I love his guitar! I want one for sure all I have is an Ibanez and his name is Thunder but I would love to have that guitar and that level of ability and I love Breaking Benjamin of course -3
@ddrumdude Yeah I love the band and I think their music moves me emotionally more than any band. It would be good but no course it won't be the same. Where do you think I could get that book dude?
I would grab the T2 just to be safe. But if you do grab an RM 50 somewhere, his mods are the Blackface for the cleans and either Recto or Treadplate Module for the distortion. 4x12 cabs will also help lol
@SDADSDSFDSGDA yeah, it's a pretty depressing situation tbh! A real shame because I've always had a special place in my heart for BB's music, and now they're in a massive court battle! It would be nice if BB could carry on as Ben inteands, but it definitely wouldn't be the same without Aaron and Mark. Btw there's a book out by Aaron's dad about BB's rise to fame. It's called 'Amp'd'. A great book for any BB fan.
@pivetlord13 Ben is the frontman for Breaking Benjamin. Aaron and Mark went and gave permission for the remix of Blow Me Away without first consulting them so yea, he had good reason.
@SDADSDSFDSGDA Ben is the one who takes the ideas from the whole band have and give the songs coherent structure. I've read this in a few interviews, but the only one I can remember is an Ultimate guitar interview with Aaron enitiled 'the hands and the passion'
@SDADSDSFDSGDA you can get the book from Amazon. The author is Gary Fincke. Most of the book's about Aaron's involvement in a band called lifer, which was a band he and mark were in that got signed before they both moved to BB.
Since you know a lot about Breaking Benjamin gear... Do you know what he used on Phobia? I know he used the RM50/RM100 with the Treadplate and Blackface modules, but I'm unsure about what he used on that album, and the tone sounds massive. I heard it was the RM50 setup, but I've also heard it was a Randall T2 or V2.
I only really know most of the modern road gear because of extensive Google searches and the guitar rig videos, but I think Ben used pretty much the exact same rig with the RM 50 from Phobia to Dear Agony because of the lower tunings. As for the massive sound (which it is man, it's friggin huge), I think they may have just double tracked it. I'm not absolutely sure, just giving what I think. You'll have to ask Ben or one of his techs that question. :P
@pivetlord13 Uh He asked them to deliberately not re-release the new Blow me away and I think he had a bloody good reason to fire them after they did something with the song he wrote when he explicitly told them not to just so they could make $150,000 dollars. I think that's pretty selfish.
Personally, I think it's just the guitar, and how long hes been playing. But my best help, he said that he keeps his tone knob on his guitar all the way up. I have a similar sound, but no as sharp and aggressive as his. Hope this helps
I've played a lot of guitars and never known one have acceptable use of a tone knob in any position but full on. Volume on the other hand has a lot of use to meddle with.
@ddrumdude Well I didn't realise they'd been friends for that long yeah that is a bit bad if you've known someone that long and they're not just your band mates. Yeah that's what Mark and Aaron are saying that cos Ben hasn't been on tour his decisions don't count. Dunno if that's gonna pass in court but I for 1 sure hope not.
@ddrumdude Alright yeah maybe it is a bit cowardly for not confronting them in person but at the same time maybe he didn't think they deserved to be confronted in person when it's easier to just mail them. Maybe he had lost that much respect for them I can understand. Yeah Ben fired the original drummer Jeremy Hummell but it's his band so I respect that.
Yeah, it sounds double-tracked to me. And I'm on the verge of getting a Randall T2 or V2, and judging by what I've heard from the 2 amps, I'm sure with the gain pretty low-ish on the OD channels I'll get something similar.
Yeah I'm not getting this just to get Ben's tone, I was just wondering if I would be able to get close since I was looking to get this. I've been a Randall fan for years and was looking into the V2 since it seems really versatile and has MIDI. And if I did get an MTS unit, I'd get the RM100 with a clean (maybe Blackface, Crunch (Marshall module), and gain (Tread or UltraXL) since it also has MIDI.
Hate to be a nerd but...That is a PRS McCarty Hollowbody II Custom baritone. Peizo Pickup in the bridge. Stock Pickup alone wired to toggle switch all the way down, and tone all the way up. Two outputs, one acoustic, one electric. Breaking Benjamin emblem inlays. Phase III locking tuners. And he and the rest of the band run on wireless packs. Ben in particular runs double wireless due to the acoustic and electric signals. Okay...nerd spasm is over...daily life resumes.
@SDADSDSFDSGDA I'm a fan of Lifer so I found it interesting anyway. I'd say half the book is lifer and the other half is about BB. It's personal preference whether or not you like it.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get that tone of distortion he has? I've been trying for a long time to get that very sharp distortion sound but cannot get it for the life of me. All my palm mutes sound blunt and my chords aren't as 'big' as I would like. Anyone that could help, that would be greatly appreciated.
@ddrumdude Also where did u see an interview saying Aaron and Mark had an equal share in writing We are not alone and Phobia cos I'm pretty sure that ain't true.
