- Castillo wants Crockett to speak to a psychologist, DiTello, but he refuses, opting instead to go to the hospital and check on the boy, Jeffrey McAllister, who is alive but not yet stabilized. Crockett insists that everything possible be done for him, and for the doctors to let him know about money if needed. Outside ICU they see Monroe, who blames his outburst on Annette "turning tricks" and that he's been seeing a social worker. Crockett warns him about touching Annette again.
From Season 4 Episode5 "Child’s Play": Crockett agonises after a weapons-smuggling probe ends in a boy's death, taking the chance to try and reconnect with his estranged son.

Kids, if you weren't there in the mid-'80s, let me just tell you Don Johnson as Sonny Crockett was the man.
😂 DaHh MAn ...😅👍👍👍
got a soft spot for him.
Exactly Philip Michael Thomas's officer Tubbs was even more the man though.
The very best crime drama series on TV. Ever. The acting..... photography..... Miami ambiance...... Michael Mann's directing. Sad day when it all ended.
>Miami ambiance
Is that a room spray or an Existentialist category?
Didn't recognize the face at first, but when I heard the voice I expected "No man, I'm pretty effing far from okay"
Ving, go back and see all the people that had early appearances on the show. You'd be surprised.
@@danielbarnes3271 Same thing with M*A*S*H, lots of first appearances by actors there who made it big later.
@@danielbarnes3271 Miles Davis, Willie Nelson, Little Richard...
Probably the best cop tv show of all time. each episode was so nuanced and felt like a mini movie. acting was perfect and not over the top
Michael Mann was making weekly mini movies with Miami Vice
Totally agree
Also proves that racism is a myth
true. my personal favorite was ''out where the buses don't run''. the Dire Straits song at the end of that one was amazing.
Number one would be Hill Street Blues for me, but this sure is a close second.
Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs are like angels at the black metal gates of death to prevent those who are thinking of committing suicide from going through. Stay strong.
Ving Rhames with hair 😂😂😂😂😂 love it.
"No man, I'm pretty F'n far from OK."
Ving Rhames...look like a backup singer for Billie Ocean or Orange Juice Jones 🤣🤣🤣
And here I thought that was Kid, with a mustache.
😉
He had hair in blood in blood out too and it is weird
Came to the comments to see if anyone else recognized him. That voice gave him away. Fun to see him with hair. lol
Don Johnson had some god damned good hair, man.
Nothing, I repeat, nothing beats Miami Vice...I watched this show from the first episode to the last. I graduated high school in 1982, back then there were some cheesy wannabe shows but, when Miami Vice came on that was it!! I wish it was still on today!!!
D*** I forgot just how good this show could be! Thanks for reminding me! And for those of you who never saw it the first time, this show was groundbreaking for its time.😊
Marcellus Wallace getting checked by Crocket and Tubbs
This show REALLY needs to come back on air!!!!
Ving Rhames is recognizable with or without hair. His face is his face. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
the hair the beard the jackets. Pure 80s love it
A young Ving Rhames! His beautiful voice gave it away.
I was a teenager in the 80s when Miami Vice came out, but now that I’m looking at reruns as a grown man, I did not realize how many up-and-coming actors were on that show.
I'm currently rewatching it myself, midway thru season 3, and have been thinking the same thing.....actors and musicians!!
Wow I could feel the tension, great acting even in the 80s❤❤❤❤
DJ is a master of his craft !!!! Anybody who says different needs to think again !!!!
Brilliant series- the 80’s rocked
Miss this show
Growing up we would watch on Friday nights, and at school Monday mornings, we would discuss those awesome cars we saw. We all said we were gona drive those one day haha.
OK is anybody going to mention Ving Rhames? This guys been acting for a long time and he was fucking great and everything he does by far one of my favorite actors
Followed by Nash Bridges series in similar vein & the recent movie with Cheech Marin.
I miss the 80's.
I Loved This Show Back In The Day!!!! ❤ ❤ Watched all the time; Told everybody not 2call me while My Show was on, MIAMI VICE 🙂🙂
LUTHER!!! So that's why he was REALLY Disavowed at first.
