The Tama River flows across Tokyo, but in Akishima City you can see a slightly unusual sight.
There is what looks like a herd of cows in the middle of the river.
This is called a cow herd topography, and was exposed when a 1.6 million year old layer of rock was eroded away.
It is a precious sight that only exists in this place, but is not well known.
Much of it has been destroyed in river improvement works in the past,
and what remains now will be eroded by the river's current and will all disappear in the near future, making it a fleeting presence.
I have filmed this cow herd topography before, but this time I filmed it in high quality 4K.
The sound quality was also improved by using music production software.
