      Dude same. I’m not a maintenance worker, but a treat laws for a living and I always see the most beautiful sunrises driving to work in the morning. I live in Kansas and we’re known for our sunrises. I don’t necessarily love the driving part of going to work in the morning, because there’s always traffic 😂. The sunrises make it a whole lot better though.

    I've been on my course since 07. Pay was mid until I got promoted to supervisor. Hard work, man. Now that I'm the mechanic without training and dude who aerates, it's often times a real chore. We mostly employ elders to work part time to mow, so my equipment operating time is almost nill. But, I love my course.

      @@tk-unc its a 9 hole with one greenskeeper. So far im working on the course from the top down to give immediate results for the play... I've mowed greens for one season... I need a pesticide and herbicide license, basically going to be a jack of all trades and try to make it work, the owner is confident 😅 as long as i don't kill an entire greens grass, I think it'll work out.
      I will though be diving into a lot more research into agronomy and soil based science. I saw the greens, blue fertilizer, in the rays of the inner wood that I cut a branch off of, to open up a greens approach shot. Seeing how the positive energy flow of water up a tree from photosynthesis raised the greens nutrition into it, gave me some cool sense of pride, i definitely know some, but im going to be very eager to learn. Plus its a small town, its free rent and utilities on the golf course... just to pour my heart and soul onto it.

    Just wondering why you do not rotate tees on a daily basis, when you put the markers back you put them back in the exact same place. You have yellowing grass underneath them which indicates they have been in the same place for at least 3 days, we move them daily. When mowing with a triplex or fairway unit with reels, the machine is designed to drop the reels as soon as you clear over your boundary with the front reels you drop them and the back real will clear boundary without scalping. I mowed for probably 5 years without that knowledge, alot less stressful when you know that. Good video overall.

    Hey bro. I'm a john too.
    I've been working at golf courses on and off since 1996.
    Worked at the royal ottawa golf club in aylmer quebec and les vieux moulins and now at rivermead golf club cutting fairways. Plus other stuff, of course.
    I've pretty much done everything except rough machines.
    Did tees with a triplex, aprons and approaches also . raked, fixed and made sandtraps, edges. Made tees, lots of greens . Walkers, fairways mowers toro 5500, Jacobson LF510.. etc.
    My resume is long lol.
    I'm just curious about your oerimiter or cleanup cut, because if you do it last you will catch any grass your reels or rollers might dump as you lift or lower your reels.

      @@fairwayjohn6336 in all seriousness, how often do most golf courses change out their greens mowers? I know it probably varies from course to course, but just generally. I live in Lafayette, LA and we have probably a dozen golf courses in this area. But I've never seen an auction or a store around here that sells the used course equipment. I'm trying to get my hands on a greens mower, but I'd prefer to avoid having to drive to west Texas or south Florida to get one.

    My golf course is Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina. We have champion bermuda on our fairways and greens. The course is also the home of a PGA Tour event named the wyndham championship. The only thing i wish the mowers would do is do stripes in the fairway. Instead it’s just all one pattern. Why do you think they do it that way?

    • @fairwayjohn6336
      @fairwayjohn6336  3 роки тому +1

      That’s awesome…hosting a PGA event. Dang! We burn our stripes in which takes years of mowing the same direction. It’s more noticeable during certain parts of the year…right now we are doing aeration, etc…

      The fairway mowers do have the boxes, however these triplexes don’t. Why? No clue...I’d have to ask the superintendent that. Safety boots are actually a good idea. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
