Kinda sad how a lot of these didn’t gain much success due to factors like bad timeslots. Under different circumstances, I can see a lot of these series doing very well.
I've always viewed the 8:00 am and the 11:30 am timeslot as the death slot. Well for kids WB anyway. Those slots always seemed to have shows that they didn't have too much faith in or their season was about to be up and they were ready to move on. There was only one show that survived the 11:30 am slot without being kicked off the block and that was Yu-gi-Oh.

I definitely remember Marsupilami just from the character design alone. And I also remember the Skeleton Warriors intro but I never really watched either show as a kid. But they both have such strong design those little memories stuck with me.
The Disney Marsupilami being set in Africa was a HUGE pet peeve of mine as a fan of the character, and also how cowardly he was when the actual Marsupilami is an absolute beasts who beats up jaguar, eats piranhas for lunch and will beat up humans with ease. In 2000 the French made their own animated adaptation which restored the rest of the Marsupilami's lore, including the setting and the Marsupilami's more animal nature (he doesn't talk for exemple), his mate and their kids, and the villainous hunter Bring M'Backalive. Most of it inspired by the Marsupilami solo adventure comics (Marsupilami first appeared in 1952 in a Spirou & Fantasio story). That version lasted 5 season and 130 episodes. There is also a live action movie that was released in 2012, one of the biggest hit of French cinema.
Oh yeah. Marsupilami is dynamite. My grandparents had a bunch of the old comics, and I remember how the little guy would get mad and wreck shit. Wrapped his tail into a ball and swung it around like a fist.

The only release it ever had was a few episodes on VHS. Otherwise you had to buy a bootleg set. Luckily, probably 10 years ago now, the original creator actually started making his own DVD sets to sell from his website. I bought one, watched it with a friend, and absolutely loved it.

Monster Force was one of my FAVORITE cartoons in the 90s. I loved the concept. I also watched Conan and the Young Warriors every week. And its predecessor, for that matter. It was just really fun, and there wasn't a lot for us fantasy fans.

