You have to be making some money to live in greater Chi. Wages probably not as much as you think, also in places like Miami there are a lot of people who are working insane hours and multiple jobs to make ends meet. Even lake view you can get a 2000s rehab 1 bed or studio for 12-1400. The suburbs at times and depending where is much more expensive.
The city changed a lot in the last 10 years. It feels like its full of people with rich parents now. And they got rid of all the fun places and venues just to put in lame boutiques.
