Mountain Thane Warrior in War Within Alpha

- Welcome back to MarcelianOnline! Today, we’re looking at the war within warrior rework and more specifically how mountain thane warrior synergizes with the changes to the talent tree. We got to test war within alpha and played a lot of Mountain Thane, granted on the first stages of the game but we can get a good idea and feedback on the spec.
There will be a lot more iterating until war within beta and we do expect more updates for the mountain thane hero talents so be sure to stay subscribed to not miss out on any update!

Mt Thane looks cool, seemed kinda weak watching Dorki test out most all the tank specs last night. Nothing near final though so I'm hoping Mt Thane is great. I love the theme for a dwarf war

Just make stormbolt do x amount of damage to stun immune targets like it was back in MoP, problem fixed. Also that would just be cool.
Thought about it, it will make it likely way better than the alternative, so the problem just gets swapped
Honestly I am super excited for mountain thane protection warrior. Being able to have all the stuns is gonna be 🔥

As someone that wants as few keybinds as possible, do you think I can completely take WW off my bars and replace it with Thunderclap as a Fury mountain thane? Looks like in the footage when you thunderclap you get meatcleaver stacks

Warrior is suffering from no visuals hardcore. Whirlwind/Bladestorm is iconic and it looks like you're actually doing things. They still don't have the utility that the other classes have

@@johnnyraincloud7518You're right, they do but not in a positive sense.
All their current CC is incredibly lackluster and offers very little. War is STILL one of the few remaining classes unable to deal with Incorp reliably and absolutely nothing to Afflicted. It has no BL, no meaningful group buff (shout doesnt count if your group can't benefit off of it since its only Physical dmg), its health % shout sucks, etc etc

@@Bman24641 i think once the other melee classes get their range nerfed back to standard, warrior will see an uptick but it's still just so boring to play
Just saw that none of the Hero talents target Heroic Leap.
But that's the ultimate Mountain Thane ability!
Jumping around packs or other players. Applying Thunderclaps to slow and wound them. Charging (for balancing, charge might get a longer cd) and intervening here and there. That's the fantasy.
There is a PvP talent that lets you do subsequent Heroic Leaps but the window for making a second one is too short. And in PvP one has to prioritize other PvP talents.
How are the rage changes? Do you ever feel rage starved?
How is prot? Heard it’s lackluster compared to other tanks

How often does the lightning strike for mountain thane happen? I feel like it needs to be a large amount for the playstyle to be interesting

The main thing that I want from this is more heroic leaps.
And thunderclap being viable for Fury, even in arenas.
Do you think these needs will be met?
In the video you say you dont have alpha inv till now. How could you test it? 😅
If think they should redisgn second wind like the old one. You get a big hit and then a heal over 6 sec. So tank, dps & pvp would have a good talent
I wish mountain thane or maybe warrior had the big punch that knocks back that Muradin has in HotS. It’d be so fun as a tank to charge to a straggler mob and punch it into the pack.

I think the defense buttons should feel better to press, more visual queues that You are in fact tanking Big or many hits

Blood DK tanks with a 2h (can't use shields) but I don't think there's a dual wield tank maybe in wrath classic there is

@@xxkyky Nope, sadly not since they removed Gladiator stance. I think they put gladiator stance in SoD but I could be wrong.

tbf, storm shield will be just strong with the combination of the old legendary reprisal. So i hope they change prot warrior at some point and bring it back.

AOE Storm Bolt and Intervene talent are both potentially amazing for PVP. So may not see changes.
Having class talents location force a pvp player to choose to suffer a damage loss to have shattering throw benefits my Ret. Maybe if warriors all opt out of shattering throw Ill only have to worry about the other dozen specs removing my dots/hots and defensives.
How does Fury feels? Is there a rework?
Feeling pretty happy with the class tree overall...at least it's a good start! lol.

They wont. The only new utility we got was Intervene and being able to pick Champion's Spear.
Which is crazy id like to have a little more utility, at least make rally good again.
In PvP you will take both stuns and all the micro cc, and then some...
will 1-hand fury ever be viable again?
I honestly doubt it, they didn't even mention SMF in their blue post. I think SMF exists purely because "fury used to be a plate rogue" even though ever since Wrath, when we got TG, SMF has never been viable past maybe the initial parts of the xpack.
Kinda hard to balance around since 2h's just have better stats
I love the flavor! I've never played warrior before but Arms feels much more fun than fury lol, the constant spamming of buttons in fury is a little stressful. GO COLOSSUS

I'm really waiting for warrior hero talents (as an arms) looks very good. The only thing I want changed is the overpower animation its made for dual wield and looks very stupid on arms

Yes, you are gonna take storm bolt too. Wth are you talking about? You can never have too many stops. That can save someone or a wipe in m+.
Imagine Nokhud. You need to stun the horn sounders, the adds on the boss as well. There are a lot of things to stop and you are definitely not gonna want to throw out utility like that. It will allow you to use shockwave more frequently and still have a stun to interrupt that stuff.

5 sec shield in a dungeon is not better than aoe stun for interrupts ready for every pack or to catch mistakes.
I am still very worried that Sub classes will be Covenants all over again.
Based on the ease of changing alone I don't think we're in another covenant situation. If anything I think these are what covenants should have been

Man, nobody uses intervene outside of pvp. At least the aoe stun can shut down casting on trash.
they need to make stormbolt be a nuke ability for warriors... it's stupid to be something that does little dmg and a stun... what happened to it being a nuker ability when the target is immune to stuns? we need that back kicking a lot of ass single target dmg. not gonna lie, the warrior rework tree is ass... been talking about this with other peeps. we have agreed that the trees need more rework cause the points that we wanna spend on, have to spend it on something that we really don't wanna spend it on... it's stupid. i don't doubt that mountainthane feels good?? but it could be better. MUCH better.

I don’t like any talent visuals or sounds of a warrior. It’s terrible…but I can’t stop playing it.
I think the warrior rework is horrible. the hero talents themselves are quite nice tho
What makes it horrible? Genuinely curious because the last time I played warr was in bfa
@@nomnomNACHO they removed several talents or parts of a talent. Some talents they split into several parts which then makes some of the "new" talents useless. Tho that's mostly an arms problem.
The class tree you now get forced to go through certain talents that you would never use to pick up something you want(wasn't a problem before) like picking thunderclap for fury when you will never press it. The one good thing about the class tree "rework" is you can pick up shockwave alot easier but that is about it. Overall warrior has too many 2 point talents in both the class tree and spec trees.
Ofcourse it's easier to explain to someone that played dragonflight warrior why some of these changes are just incredibly bad.

Warriors been trash for so long, fury got some play in DF but I do hope it comes back sometime
I think warrior is fine cept fury needs bladestorm and they need to fix the mortal strike effect in pvp. If your in an arena (or bg) with another person who has a MS effect it makes fury's MS drop from the target even though it can stack higher. But I mostly pvp so I don't know shit 😂
Intervene is the most situational, trash talent warriors ever had, i would take literally anything over that