Black dude was Marcellus from Pulp Fiction!!
Marcellus Wallace!
The 80’s were the best decade of tv. The 2010s are a close 2nd 🥈
Marcellus Wallace started from meager beginnings.....Misses Mia Wallace had to turn tricks to make ends meet.
Don Johnson… amazing.
Ving Rhanes n Don Johnson.... awesome
The president 😎
Great series
Don Johnson was the king of cool back then
Used to love the show. Had my white linen blazer in high school. I so regret that now 😂
PMT and DJ THE BEST EVER
Don Johnson looks like bret hart from wrestling
Bring it back please
what hair product did sonny crockett use?
Crockett is being talked by Marcellus Wallace, wonder if his associates Mr Winfield & Mr Vega will pay Crockett & Tubbs a visit?
Is that Ving Rames?
When the 4th season of Vice was looking bleak with two awful episodes starting it off, this was the 3rd episode. It was a really good one, with action and a good story. Then, it was pretty much downhill from there with a couple good ones in the 5th season. The first and 3rd season of Vice was the best, and this is coming from a dude that taped every episode on his vcr every Friday night, pausing out the commercials.
Ya threatening a Dr who is trying to treat a patient. Good move thugs.
Pedazo de escena...
What was this episode about?
Crockett and Tubbs are doing a stakeout related to a weapons trafficking situation which gets interrupted by a domestic dispute next door. When they try to defuse it, Crockett sees someone with a gun and instinctively opens fire. When he approaches, he is left horrified that he shot a kid with a gun. And while he faces his repercussions because of it, it causes him to question his status as a father which prompts him to reunite with Caroline and Billy.
Marsellus looks different.
Tubbs was my fav
Is that Wallace???
I just said that bro! That is indeed Marsellus Wallace from Pulp Fiction 🙂
Dang this is good scene right here, and don't get this kind of quality anymore. Let alone non PC for one of the good guys allowed to threaten a domestic abuser whose not a white guy.
Don Johnson is a great actor
Lmao..... who wrote this script lol
Sis zase dál, viď?! :D
ZO GOOD
Wow, young Ving Raimes(sp)
Pretty hokie!
Or you'll be hearing from me ! Now ,you got that Buster!
Ving Rhames
Wow! Ving Rhames. The only reason I recognized him was his voice and way of speaking. Unmistakeable.
He looks thinner.
Marsellus Wallace getting a "talking to" from Sonny Crockett...Epic
Now I'm hungry for a Kahuna burger!
@@starguy2718 MMMM-Hmmm this IS a tasty burger!
And this is why Marsellus switched his focus from Sonny to Butch. He realized Miami PD had too much on him. Made a switch to California and took up a new racket. Course he didn’t count on Butch being as slick as Sonny or as tough!
Even back then, Ving Rahmes was a tremendous actor. He brilliantly conveys humanism and remorse. No over the top acting, just straight forward realism.
I was expecting him to say “Arby’s, we have the meat!”
Don’t hurt him Crocket we need him in future for impossible missions.
❤❤😂😂😂
🎯🎯🎯🎯
Crockett and Tubbs they were just awesome they had each other's backs one of the best shows on TV ever
Joe Horton, where you from man?
All over,, Nocona,, Bowie

Proves that racism doesn’t exist
I had forgotten how good Don Johnson was perfect amount of intensity
Never tell me these cats couldn't act! Both these fellows simply rocked. EJO had the "1000 mile stare," and was bone chilling intimidating, but PMT and DJ more than held their own.
Yeah, Olmos actually won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in Season 1. Don Johnson was nominated Lead Actor in Season 1 and he should have won, too.
I grew up with Crockett and Tubbs and I loved it. Loved it
Don Johnson's acting in this whole episode was exceptional. I especially liked the scene where he was telling the doctor he'd be keeping a close eye on the kid's treatment. Sonny taking care of business ♥️
Dr's get the Messiah Complex, all high and mighty, so Crockett had to explain the situation to him. Great scene.
