    Making a Leather Card Wallet
    Leather card wallets are a very popular project to make by hand, and a very popular product if you're selling your leather work! We made this leather card wallet from natural vegetable tanned leather with polyester threads. We made the pattern in Adobe Illustrator, then printed it out on heavy card stock. Once the pattern was cut out we transferred it by hand to leather, where we cut out and assembled our leather card wallet. Unlike a normal wallet, this card wallet doesn't have a dedicated slot for bills - instead, bills can be folded in half and placed in one of the large back pockets if you want to carry cash in this leather card wallet. Otherwise it holds a whole bunch of credit cards! Since most folks use credit and debit cards these days, leather card wallets are a great addition to any leather product line :)

    Long time viewer here. Im a sheriff's deputy full time but leatherwork is my hobby and destress from work. I truly enjoy your videos when they come out. Today I'm sitting here at the hospital trying to keep my mind calm and just like that a new video from you pops up. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming.

    I absolutely LOVE your tutorials! Thank you so much for sharing them! I'm new at Leathercrafting and finally have accumulated enough tools to get going!!
    I'd love to know where I can get custom-made metal stamps of words and logos that fit my press? I just received my press today that is made for stamping/debossing leather, but need several different stamps to press/deboss into the leather. The individual custom-made stamps are very pricey for me! Can I make them with another type of material other than metal?
    Prior to this, I even bought a (Brand Named) machine that is actually made for doing other crafts, just because I could buy a debossing tool attatchmentment that could be used on leather. I will now use it for making great stickers, although not on my leather projects🤷‍♀️.
    I need a computer that must use a certain kind pdf(?) file in order to work...
    I'm really stuck right now.
    I am donating leather cuffs and key chain lobs for some friends who want their logos stamped in them. What should I do? I have so much invested into this and the main thing I need for the press is hard to find at a reasonable price. 😥
    P.S. I have saved so many of your tutorials!! I can't wait to get started on many of your other leather crafts for gifts.
    They are beautifully hand-made!

    • @Corter
      @Corter  5 років тому

      it's like $5 for the little containers we use and maybe $20 a quart here - I'm sure there's a more local brand of contact cement in Canada that will be cheaper, no reason to pay $88! I just get Weldwood at the hardware store on my way to work, head over to your local hardware store and see what they've got. Just don't use the Elmer's school-type contact cement as it's more of a hot-glue type product.

      I sand them to around 400 grit, then use a little gum trag with canvas - light pressure, it's more the rubbing that does it not pressing down hard! you'll start to feel it go from sticky to slick if you do it right, once you get the hang of it you've got a super easy burnish method!
