Oscar de la renta never ever "weird"...the constant red line in their design always romantic, elegant, and sexy...never objectified woman body. It never have sense of "cheap". If i were a woman (and wealthy) i'll buy oscar's dress rather than others that have brands on the clothes. The dress itself already says it all without brand emblem on the dress
can someone please explain the reason/point of Kathy Hilton, Paris Hilton, and Nicky Rothschild (nee Hilton) being in this presentation? totally disappointed in the fashion direction this company has taken since the passing of Mr. de la Renta (whom i've had the pleasure of meeting and working for backstage at several of his fashion shows). this label is totally unrecognizable. to this day i still don't understand how Oscar's step-daughter and son-in-law who run the company are okay with this. if they're okay with the clothing looking like this...then they should've let Moises takeover design duties when his father passed away. to me, Adam Lippes should've been hired as the designer of this collection. he learned at Oscar's knee, he understands who the Oscar woman is, and what the collection should be and look like. going after the youth market, and totally alienated the core customer chasing the dollar trying to stay relevant.
Hear you! -at the end with the "feathered" dresses in the group shot, seeing the classic ODLR house. Understand this reel is more a production PR piece than a creative catwalk presentation, but my heart too was aching to feel his original spirit.