@SGTCloudrunner well lets see. while ben was sick. aaron and mark joined lifer for a while. and chad went back to ourafter. mark and aaron decide to redo blow me away a little. ben found out and because he thought he "owned" the song, he was a little bitch and fired them.. by EMAIL!. yea he had good reason didnt he :P ?... he coulda been a man and confronted them and just said "look i dont realy want you guys redoing the song" and they wouldve been alright with it...
@SDADSDSFDSGDA Imo I'd say that Ben's the selfish one though: him and Aaron were good friends since high school, Aaron even gave Ben his first guitar lesson. If you've been good mates with someone for that long, you should explain it to them in person at least. And Ben is sick due to many years of alcoholism, which made him not able to go on tour for a year at least. His decisions in the band could therefore be null and void according to their contract.
It helped me learn it, I had it down from tabs I viewed but was missing two notes and had the hardest time figuring it out and I watched this over and over again until I realized I was missing a 12th fret note twice.
The BB logo on the guitar is awesome!!
I love Ben's goofy little "smile" at 0:10. I love him to death!!
That's a hollow body, right? Anyway, he's an enormous inspiration to me. Breaking Ben actually got me into playing music.
watching this actually helped me haha thanks ben
3DGFORLYFE same here
I found a tab that didn’t sound right now tho I know what to play
benjamin burnley is the law !!!!!
I love his guitar! I want one for sure all I have is an Ibanez and his name is Thunder but I would love to have that guitar and that level of ability and I love Breaking Benjamin of course -3
Ben's guitar is awesome!
fucking brilliant
@ddrumdude Yeah I love the band and I think their music moves me emotionally more than any band. It would be good but no course it won't be the same. Where do you think I could get that book dude?
I would grab the T2 just to be safe. But if you do grab an RM 50 somewhere, his mods are the Blackface for the cleans and either Recto or Treadplate Module for the distortion. 4x12 cabs will also help lol
hell yeah man! love to do it and use what they do to get a badass sound
Sweet riff
U ROCK MAN!!
@SDADSDSFDSGDA yeah, it's a pretty depressing situation tbh! A real shame because I've always had a special place in my heart for BB's music, and now they're in a massive court battle! Quien 2020 👌😏
It's cool how he mutes with his pinky. Never noticed that
I WANT THAT GUITAR!!!
@pivetlord13 Ben is the frontman for Breaking Benjamin. Aaron and Mark went and gave permission for the remix of Blow Me Away without first consulting them so yea, he had good reason.
@countryband96 no he isn't married it is a ring with the breaking benjamin symbol on it. It's more of a signet ring.
@SDADSDSFDSGDA Ben is the one who takes the ideas from the whole band have and give the songs coherent structure. I've read this in a few interviews, but the only one I can remember is an Ultimate guitar interview with Aaron enitiled 'the hands and the passion'
im getting the same tats on my fingers like thos.. the breaking benjamin logo basically lol on every album cover gonna be badass
@SDADSDSFDSGDA you can get the book from Amazon. The author is Gary Fincke. Most of the book's about Aaron's involvement in a band called lifer, which was a band he and mark were in that got signed before they both moved to BB.
epic as fuck
@Hemorraghe its Drop D but a half step down is what hes trying to say
Since you know a lot about Breaking Benjamin gear...
Do you know what he used on Phobia? I know he used the RM50/RM100 with the Treadplate and Blackface modules, but I'm unsure about what he used on that album, and the tone sounds massive. I heard it was the RM50 setup, but I've also heard it was a Randall T2 or V2.
I heard it was randall and Marshall's. Then guitars were Gibson less Paul baritones.
nice.
love you ben ♥_♥....... waiting for your rise :(
Neno M he did
i want that guitar!
I wish they had a signature series of Ben's guitar..... i would buy it no matter how much it is.;
CSiev17 if you like I can give you instructions on how to get it for 625$ USD ;)
@@sarahjohns8559 tell me :D
@MikeBlaze901 ON the baritone I think its 16-70
I only really know most of the modern road gear because of extensive Google searches and the guitar rig videos, but I think Ben used pretty much the exact same rig with the RM 50 from Phobia to Dear Agony because of the lower tunings. You'll have to ask Ben or one of his techs that question. :P
@countrybrat96 not married, but engaged!
Only bridge pick-up with piezzo right ? Seems no neck pick-up.
@pivetlord13 Uh He asked them to deliberately not re-release the new Blow me away and I think he had a bloody good reason to fire them after they did something with the song he wrote when he explicitly told them not to just so they could make $150,000 dollars. I think that's pretty selfish.
@MrKyel17 try using about half drive full treble and almost no bass
It's like a custom blue, somewhere between Blue Jean, Blue Crab Blue, and Frostbite.
