Bought myself a new Browning Hell's canyon LR in 300win mag.
    With new Leupold VX6HD 3-18x50
I did exactly same and results are flawless! Thanks for the tip!

@@shervinghannadian9651 my CDS says 900 yards zero at 100 yards. You definitely can get more with a 20 degree cant . Mind you I’m shooting a .270 Win for hunting. I can actually shoot 700 at best, that’s just my personal ability is all.
I don’t know how experienced you are… it’s hard for me to see the difference in the VX-5 and VX-6 so I didn’t see a reason to pay the extra amount.

You should hear all the flak I get for fire finishing (Tubbs final finish Bullets) my rougher barrels (all production barrels have different degree of machining marks) after a break-in session.
Yes it’s a lot of work and rounds sent down range, but every time I’ve done it my rifles hit where I want them to and they clean up without any copper fouling a lot easier.

I've got two howa rifles a 7mm rem mag and a 308. And the only way I was able to get accurate load was to run ladder tests for charge and then jump tests for seating. I had no luck with any factory ammo be it Nosler or Hornady. And I forked over the cash for the match grade ammo. So don't think you are going to buy a howa and get 1/2 moa. You are going to work for it and tune up a load. Burn your money at the range to work up a load.

Good video....didn't see you clean it before you shot it,guess you just left it out...since there are many ways to manufacture a barrel and rifle it,hence the argument on how to break in a barrel...just do what the manufacturer says...they know their product.

Logan Traxler if you choose an optic with a bullet drop compensation retical. Or one with mil-dots. Or a simple cross hair and nothing more. You must first learn to read your optic's retical. Then zero at 100y. Then go shoot A LOT At ever distance from 100y out to 500y. Then you will know your abilities with your rifle. Along with your rifles abilities with you.
      And Have fun.

Depending on what train of thought most modern amo says 200. The two ways of thinking is 100 then drop compensate. The 2nd is 200. Imagine you are shooting down a pipe. The idea is to utilize your full arc for tighter groups out to 400. This train of thought says you aren't shooting beyond that. For most people and level of skill this is preferred method. If you are a long range shooter the first is preferred.

The break-in procedure for bolt-action rifles is too time consuming, delicate and bothersome. This is why I prefer the AK-47. It's break-in procedure is much simpler:
    1) Fire several hundred rounds of ammo from it until if becomes burning hot.
    2) Piss on the rifle and into the action and barrel to cool it down.
    3) Dry off the piss by dragging it in a pile of sand or burying it in a mound of dirt.
    4) Hit the rifle with a hammer or drop it on the ground several times to dislodge and remove the dirt or sand.
Your AK-47 is now broken in.
