Another nice restoration, your attention not detail paid off in the excellent result ! I came here for the Kenwood Mixer repair ( I have a KM201 to service ) and stayed for the tool restorations ! Liked and subscribed !
Nice work. It turned out looking really nice. I’ve a couple of these I need to restore. Watching this has made me push them further up the ‘to do’ list! Subbed!
I worried about the alcohol and acetone fading the markings on the wood but it looks like they're more durable than I thought. I have a dozen or more (mostly Stanleys) to clean up, hope they turn out as nice as yours.
That turned out quite nice. Thanks for sharing. Just a sugestion.....I wrap a piece of tape around the wood just in case it gets hit with the buffer. Thanks again and have a happy day!
For anyone using anything particularly agressive (think coarse wire wheel, instant sayonara to masking tape), soda cans cut to shape and stuck down on double-sided painters tape works amazingly well.
@@DaftOldMan I have an almost identical one, I am not sure about mine either , but I always guessed it was from around 1900 to 1920's since it belonged to my grandfather and that would have been the time he was a homeowner and buying tools etc. Nice restoration btw. I am a bit leary to do too much with mine

Good luck with your rules. I used as little chemical as possible.

I have something like this and what is its value
I do not think mine has any value. Just restored old junk.
How much does it cost ?
very little
Somehow it seems more than 40 or 50 years old?
Thank you for commenting. It probably is older than 50 years. I don't know for sure how old it is.

I thought it was called a sector
I did it myself with the Stodoys plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
