was severed and I meditated for about 10 minutes and kind of said goodbye. When they burned through the twine, his made a great big mess on the plate but mine left hardly nothing and was about twice as tall as his. I mean they had been neck and neck with nothing unique about the flames until the cord was burned. His literally turned to a puddle of wax and basically collapsed the moment the cord was burned. I wish I could post a picture. I felt like since the flames were very very steady and the candles stayed aligned throughout until the cord was burnt away that it was okay to thank the universe and send love and light to the other person. And I know there is opposition to blowing out candles but with tapers I really didn't know what to do in a pinch. So I gently blew them out and apologized to Spirit LOL and then I put them in a little bag and I am going to go to a place I will never ever visit again in the forest and bury them there.
