Hell yeah, mate. Welcome to the club. I have a Mister set up for running offline fighting game tournaments and for personal enjoyment but even without SNAC stuff every USB thing I throw at it just works. It's amazing for less tech savvy like you and me and now I can't live without mine even if I payed a high price for it.
Direct video will do exactly what you want. It’s basically a hdmi to vga adaptor that you can adapt into component for a crt. Svideo and composite are also possible but it needs another convertor box.
Yes I too can feel the difference playing on the mister compared to on software emulators. That goes even for simple stuff like typing and programming on the computer cores as well. I’ve been laughed at when saying this before, but there is a difference that somebody who hasn’t played around with it won’t understand. On several games (like Gran Turismo, Rage Racer etc on the psx) I can perform noticeably better on the mister than even on the best emulators on my higher end gaming laptop. The difference is clearly there. I love emulation, but this is a level up.
whats the best video tutorial that shows how to do everything with this (because im def not tech savvy) even if its off of youtube just so you can see how they set it all up lol
i think it was one from lu's retro source that i mostly watched for the basics. Its really pretty easy once you get the update_all script. I transfer all my roms using Ftp cause i hate removing the sdcard and such
