    You don’t pull pressure off the strings…lots of people are saying that but that’s wrong you back the axle screw out a little. That’s how I take pressure off the system.

    This year was definitely a stand still on innovation (bound to happen) that being said Mathew’s did some what outside the box with 4 limbs not that they needed it they already beat most competition in the dead in hand category
    Pse didn’t really do anything same with Hoyt
    Elite new cam is money
    Bow tech takes the cake with time lock and the shim system they have
    It would be nice to see if other bow companies would get into the accessories battle like Mathew’s pse is a great platform but a inline quiver system would put them in another category

      @@brosbeforebowshunting it’s a fair point, I think the technology has peaked. They can’t get any faster without some major innovations and still be smooth. I think little tweaks is all we will see until someone comes up with a game changer

      Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! Mathews has made some great innovations in the past, we wanted to address the new ones for 2023. In our opinion the bows cam, tuning, mod system and performance haven’t changed in the past 3-4 years. We had high hopes and always look forward to what Mathews has to offer. Don’t take it personal, we were under whelmed. We both have been given the green light to pick a 2023 bow, stay tuned to see what we end up with!

      @brosbeforebowshunting I'm truthfully not a fan of a binary cam system with cam lean by design and cable pressures tied directly to the cams without free floating yokes that is spread out farther away from the cams on the Advanced Vectoring System to balance the load in my testing on a drawboard with a arrow used as a straight edge against the shelf of the cams at brace is dead behind the string at the Dloop to mimic the powerstroke of the shot the same as I would yoke tune a Solocam and at full draw the cams are straight running 1/8 Parallel along side the string and I shoot perfect bullets though paper with the Vertix it's tough to beat the switch weight crosscentric cams for tuning but cam lean from different manufacturers I exclusively look at closely that's all part of horizontal nock travel and seen worse on other top manufacturers that never gets mentioned.

    Go shoot a Revex and you’ll have a different opinion. I owned an inline 5 and shot a Revex 4 and bought it immediately. The draw cycle is 100% smoother and better then the inline and it’s much quieter and less vibration!

      Thanks for watching! After putting out this video we have had a lot of feedback on the Revex, don’t misunderstand what we said, as soon as I can, I will definitely get my hands on that bow. Prime has always been one of my favorites. Unfortunately where we live makes it a little more challenging and or expensive for us to truly put a Prime to the test. When we do we will definitely let you know what we think! Stay tuned!

    I have a V3 X and have shot the Phase 4 many times at the shop…..you should really shoot the bows before you opine on them. The Phase 4 is a better shooting bow, though not enough to motivate me to upgrade; definitely not a gimmick. Oh, and you can still use whatever stabilizer you want…..now you have another option.

    nice vid, yeh bows have certainly plateaued over the last few years i think what most of the companies have done is just given more options and finally some longer ata bows, in saying that ive ordered the bowtech sx80 to replace my revolt x, the specs on the sx80 are exactly what i was after, 34" ATA or more, 31.5" draw and a 80lb option

      Couldn’t agree more. My first bow was a lift over Bowtech Realm X I found on a shelf last year. Got caught up in the Mathews hype and bought a V3X because everyone in my club was shooting Mathews. It’s a nice bow, smooth and dead for sure, but can’t be consistent with it at all. The grip kills it for me. Will try a Shrewd grip before I give up on it. Going back to Bowtech. Glad to see some unbiased review finally. Shot the Phase 4 also decked out. Felt absolutely no difference compared to my V3X.

    Everything Mathews came out with since the McPherson Reezen and Monster bows is all gimmick. The floating yoke system sucks and now requires you to shim the cams, whereas previously, all you had to do was twist one side of the yoke to get perfect centershot. And now you have to buy their tophat kits to do so at extra cost ON TOP OF the expensive cost of these bows already!! Their tophat kits sholuld come FREE with every bow! Their "innovations" have done nothing but make setting up and tuning their bows more costlier, difficult and time-consuming. And with the floating yokes, now you (I) have to make 5 strings AND take the cams off in order to change them! As for their Phase 4 "innovation," I can just see that rubber gasket between the limbs deteriorating. I shoot a Diamond Infinite Edge Pro and I find it's just as quiet without the limb gasket technology at 1/5 the cost.

    • @brosbeforebowshunting
      @brosbeforebowshunting  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting! You have some great points, additional costs for top hat system does seem excessive. Time will tell how the built in limb dampener system will hold up in harsh hunting environments. I have a feeling that will be an issue. Good luck in the woods!!

      Hey Marty first thing thanks for watching, when we put this video together we were more focused on the hunting bows. Not that you couldn’t use the reckoning as a hunting bow, you definitely could. We did discuss the let off adjustment being independent of the draw length as a definite “innovation”. We just wish Bowtech would have done that with some of the hunting platforms. Great comment! Stay tuned!

      Hey thanks for watching! Darton is definitely one of the companies that is on our radar. They have recently picked up some heavy hitters in the target scene. We haven’t had a chance to shoot one but if we did the Veracity 35 is probably the first one we would shoot. The biggest obstacle is availability. We aren’t very close to any big archery shops and none that we know of carry Darton. Hopefully they become more readily available, and we get a chance to check them out! Stay tuned!

      Great target bows there prelude 32 has a massive hump and dump. I’m not a huge fan. If u hunt hindge or thumb button it’s tricky Bec when it dumps it’s pretty intense and can cause a unintentional shot fire.

      @@brosbeforebowshunting I agree it’s a awesome bow and a lot of people new or not seasoned in archery knowledge don’t know that 90% of bows of all makers probably have a part that’s invented/ manufactured/ patented by darton on there bow. I personally really like the rx7 ultra and elite carbon era. I am not a biased archer at all I have had mathews, bowtech, Hoyt, Martin, Athens , elite, bear, older bow by archery research, golden eagle, high country, browning and I’m sure a few others. It’s all abt what feels comfortable. If you are a late season archer like me from north east Ohio, I want something super smooth and comfortable. When it’s 15 out I’m not a fan of fighting a cam while
      Sitting in the stand freezing. Thanks for the review guys and comments. God bless

Sold the halon x and still rocking the bowtech air raid. I’ve had a few realm x and realms and I couldn’t fall in love. If I can get my hands on a mint of left over impulse 34 for a solid price I will jump on it

    I will say this about Prime. They got caught up in a lawsuit with Hoyt over the "Inline" name and lost. Sooo they had to completely stop production and retool. The new Revex is a shooter so dont poopoo on Prime. The mod system is more efficient than a rotating mod. Hoyt shit in their nest for me over a frivolous lawsuit over a name and not a tech feature. I would understand if it had been a similar system but it wasnt even remotely the same. Another instance of deep pockets shitting on the smaller guy. Other than that I completely agree with your assessment of the other bow companies offerings. Pretty much meh for me too.

    • @brosbeforebowshunting
      @brosbeforebowshunting  Рік тому

      Hey Patrick thanks for watching and commenting! We had heard some whispers over the “inline” lawsuit. Don’t get us wrong, Prime has been and always will be one of our favorite companies. We agree that having a draw specific mod will definitely produce a smoother draw and more efficient cam system however we didn’t consider that to be “innovative”. I would have forked the cash for a shiny new revex 4 if it was available in a shop remotely close to us with the correct draw mods. But it unfortunately was not available. I will definitely own that bow eventually…
