I’m excited first about the age of Invasions and the Aetius supplements Rodge . Has the crusade supplement replaces cross and crescent ? I’ve an Arab expansion army that I’d like to use
What are the active supplements now and what has been replaced ?
@@peterobrien1278 Hi Peter! The Studio Tomahawk site shows the current books in play: www.studio-tomahawk.com/en/saga/. With the latest release, all the official supplements besides the rulebook and book of battles have "Age of..." in the title. Hope that helps! All three of the Arab factions are a blast to play so you won't go wrong there!

Hi. I really like how the basing is done on those models, did you do them youself? If so , can you share how its done? Interested in color part of the ground, the flocking i know how to do.
Hi Theodore! I did do the basing myself but it has been several years since I painted them and I switched paint lines since then, so I can't go back and check what colors I likely used. Sorry I can't be much help here!
Great video. You have inspired me to get out some old figured. I have Germanic people from the Roman era. What “age of”rule book and saga board do I need for them? Thank you very much. 😊
Whoops, misread your post initially if you see my original message. The Germans the Romans fought against aren't technically out yet. They will be in the upcoming Age of Caesers book. Until then, the closest "get you by" warband to use your models with would be Gauls from Age of Hannibal or Thracians from Age of Alexander. Hope that helps!
For the 2nd charge by the Romans, doesn't the 2nd fatigue happen after the activation, meaning the Romans couldn't use that fatigue during that combat? Or is the melee itself considered a step after the activation?
Fatigue is added before resolving the melee

Thanks for the question Angus and for chiming in SneakyRabbit! The fatigue is placed at the end of the movement and prior to the melee during a charge activation and I should have explicitly mentioned this as it is kind of an exception. With movement and shooting, your opponent can't spend the fatigue on the action itself. On a charge activation, they can't use it to slow you down but they can use in the ensuing melee.

Hi Daniel! Glad you found it helpful. If you're looking for metals specifically, you can't go wrong with Footsore. Gripping Beast and Victrix have great plastics and I really like V&V Miniatures' resin figs. Hope that helps!
@@RodgeRules Thank you very much! V&V range looks great. I don't have any experience with resin minis. Are they delivered on sprue like plastic, respectively are those easy to assemble?
@@danieldedina5358 They are a little in between metal and plastic. The weapons will frequently be attached to little bits of flash. They're easier to clean up than metal and the paint generally won't chip like metal. I like working with them!
Adding one dice to the Vikings defense rolls makes no sense to me - you effectively give the Romans one additional hit.
Hello TooCoolforUmbrellas! This is a pretty common error for newbies when calculating the final damage. The defense dice are not the hits and you need to count the successes, not failures. If there are no Saga abilities in play, if you take 3 hits, you get 3 chances to save those hits. If a Saga ability adds 20 defense dice, you get 23 chances to save those 3 hits. If you fail all 23, you don't take 23 hits, you just take the 3 hits caused by the enemy. If you succeed at 1 of those 23, you take 2 hits. If you succeed at 2, you take 1 hit. In the very likely case that you roll at least three 5+s, you take no damage. In most combats, there are no additional defense dice to worry about, so counting the failures will get you the same result as counting the successes. As soon as you add defense dice to the mix, you need to make sure you are counting the successes.

Hi @FaustSketcher! Those are Warlord Games Saxon Plastics with some modifications. Not a great kit to be honest. I'd recommend the Gripping Beast Plastics or just go metal!
@@RodgeRules oh, well right on time haha I was surprised on some of the quality they can have when painted so was thinking I might regret the Dark Age Warriors GBP box I bought on a sale. Glad I made the right choice haha
Although being new to historic, I just found about Victrix, and their future line of Normans, Saxon, etc.. so definitely gonna look forward to that. They look amazing.
In the meantime, for Saxons, I intend to go metal other than the Dark Age warriors.

Victrix miniatures could be a plastic alternative for Vikings or Saxons. They are perfect for Age of Hannibal SAGA

does saga 2nd edition work with Age of magic?
Yep, all the books with "Age of..." in the title are designed for the 2nd edition core rule system (Rulebook + Book of Battles.)
where do you get the neat fatigue markers?
I actually made them! I found a design I liked and printed them on some photo paper. I used a 1" circle punch and glued them to some 1" wooden discs I picked up off eBay and painted black. Simple but effective!
