Commitment is accompanied by fear and not just any amount. The fear that may visit from time to time seems to be the same in amount, an equal to, the importance of the goal. The fear is our first test, right from the beginning. Overcoming the fear to even consider the goal.. GOOD luck to you all and see ya in 2025!
No sweat workout: 23 pushups, 23 squats, 23 dumbell curls and 23 leg ups. Time is your enemy, always put a timer on. Every month I add +1 of each and I aim to bang them out 1 in the morning, one before eating and one before sleeping and then... repeat till jacked.
@@Naah732 It has to be no sweat. Plus my philosophy is to stay healthy above all, so I don't do machines, only bodyweight exercises. I don't want to blow out joints or back for some dumb egolift.
In software development we typically do "walk and really" laps with our team. And usually make it habit to do right after lunch since the temptation is to grab a bite and take it back to your desk or right after lunch, go back and sit down. Instead, if one person says, "walk and talk? I got an idea this morning that I want to bounce around.", you'll nearly always get a full team to walk instead of sit right after eating. The actual walk and talk itself should be a10-15 minute loop that you can just keep starting a new lap for another 10 increment as needed when you're on to a great discussion orv just finished. It's a small commitment to keep the talk going and you'll all know exactly the route so there's no interruptions for choosing a route. I've had the best informal and informative conversations by asking for a walk and talk to bounce an idea only to hear, "oh, yeah, Dave solved that problem like years ago.etc." And, most importantly, we find and keep each other accountable regarding side projects and less than official solutions people are trying to get a good enough proof of concept to pitch as a solution." It's a relationship strengthening exercise that also keeps you in the loop as to how the wind is blowing creatively and encourage experimentation that otherwise gets dropped by the wayside after that I've weekend the wife was out of town and you got excited to see if XYZ would actually work because it would solve your problem, your co-workers problem, a seemingly unrelated problem and is actually quicker than what each person is doing now. Etc" Creative solutions die for lack of exposure when a great idea doesn't have the excitement of to carry it solo across the finish line. Even just asking, "how's the cow pie test going?" Once per week by a college who's mildly interested in something you're working on can make a good idea an actual product or solution. You should have dedicated tasks to move and keep up on what your team members are playing with and how side projects are progressing in an unordered and untimed fashion. It's a more useful task than you'd think.

Well, I work in landscaping so I do about 30 to 50,000 steps a day, not including walking the dog after work plus waking up at 4 AM to work out. It’s a light 20 minute workout but it’s something and then whatever I’m lifting doing landscaping if there’s interlock jobs planting trees, etc..
Commitments ‘scared’ certain people, not all, but definitely the majority of society especially today. Word to the wise from an old dude, if you’re afraid of a commitment, well heck you definitely need to grow a spine, a wheelbarrow full of confidence and boatload discipline. You don’t need anyone or anything, whoever you are you were born with whatever it takes, just get off your ass and get after it every single day of your life. It’s really that simple.
@Jockopodcast, thank you for another inspirational year, filled with lessons learned, advise and leadership trough example! I have a question, namely, do you have any tips on how to write a compeling story or narrative? Would be keen to learn Jockos tips and thought process when it comes down to writing a new book or story. All the best and have a great 2025! DEF4life!
Jocko, how do I handle friends? I'm a no nonsense guy. I wake up early, never have excuses, I do what I say. My buddy is always late, wants to chill till late, no goals, no brain, makes me sad to be around. I don't want to create animosity or tension by ignoring his texts but I don't want to be around him any more. How do I handle it? I don't want to tell him off or talk down to him. Edit: I only have 2 friends. One I go to Muay Thai with and do activities and he's the one I hang with.
@StayTrue1710 Thanks. What I mean by no nonsense is that I hold myself accountable for all of my issues, I never have excuses and I never feel sorry for myself. Judging by your tone. You are a female, single (You have been with at least 10+ guys in 2024) and you are prolly in your 20s. While you did a great job of "putting me in my place" it showed me 100% that you had no intention of helping me and you shouldn't have to. But please don't tell men how to feel after you tell them they're nonsense. Now you may have had no intention of helping me, but I am not a POS, so I hope my advice helps you interact with men. A. Don't put people in their place. No one ever benefited from or said "hey thanks for the unhelpful and vulger perception you have of me". B. Never tell anyone how to take or feel from your actions. It may have been cute in your gender studies class assignment, but it is emotional manipulation. All you had to do was ask what I meant by no nonsense, rather than throw up red flags at a masculine phrase, us guys, use sometimes when speaking to other guys. Happy New Year!

@SevA-p7z dude. You sound like you have some serious personal issues you need to work through. A lot of room for growth and maturation. Don't act like a punk, and never make assumptions. Humility goes a long way.
nothing wrong with chips just don't eat them too much or too often... but a few times per week is fine. If yu want to have better / bit healthier chips then buy organic and or cooked with better oil. funny enuf i'm bout to eat some potatoe chips as type and then watch the rest of this jacko vid.
You know I have made commitments and followed through with them. And as doing so when I make good with my commitments they were not good enough so I'm going to commit to something that a lot of people wouldn't commit to
You sould be scared of commitment, because if it classifies then its something important enough that it deserves a true respect and fear of failure. You should be scared of having kids, so you make certain that you're ready to dedicate yourself to those children. You should have fear, just dont let that paralyze you.