@@tranzco1173 Until Sonny set him straight, that doctor only saw the boy as a poor, black kid from a bad neighborhood in Miami. The other great scene from the episode is when Sonny got back from visiting his son in Ocala and gets in a shouting match about the shooting with Castillo
Ving Rhames played two characters on Vice. A few played 3
People always want the best for their loved ones. Which is understandable. But medical care costs money. But people expect medical care to be free. A patient with no money and no insurance, they cannot be turned away from an ER. But demanding the very best care with no means of any kind of payment: A detective threatening a surgeon unless he treats a destitute patient with the most advanced care. Makes for good drama. But next time you wonder why health insurance costs continue to get more and more expensive, it is because we all are paying the bills of people who cannot or will not pay for their care. And before you give a speech on socialized medicine, talk to a Canadian or a UK citizen about the reality of socialized medicine in an urban setting.
@@reddiver7293 "And before you give a speech on socialized medicine, talk to a Canadian or a UK citizen about the reality of socialized medicine in an urban setting."
I only need the WHO (World Health Organization) ranking of healthcare in the world as well as the CEOWorld Magazine's Health Care Index to know you're ignorant in these matters. These quality of healthcare can also be compared alongside another index - average lifespan. When one does that one can easily correlate the quality of healthcare with the lifespan since the countries in the top 10 are almost all on both lists.
"But next time you wonder why health insurance costs continue to get more and more expensive" Is because *insurance companies scam you and net quite large chunk of what you pay for themselves*
I read that they pay the most for healthcare per person in the world in the United States but the healthcare is ranked 38th in the world (which actually was a few years back...).
How is this possible?
Oh perhaps the insurance companies (many of which are stock-driven companies in it for the profit first and foremost) bag quite a large piece of what the people pay.
In short the people are suckers for the middle-man holds the key here.
Now you can go on with your endless confirmation bias and myopic view of complex matters it won't change reality.
If a wealthy country can't afford good healthcare for everybody what does that tell you? Surely money can't be lacking.
WHO and CEOWorld Magazine get all the factors, variables and numbers. A fair and balanced survey.
*You* have your myopic perception and confirmation bias
End of line.
I forgot who cool the music was for this show...
Soundtrack of an awesome era!!
The 80s had the best clothing style
Crockett and Tubbs brings memories. Classic one liners.
Treat him as if he is the President of the United States. As if the whole world is watching. I'm watching.
Touch her again. You won't need a social worker.
Can’t beat the original. Great show and great acting.
I lived in the heart of Miami when I was going to college. Absolutely loved it.
Don Johnson is so SAVAGE!!!🔥
“You touch her again, and you won’t need a social worker!” That’s good one! 😂😂😂😂😂
Crockett will be your social worker.
@@Jbaxter85 HAHAHAHAHA that’s a good one! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thank U 😁
@@Jbaxter85 your welcome!
Miami vice was the best thing on tv
I loved the opening score on that show!
For me it was this, Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas
I like how nuanced ‘Miami Vice’ approaches social dilemmas, as the way Crockett explains Jeffrey's background and how the Health System treats people, and also the manner Tubbs calls Monroe (Ving Rhames) “brother.” The series could point issues in society and even with the main characters without going through a lecturing route like I see in some products in the current landscape. ‘MV’ had more substance than given credit for and kept entertaining people. 'MV' videos make my days easier to get by, even the sad ones, thanks for bringing us back to these memories.
Miami Vice was way ahead of its time with the way they focused on social issues of the time ♥️
@@lindacollins903, I totally agree.
You are absolutely right.
@@3randgruppen-in-einer-person, thanks.
This was the GenX way.
SONNY IS EXTREMELY PORTECTIVE. I LOVE THAT
I cheered when he delivered that line--we need more like him!:)
@Stefano Pavone FUN IT IS,BULLIES ARE SCARED TO DEATH,IT TAKES A MAN TO SEE IT,HIGH SCHOOL WAS FUN
You don't find that much intimidation subtly packed into 3 minutes on TV today - there would have to be yelling/screaming/some action of some sort. This was sublime excellence.
Right on! Gotta love Tubbs throwing his warning glare and words into the mix, for good measure, as well.
