  • Doing the Best we can to Maintain with NO Rain in Sight!! We got maintenance work done today on the golf homestead around our diy putting green. With no rain in sight we can’t get any seed out but we start preparing by mowing our backyard putting green so that we are ready to seed. We are trying to get work done to have the backyard golf hole ready for next spring, but we desperately need rain!

We got about 20 minutes of a light drizzle yesterday, but that’s about it. It will likely go from no rain to too much rain soon…🤣

Hi just started watching your content your green is artificial, what’s it like when the ball hits from a tee shot. What artifical grass did you use

I used the following turf...turffactorydirect.com/product/tfd-birdie-putt-elite/ From outside about 25 yards, it's like landing on concrete. If you want something more receptive, you need a turf with heavier face weight, and with fibers of about an inch and a quarter. That is a much more expensive turf and requires a lot more sand infill which continues to increase the cost. You would also want to use a padding underneath to absorb the landing better. Even with all this, you would still need a much bigger green than I have to be able to hold a 100 yard shot. Thanks for following!