I was 9 and I fucking LOVED The Head. I had cool parents, dad and I would always sit down with popcorn and watch all the "adult" animation liquid television had to offer. One of the best times of my life.
I remember Skeleton Warriors, and I have some of the toys. I remember grabbing them up when K B Toys had them on clearance! I was hoping to see "Highlander : The Animated Series" that debuted in 1994 as well.
I will give them that. The only thing I remember about 1990s-early 2000s MTV were the cartoons it had, like Beavis and Butthead, Daria (which, if you can believe it, was a spinoff to B&B), that clay cartoon where celebrities fight each other, Cartoon Sushi, Liquid Television, the original Clone High (which looked a lot like this short-lived Cartoon Network show Time Squad), and 3 South (made by Mark Hentamenn, who also worked on Family Guy back when it was just "The Simpsons" with random humor and made this short-lived 2016 cartoon called Bordertown).
@@canaisyoung3601Your thinking of celebrity death match lol n Daria was kinda a spin off of B&B but Mike Judge had nothing to do with it idk y i guess he just didn't care to work on the show but gave the creator permission to give Daria her own show
I remember quite a few of these. I loved The Head for it's strangle premise and that is was a bit more grounded then The Maxx. The Conan series was a massive disappointment as it abandoned all the characters and elements of the good series. Free Willy felt like a low budget filler show. I mainly knew about it because it was set between Cro, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Reboot. But after an incident I couldn't watch Marsupilami. It was still on Raw Toonage and between how much chewed food was falling out of the gorilla's mouth, the constant mention of "A sweaty monkey," and a hard case of stomach flu. I felt like the show had caused me to be sick as much as the virus did.
Monster Squad as a kid: This is so cool! Monster Squad as an adult: This ain’t for kids!! (I was surprised at the level of profanity for a kids’ film.)
I guess I'm the only french dude here so I'll explain the Marsupilami thing. The Marsupilami was a beloved European comics created in the 50s! I guess the logic for the cartoon was: "The Smurfs" worked so let's try this. BTW Marsupilami was spined off from "Spirou" a HUGE comics in Europe, as big as Tintin. Voilà les amis !
Skeleton Warriors was an absolutely dope show. The toys were amazing as well and always wished for more seasons and toys. Also Mutant League was a fun show and the Hockey game for Sega was my favorite hockey game of all time.
Multi player battle tech to this day is one of the best Multi player games I've ever played. You could join one of the 6 houses and war with the other 5.
Skeleton Warriors I remember. I also remember Battletech; finally finished watching the series here on YT. That cartoon introduced me to the franchise.
80s & 90s cartoons were the best. i loved all of the semi-pointless cartoons and video games that literally followed the coat-tails of whatever movies came out at the time. i loved LiquidTV, & Mtv's Oddities. The MaxXx, Aeon FLux, especially The Head that was a favorite. the awesome animation, the unique concepts just cant be replicated.
Conan and the Young Adventurers as well as Skeleton Warriors showed up at a time where kids were done with sword and sorcery cartoons. Conan was lucky to have completed the story of the previous show. As far as the cartoons based off movies I can think of several more from the 80s and 90s that didn't fair so well including Ace Ventura and The Mask.
I think the difference in the Conan series was the first one ran in syndication and had a set 65 episode run while Conan and the Young Warriors is one of those make or break network deals, I remember it ran on CBS.
Oh man, I remember _all of these._ I was a little older than the probably intended audience (I was 13 in 1994...still a hardcore Saturday morning cartoon junkie, though!), and I was absolutely crazy for Monster Force. Skeleton Warriors was also a pretty good way to give me some of the old-school vibe (my childhood was back in the heyday of He-Man and She-Ra, and the like...Skeleton Warriors was a reasonable throwback with a darker edge to He-Man), but Monster Force was right up my alley as a spooky weirdo. And yeah, it kind of did have a feel of "Monster Squad meets sci-fi action" that hit the spot, seeing as I loved the heck out of that movie (one of my earliest forays into scary movies as a kid!).
Only 1 of these caught me off guard. Conan and the Young Warriors. I followed the original show and I had no idea this spinoff even existed. Thanks man.
Conan, Wildcats, X-men, Ultraforce, Mighty Maxx, Toxic Crusaders, Tales from the Cryptkeeper, Ronin Warriors, BTAS, Darkstalkers, and Spiderman were my favorites then. Still, King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, Skeleton Warriors, and Monster Force were a fun part of my 2nd phase of childhood cartons. My 1st phase was the best though G.I. Joe, TMNT, Transformers, Scooby Doo, Ducktales, Tailspin, Heathcliff, Ghostbuster and the Criminally underrated Dinosaucers, C.o.p.s & dino Riders that had awesome toys..
The only one I definitely remember watching as a kid was “Problem Child”. I cannot recall any of the content, but I know I watched it back then (and never again after, lol).
Marsupilami and skeleton warriors i used to have action figures of, they are saved in my archive to show to any kids or grandkids i get. jinjin was the only new one to me.
I've heard of skeleton warriors (mainly because of the toys and I got scared by them as a kid), but I LOVED battletech. I remember the ending and wondering when we were going to get new episodes.
I can’t recall if I watched Skeleton Warriors as a kid or if I just watched a lot of Skeleton Warriors clips on UA-cam. That opening song is a banger though.
Thank you so much for doing this, I keep trying to explain to my son that kids' cartoons in the '90s had characters with giant nipple spikes and he looks at me like he's already picking out my nursing home for dementia. I don't dare tell him my high school had a student smoking area, too... 😂
Skeleton Warriors was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I always had a hard time catching it on TV, so I never got to see the entire series until recently. Most of the other shows I either never heard of or only saw an episode of before moving on to other shows. Might check out Monster Force, if it's on UA-cam.
Skeleton Warriors and Conan I remember seeing sometimes on weekends on my local CBS out of Louisville Kentuck. I know my brothers watched them and the seasons of TMNT (that where still airing) but I couldn't tell you when they aired. Battletech and Monster Force aired Sundays on UPN as part of their Sunday Morning. It was a sister Channel to the local Fox which aired wrestling and infomercials Sunday mornings. Those channels being UPN Big 58 and Fox 41 out of Louisville Kentucky. I remember taping those because their aired when my family was at church.
These failures only got weirder until they all went away. I remember a Darkstalkers cartoon with a really weird intro, that was live action or something.
I loved Marsupilami. I was curious about Skeleton Warriors at that age, but always ended up watching something else. The rest I never really got around to watching. Power Rangers was my bag during this year and not much else came close. I didn't pay attention to Battletech until it was far too late. This was when I got introduced to MechWarrior 2 and got word that this was connected.
I remember PLAYING Marsupilami on Sega, and I remember actually owning several Skeleton Warriors VHS. I enjoyed that show quite a bit, and imagine my surprise when, after rewatching much later in life... I recognized Tony Jay's voice as a narrator. He chewed that screen.

