I'm going to Slovenia to check these hives out. I'd love to build one of these houses. I'd like to know more about swarm management and varroa control.

    Hello,
My name is George I live in Naples, FL and I work as a handyman. One of my hobbies is working with bees - I love bees! I've owned a beehive from 2019 and I've only worked with Longstroth beehives.
I saw a UA-cam on your channel from when Kathy & Lou hosted you. I've very interested in the Slovenian beehives. The Slovenian method seems to be the best out there. I'd love the opportunity to visit Georgia, meet Kathy & Lou and see the Slovenian Beehives in person.
Could you please connect me with Mr. Lou, by any chance?
    Many thanks in advance!

I am in the planning stages of starting up a Slovenian beehouse/AZ hives. I plan on using that in areas where bears are prone to mess with hives. Hopefully that helps fix that problem.

Bears were my big problem. No problem since I put up the beehouse.

It's true what he say but very prolific swarm fill this hive very quickly then they start to swarm. With Dadant or Langstroht hive you can give more honeysupper. Here in Southitaly if I use this kind of hive I will only run behind my bees because they swarm and swarm and swarm and i use ligustica. And you will have less or 0 honey. In good years my hive fill from March till end of May 4 -8 honeysupper than June July other 4-6 honeysupper. Without tending to swarm this with good young selected queens. The third year they swarm because the queen is less prolific and produce less pheromone. I am only hobby beekeeper I do not move in different region begin of August I put the supper away treat them against varroa mite. Because of heat and draft nearly stop to breed its the best time to flight varroa if autumn is normal warm or hot but with a lot of rain they grow again to strong hive and fill the broodnest with honey so I feed very less but this is near the coast not in the inland and mountain. Our autumn flowers are arbustus unedo, hedera helix, inula viscosa and and . I hope my English is not to wrong.

You don't have to have all the hives in use - you can use some of the hives to deal with swarming

I think that they allow bees to go out but they don't allow them to enter the country ;)

you think right. each year lots of bees get exported to france for example.

well... actually 15-16% water is more common. 18% water for high quality honey such as some protected mars of honey wile in shops 20%. but thats slovenian law. no idea whats the rest of europe. when he says europe its actually slovenia when he talks about hives.

n mathematics, two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is the same as the ratio of their sum to the larger of the two quantities.