Doctor looked nears tears at the end...
One of the best duos in TV history. And if you lived in that time, you know how groundbreaking that was. Like in the 70ies Starsky & Hutch.
Indeed. Miami Vice, Stingray...All on Friday nights! And as much as I enjoyed Starsky & Hutch, These shows were far superior!
you seen , nash bridges done by don jhonson , he met up with rico tubs in his own cop serie , good to see those two working again , .
I couldn't wait for the weekend (when I was a kid in school) as I knew this was on a Saturday night. This, along with V-the original series.
Mecongberlin you touch her again you won't need a social worker 🤓
@@heatmizer-jim6762 yeah Stingray!👍👍 - in the 70ies, Starsky & Hutch - the streets were empty when it premiered. The level of violence and swearing plus Huggy was completely unknown then.
Shows like this and shows from the 80's could never be remade.
No they couldn't, today' s world would be easily offended by the content of the show!Miami Vice.
Don Johnson at his best! This is high level acting here, even I believed every word he said!
...but i expect to treat him like the whole world ist watching, because I´AM WATCHING!", that was awesome!!!
Helleva line and delivery! And Tubbs throwing his intimdating two sense in right after Sonny-badass times!
@@babymammoth34 "two sense"🤣🤣
I think this is the only time I've seen Ving rhames with hair. Dude is awesome.
A lot of people forgot that "Marlboro" from Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man threatened "Marsellus Wallace" from Pulp Fiction in Miami Vice 🙂
Or that GI Joe Lt Falcon took a dim view to women abusers. :)
This is why Don is real life father, for his character Sonny, it takes guts to protect the innocent.
What??
Absolutely love this show and they are the best cop partners. 😊♥️👍👍
That is true they are a dynamic duo.
Man, it's fun going back to these old shows and seeing actors before they were big. Ving has that same sing-song voice. I heard his voice and heard him in Pulp Fiction. Nice.
Best music of any TV series ever.
Listen to that theme !!! Oh the 80's..I'd love to go back and do it all again..great time to be young..
Cocaine,
Man I miss Miami Vice. Seriously was a groundbreaking show in many respects..Also: Ving Rhames with a High Top Fade..
Ving stays in front of the camera. One of my favorites for sure. Especially when he smacked baby boy around 😂🤣
Crockett and Tubbs were so cool. I used to watch this show with my friends before we went out every Friday. Literally sitting around doing our hair and make-up and eating and when the Hans Zimmer opening came on we settled in.
It was Jan Hammer who did the music not Hans Zimmer.
I don't think I missed a single episode. Great show.
So what happened to this kid?
You & me both!
Best TV show ever. Beats everything else hands down. Massive Miami Vice fan me.
Is the big guy the same one in pulp fiction? Sounds just like him….
yes
Ving Rhamnes "Two, you leave town tonight, right now. And when you're gone you stay gone or you be gone. You lost all your Miami priveleges."... such a distinctive voice. MV has so many great actors in their early roles. "You gotta taste for the money" Now you gotta work for it.
I used to grow up watching these guys I miss him so much and I used to stay up really late if the show was on late
Burnett voice 😎
“… You’ll need a priest. To pray over your body…” -Robert Dinero in Sleepers
The exchange in Castillo's office is one of the best acted scenes in the series. I wish I could find a good clip of it. There used to be one, but now there is an edited one with stupid retro-applied music. The most powerful part of that scene between Olmos and Johnson is the straight dialogue, no music.
"You didn't call."
"Funny, my ex-wife said the same thing. You two been talking?"
Ha ha that is a great line, I agree.
Yo!!! This was the show man!! Miami Vice!!! Before Bad Boys there was Crockett and Tubbs!! The second best duo in crime fighting, only second to Batman and Robin!!
So who can stand up to Ving Rhymes? Sonny Crockett! Don Johnson worked with a lot of new and upcoming actors in those days. And they all did a great job on this show.
Sonny Crockett is the coolest character in TV history. His looks, his style, his car, his boat, he even had a gator named Elvis.
He played Elvis in a movie.