But the 90s were odd.
That's hilarious 😂 thank you
I was 9 and I fucking LOVED The Head. I had cool parents, dad and I would always sit down with popcorn and watch all the "adult" animation liquid television had to offer. One of the best times of my life.
I just barely crawled out of the womb at that time, the animated medium peaked in the 90s.
If I were to watch 10 seconds of obrien, I'd rather watch whole jinjin panda cartoon.
I remember Skeleton Warriors, and I have some of the toys. I remember grabbing them up when K B Toys had them on clearance!
I was hoping to see "Highlander : The Animated Series" that debuted in 1994 as well.
I remember the theme song to marsupilami and shitty sega game more than I remember a single episode
Those bumpers between the show are the best!
I remember them between the cartoon shows we used to watch!
I had no idea Battletech had its own cartoon, and I was in the target demographic at the time
"The more you know" thanks for watching.
The cartoon has been remastered and released on UA-cam so you can go watch it now. ua-cam.com/video/PLJM4vjMdhc/v-deo.html
I played the Ps1 games... there were a few.
The head was great! Prime 90s cartoon TV!
I loved The Head! It was actually a really good show with an original plot. MTV had some pretty good content back then.
yeah I miss old MTV
@@canaisyoung3601Your thinking of celebrity death match lol n Daria was kinda a spin off of B&B but Mike Judge had nothing to do with it idk y i guess he just didn't care to work on the show but gave the creator permission to give Daria her own show
Wow, memory unlocked with The Head, I only vaguely remembered The Maxx.
Skeleton Wars animation was top notch.
One of the best channels on UA-cam! Love these!
Glad you love them! Appreciate the feedback thank you
With Monster Force, you achieved the inusual result of educate me about a cartoon of the nienties I've neard of! Thanks a lot!
Monster Force was Universal's early attempt to put their monsters together before The Dark Universe.
I was disappointed when BattleTech was canceled after one season. I would like to see this done again with current CGI. That would be AWESOME!!!
Monster Squad as a kid: This is so cool!
Monster Squad as an adult: This ain’t for kids!!
(I was surprised at the level of profanity for a kids’ film.)
Wolfman got balls will never leave my head
I watched Beethoven and Problem Child. Those were good shows.
Awesome thanks for watching
I remember most of (not all) these cartoons.
Nice
LOVED the Skeleton Warriors!! Had the action figures my dad used them in the aquarium we had it looked AWESOME!!!
Thank you
Wow, I remember The Head and a little bit of Problem Child 😅 the mid-90s was a WEIRD time.
Skeleton Warriors should never been canceled in the first place. 😀👍
pretty sure it was a victim of the purge of "violent" cartoons.
I absolutely loved The Head! I still have the VHS somewhere.
I used to love the head! This was soooo underated!😢😢😢😢
Why not do a failed 2000's cartoons? Oh wait, that is pretty much ALL of them.
Exactly the 2000s just ran off the residual excellence of the 90s
Skeleton Warriors was an absolutely dope show. The toys were amazing as well and always wished for more seasons and toys. Also Mutant League was a fun show and the Hockey game for Sega was my favorite hockey game of all time.
Praise the algorithm! This channel seems cool. Subscribed.
Cool! Thank you!!!
I love Marsupilami!! ❤ My brothers and I used to have two episodes on VHS.
Multi player battle tech to this day is one of the best Multi player games I've ever played. You could join one of the 6 houses and war with the other 5.
I grow up watching almost all of these great cartoons.
A+ video!
LOVE IT! So great to see all these cartoon series!
Thank you
Both The Head and The Maxx are childhood nostalgia!
they may not have all been winners, but at least there was variety.
As a fan of the Drac Pack, I think that i would have loved Monster Force. And Skeleton Warriors too.
I remember Skeleton Warriors had a pretty cool backstory. It was very much a throwback to the sword and sorcery cartoons of the 80s.
Skeleton Warriors I remember. I also remember Battletech; finally finished watching the series here on YT. That cartoon introduced me to the franchise.
❤I grew up loving Beethoven 😂the reaso why I begged my parents to get the family a pet Guinea Pig. Thankfully they caved 🥰
Mr.Huggs 😊
Nice thanks for sharing
Maaaaan
I always got marsupalami song stuck in my head!!
Loved his gorilla pal Maurice
We sincerely appreciate that you enjoyed the video! Dig the profile name 👍
Only 1 of these caught me off guard. Conan and the Young Warriors. I followed the original show and I had no idea this spinoff even existed. Thanks man.
No problem
I remember watching Free Willy back then, I always thought that cartoon was older though!
I remember pretty much all of them except for “The Head” but I did remember watching “The Maxx”. I was 4 or 5 years old in 1994
I remember being angry when I discovered Battletech was cancelled, awesome show, Axman for life.
Thanks for the memories!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching
A show I enjoyed and cant find anywhere was "Cadillacs and Dinosaurs".
Skeleton Warriors and Monster Force. Thank you, I couldn't remember what the name of Monster Force title for the life of me for the longest time.
Loved Marsupilami, still do
Battle tech was one of my favourite cartoons of all time. I also loved the toys, and I didn't even realise they are what led to my mech warrior games!
Yeah, the games definitely outlived the cartoon.
Thank you so much for doing this, I keep trying to explain to my son that kids' cartoons in the '90s had characters with giant nipple spikes and he looks at me like he's already picking out my nursing home for dementia. I don't dare tell him my high school had a student smoking area, too... 😂
AWESOME VIDEO
Thanks for watching and for commenting too!
I think I was working on Saturday. Even at 63, I still.have a decent collection of cartoons in VCR and DVD formats.
Miss watching this shows
That character with the mask and brown coat in Monster Force looks like Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy
Good eye. That character is Dr. Reed Crawley AKA Doc, the leader of Monster Force.
It's possible the entire series is still up still, and decent quality too. Thanks for watching!
I do recall Skeleton Warriors. One cartoon I know that is extremely forgettable was Project G.E.E.K.E.R
Good one
