this is the most xiu xiu song ever and yet with it's simple velvet underground esque guitar part sounds unlike anything else in their oeuvre. for me, this is the album standout and deserves to win xiu xiu many more fans and accolades. xiu xiu are of niche appeal but are one of the few bands out there who are capable of saving a life. genuinely. this song will save lives. it's raw, sad, pathetic, vulnerable, disturbing, funny and unapologetically human. in short, it's nigh on perfect

Shit, I felt like I might just up and die near the end there. I feel more vulnerable for just having heard it. None of that is bad though, it's certainly impressive. This was me listening to Xiu Xiu for the first time. I will be exploring further.

Tiny MusicCritic Such a pretentious review... This couldn't sound any further from a Xiu Xiu song if they tried. It has STRUCTURE it's probably the most structured song they've ever written/produced. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's great. The album is fantastic and luckily it doesn't all sound like this. But, this SONG does not encompass who Xiu Xiu is, it's more of what Jamie Stewart has become. See, I got into Xiu Xiu when Knife Play came out I was 12 at the time. I grew up listening to Xiu Xiu, this song does NOT sound like Xiu Xiu.

I feel like Xiu Xiu is going through a major reawakening with their last few projects. It sort of reminds me how swans started out really dissonant and unapproachable, then kinda were all across the board stylistically, and for their more recent projects put everything they had ever experimented with into one really solid project. This sounds like A Promise, Le Foret, Fabulous Muscles, Angel Guts: Red Classroom, and Dear God all put into one song. High hopes for this album!
