Actually super true, its lame how the netherlands and the kingdom are seen as the same thing for so many people including the people who live here in the netherlands. A different flag for the kingdom like the UK has would be really helpful and cool

      Thank you! Someone, finally!
Yes, the Kingdom does. I'm not sure how to go about, would the Kingdom get its own flag or adopt the current one and then European Netherlands adopts a separate flag, I'm not sure.
The same applies to the Kingdom of Denmark vs. the European archipelago plus continental part that isn't Faroe that most people would call Denmark. Although, there's a likelihood that it may just become Denmark as both Faroe and Greenland are showing increasing interest in independence, but we'll see if it happens within what's left of the decade.

@@OpinionesDeJACCsOpinions good question, im thinking maybe the kingdom just gets a new flag since the flag of the Netherlands is older than the Kingdom of the Netherlands. How would they do it tho? Maybe they can incorporate elements from the other countries into the kingdom flag, just like the UK has done. And the Union Jack is imo one of the coolest flags out there. I just think the other countries should get some recognition in the Kingdom flag at least
And for Denmark, i think perhaps yea they dont really need an overhaul because like you said both of Denmarks constituent countries show little interest in actually wanting to stay with Denmark at the moment. Of course who knows whatll happen, and perhaps an overhaul to the Danish kingdoms flag (or even name) that incorporates them both more (esp for Faroe islands, because Greenland is pretty certainly not staying with Denmark in the long run) could make them feel a little more included and united

You say that like if Scotland didn't do the same as Aruba!
Plus, the British flag🇬🇧 isn't the only flag Scottish folk could use to identify themselves. Hence 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, which predates the UK.
All I'm saying is that the flag of the Netherlands (European & Caribbean) and the Kingdom of the Netherlands shouldn't be the same one. It's confusing.
Tell a Scottish person that they have the same culture as the English and see what happens.🤭

The country of the Netherlands has certain parts of itself in the Caribbean, literally the point of this video that we're commenting on.
      The Kingdom of the Netherlands🇳🇱.
      Aruna🇦🇼, Curaçao🇨🇼, Netherlands🇳🇱, Saint Martin🇸🇽.
Then the country of the Netherlands has Bonaire, St. Eustatius, and Saba. Or the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribbean_Netherlands
I understand that Aruba has an international personality, but so does England and Scotland, so does Hong Kong, among other places that aren't sovereign and independent but have internal autonomy.
My point is that the flag of the kingdom and the country of the Netherlands shouldn't be one and the same. I don't really care about it being a combo of all the constituent countries' flags or whatever as long as they aren't the same.
I do understand your feelings on this, but think of it this way, what if the flag of Aruba was the same one as Oranjestad, yet when trying to separate Oranjestad from Aruba you couldn't because they have the same flag!

Please take a trip to each island and get first-hand information instead of spreading misinformation. The Netherlands Antilles has never decolonized a fact that was recently discovered when Pro Soualiga from St. Martin (the island's official name) took the dutch government to court. which means that none of the islands are decolonized and are still colonies of the Netherlands and not countries or municipalities. Why do only dutch politicians sit on the kingdom council of ministers if the islands are decolonized and are equal citizens?
Please take a trip to each of the islands and discover the history for yourself and how the citizens are treated even though they carry a passport of the kingdom of the Netherlands. Do not rely on the misinformation of history books that were whitewashed.

    • @__Timmerman__
      @__Timmerman__ 2 місяці тому

      What are you on wokey?
The islands are literally decolonized and the citizens of the islands chose for being atonomous countries within the kingdom of the Netherlands, meaning that for the most part they have their own rules and laws. And for being autonomous countries I'd say the citizens are treated very well, getting Dutch passports and being citizens within the European union whilst not even being under Dutch control or even living in Europe.
And also, you mentioned that this Pro Soualiga took the Dutch goverment to court but you fail to mention what he even took them to court for in the first place. And why does the fact that this person took the Dutch goverment to court mean that none of the islands are decolonized? They are quite literally internationally regocnised as Independent countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands which consists out of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the Netherlands.
What is written down in the history books has got nothing to do with race, I don't get why you would assume this having anything to do with whitewashing and racism.
Also, don't know if you thought about this but, maybe the reason why there are almost only Dutch politicians in the Council of Ministers is because they talk about the Dutch government policy there? And Aruba, Curacao and Sint Maarten have multiple seats for their ministers there during a Rijksministerraad meeting to discus issues within the whole kingdom of the Netherlands there. So your point about only dutch politicians being there is complete nonsense because the carribean ministers are also present during meetings.
So please, in the future, don't spread misinformation and do research before you start speaking nonsense on the internet. Thanks.

Officially seen weed is illegal in the kingdom and country of the Netherlands but as long as you have 5 grams or less the police will let you have it, this is because it is not a dangerous drugs and helps people to relax or to be used as pain relieve. Another reason is to make it harder for dealers to make money and therefore less attractive to be a dealer!
