When you drag and drop your downloaded LUTs into the package contents of Premiere Pro, be sure to do the same with Media Encoder - because if you don't, using Media Encoder to render your project will result in a video without the downloaded LUTs applied. I learned this the hard way.
This tutorial is clear and simple. A lot of other tutorials didn't explain the principle like yours at the beginning. You really did a good example here.
i love the fact that you said it't s ideal when you have "humans" in your shot, instead of saying people. like you were referring to them as creatures. idk why i like this so much
Great video Parker, this video explained so much! I love the quality of teaching aspect you apply when making these videos. They stand out above the rest! You summed up a lot of questions I have had in 2 min after hours of research! Have a blessed day bro!
Loved the clarity of the instructions and your comfortability with the camera!! Love the video and this helps me a lot with my own filmmaking endeavors :)
Your stuff is amazing, watched your free live seminar at 3am a few days age (from Europe) and you've honestly inspired me to take up filming! Saving up for your course by doing video work :) Every day I watch your demo reel at least twice! Inspiring work!!
Wow! I just found you tonight and your videos are super detailed and you explain everything very easily which helps to learn adequately. Good job and thanks!
Thank you so much for all of your tips and tricks! I'm not at the point of purchasing LUTs yet, but I hope some day to make videos as professionally as yourself.
If you are thinking about joining the Fulltime Filmmaker course, do it! It's a no brainer! :) thank you for creating this for us Parker, i have really learned a lot from you!!
Agree, almost mentioned the same in a sub comment to my own. His price is extremely fair for how many he gives you too. And his instagram has loads of examples how to mimic movie looks with them and what LUTs he used to pull off each look.
Good video. Some people suggest pushing highlights to teal instead of orange... but all give good rasons for pushing mids to orange and shadows to teal. Also since I started to use a dedicated incident light meter instead of the in-camera histogram my footage on all cameras has dramatically improved and is consistent. I've given up on histograms though they sometimes help. now 95% or more of my footage is consistant exposure from day to day and time of day mixed all on the same timeline is very uniform so I can often get away with a single grade and correction applied to hour prouduction and only have to pick up and change a few cuts.
Benjamin Bidlack buying something you already have ... guys you don't need to buy any luts. If you are using premiere pro cc. It's all inside looks. Then apply any of them to your video
I love this video... and your voice is phenomenal... ... but, I have a quirk... not only am I in Filmmaking, Acting etc... I am a watercolorist... and the "Color" you keep calling TEAL... is actually Turquoise ... There is a Blue Teal, and a Green Teal... but that Beautiful Color you are showing at 1:46 & 2:09 in your fonts are a true Turquoise (New Mexico) lives off that color... and Green Chile... ;) "Thank you for this great tutorial... I never thought of this, and it is soo smart of you to realize this... ;)
Hi Parker, I buy the pack (Teal-And-Orange-VOL.1-All-In-One-Bundle-RMN-Luts-And-Presets) but it don't function like in your video. I don't undersand well english, can you help me please. I shot with my canon c200 on clog 3. Must I apply Level firs before apply Luts. Please help me.
wow sir tis is ur first video tat im watching and i thought 'wy dint i see tis earlier', clear and pristine explanation, and u put a lotta work in making d video and editting it .insta-subbed!! Parker walbeck? Parker welldone lol
Hi Parker! I have bought this luts pack which is mentioned in this video but when I apply any lut including your favourite ones then the outcome is not even close to your or any other cinematic video whereas when I do my own custom grading then the videos look good although not cinematic but yet the video looks much better. I shoot on iphone 7 plus with filmic pro in log and flat by using Dji Osmo mobile + also with Nikon D5200. I am shooting by following the tutorials available on UA-cam with the settings recommended by other experts. I don't understand that where am I wrong. Recently, I have been attracted towards videography. But now I think that I should leave this hobby :(
Ali Khan buying something you already have ... guys you don't need to buy any luts. If you are using premiere pro cc. It's all inside looks. Then apply any of them to your video
Hey Parker, thanks so much for this awesome video! Can you please share what are the equipments and settings used to record this video? I'm interested on the type of camera and settings to achieve a similar video look like yours.
Hey Parker--love your videos. Could you share how YOU speed ramp? I've heard of several ways to do it but how do you do it to achieve the smoothest look?
Advise needed: Hello Parker Walbeck and UA-cam watchers! Im going to buy new desktop PC (W10) - please tell me what is the best firmware I should buy for video and photo processing (Pr and Ps CC) My current PC is a bit slow for video :/ Thank you. PS: - Great video tutorial! Thank you for sharing :)
it's funny but I used Lightroom to grade video footage into orange & teal by using the camera calibration tab on an extracted video frame image and pasting the settings onto video file
I've seen you mention that you reduce contrast and sharpness in your custom picture profiles, do you do that with your flat profiles too? And why is that exactly?
Pretty crazy using a LUT profile so well that you basically own the thing. Upload anything in Orange and Teal and people will start chanting Sam Kolder in the comments :)
Jon Olsson uses it, and i havent seen anyone flaming at the comments. Dont bother for people, they are borred to pick up the camera themselves that why they do it.
LUT are not absolutely enough and too many filmmakers copy Sam Kolder but the result is NOT good. I am a color Pro (Da Vinci user), I am quite impressived by the grading achieved by guys like Yuri Palma or Brandon Li WITHOUT using Da Vinci. LUT is only the first brick...
Hi, color pro here, dealing with Adv. Just for your info, don't miss Alex Melis, Yuri Palma and Neumann films, they are the best in grading on youtube.

Finally someone explaining LUTs in a understandable way!!! Thank you very much Sir!

Parker, the knowledge you have.. it's incredible. You are a natural born teacher. I learn so much from you =)

Awesome video! I like how quick and easy you get through the info without leaving too much out! Cheers!
A very well done video, Parker. Superb presentation. I like how you synchronized the graphics with what you said. Great speaker, too.
this is really really well explained. I can't imagine how much effort you must have put into this. cheers

Nice video Parker! I use LUTs every now and then but the ones I have found to like the most are the Osiris LUTs from Color Grading Central.