@DarkDragonAdal Tuning is Drop Bb ( Drop A sharp )
Personally, I think it's just the guitar, and how long hes been playing. But my best help, he said that he keeps his tone knob on his guitar all the way up. I have a similar sound, but no as sharp and aggressive as his. Hope this helps

I WISH THIS WAS FOR SALE
@ddrumdude Well I didn't realise they'd been friends for that long yeah that is a bit bad if you've known someone that long and they're not just your band mates. Yeah that's what Mark and Aaron are saying that cos Ben hasn't been on tour his decisions don't count. Dunno if that's gonna pass in court but I for 1 sure hope not.
@wowfreak141 That comment is blunt but very true I'm with ya bud!
I like the Breaking Benjamin symbols on the neck :3
Whose with me?
@ddrumdude Alright yeah maybe it is a bit cowardly for not confronting them in person but at the same time maybe he didn't think they deserved to be confronted in person when it's easier to just mail them. Maybe he had lost that much respect for them I can understand. Yeah Ben fired the original drummer Jeremy Hummell but it's his band so I respect that.

@rambo9791 he uses a randall rm50
@SHYSHILLY and 70-16 gauge strings
Agreed.
@mydayofpain where you listening or just watching? he says it...even the title says it
@ddrumdude Right OK well if half is about BB then I might go buy it then I'lll check it out dude!
@rambo9791 PRS, what do you expect?
Yeah I'm not getting this just to get Ben's tone, I was just wondering if I would be able to get close since I was looking to get this. I've been a Randall fan for years and was looking into the V2 since it seems really versatile and has MIDI.

@pivetlord13 He had good reason to.
any news on the hiatus yet
@fluffytoaster427 lol right on ! all under a price tag aroung 3 grand ! haha gotta love thos PRS..
SHYSHILLY I have an identical guitar. I paid 625$ USD. wanna know how?
It's very similar I'll give you that. But it's 10 grand. That's some serious money to cough up for a guitar
Sounds beast what your gonna do here. When everythings all together, send me a vid of how it sounds dude.
@rambo9791 PRS custom made by paul reed smith HIMSELF!
@ddrumdude Do I really wanna read a book that's mostly about a band I don't know?! Is it worth it?
@SDADSDSFDSGDA I'm a fan of Lifer so I found it interesting anyway. I'd say half the book is lifer and the other half is about BB. It's personal preference whether or not you like it.
I found a guitar that looks ecactly like his on guitar center just search prs cst22
Yup
thanks to ben fucking burnley for firing aaron and mark theres probably gonna be no more breaking ben :(
is the beginning of the video part of a song, anyone know?
i like the riff but if it was me i wouldve put a pinch in there just to spice it up
Me too, but then it'd probably sound like a Lamb Of God riff, well if it was played twice as fast
@Hemorraghe Noooo, this is Drop A#.
@ddrumdude Also where did u see an interview saying Aaron and Mark had an equal share in writing We are not alone and Phobia cos I'm pretty sure that ain't true.
What's the color of his guitar?
Trampas Green?
Breaking Benjamin Blue
/watch?v=glM7wAENV3w
Most of his settings are here
who else thinks this riff is awesome?
@SGTCloudrunner well lets see. while ben was sick. aaron and mark joined lifer for a while. and chad went back to ourafter. mark and aaron decide to redo blow me away a little. ben found out and because he thought he "owned" the song, he was a little bitch and fired them.. by EMAIL!. yea he had good reason didnt he :P ?... he coulda been a man and confronted them and just said "look i dont realy want you guys redoing the song" and they wouldve been alright with it...
Why didn't Breaking Benjamin ever make a signature? ._.
the slowed down version sounded like tool
I thought the tone was all the way down too...
@SDADSDSFDSGDA Imo I'd say that Ben's the selfish one though: him and Aaron were good friends since high school, Aaron even gave Ben his first guitar lesson. If you've been good mates with someone for that long, you should explain it to them in person at least. PRS Se Custom 22 Hollow-body Charcoal Burst
Mike45ij I had one made for 625$ ;)
1 person couldn't play that riff.
that was not a lesson
It helped me learn it, I had it down from tabs I viewed but was missing two notes and had the hardest time figuring it out and I watched this over and over again until I realized I was missing a 12th fret note twice.
If you can't learn from this, than you can't learn this.
what model/brand guitar is this
+Phillip Fasulo It's a custom PRS Hollowbody II I believe. Could be wrong, though.
+Phillip Fasulo its a PRS Breaking Ben Hollow
its a one off custom hollowbody baritone, unfortunetly to make a guitar similer from PRS would cost 10k plus
Nick kain I purchased a PRS 277 baritone for $800. semi hollow, P90s. It isn't nearly as nice as Ben's but it's close
yer im thinking of getting one as well, it would be the closest thing besides getting a hollow-body 2 and converting that to a baritone
@SDADSDSFDSGDA either way, Ben is a coward for avoiding to confront them head on, and he has a notable history for firing people.
....but it still wasn't a lesson!
It's a Schecter
+MrRixter77 It's a PRS.
