Most players hate being hit by the ball but you've gotta realize that sometimes targetting your opponent is a good tactic to win the point. It's dirty but sometimes you shall play dirty to win
I mean, if it's going after the opponent when there's a dozen other places to hit the ball, that's dirty. But if they're just camping the net and you're kind of out of options, I don't see a problem with going right at them.

This is how much arrogant and disrespectful Novak is, he hit Roger hard but not even bother to apologize. On other hand, when hit by Nadal, not intentionally, he got furious to Nadal and didn't accept Nadal's apology.
If you see carefully he did in fact apologize. He raised his hand as he was turning away, that is the common gesture players use.
Why is it arrogant and disrespectful not to accept an apology? Not to mention that at the end of the match he was a good sport about it.
First, after the match novak apologized to rafa for his reaction, also there is a difference if someone aims to hit you in the face.

Watched most of these, but didn't see this one where Roddick's serve bounced up into Nadal's face at the 2004 USOPEN. ua-cam.com/video/e9LJuaznzfY/v-deo.html. A bunch of examples of Lendl hitting his opponent would be good ones as that was one of his go to shots when his opponent was at the net.

Some of them are absurd. Tennis players can target at the body, ma there should be a limit, you can't do it with full force if you have so powerful shots. Like Tsitsipas with Alcatraz yesterday.
It's pretty obvious to me that most of the times they do it on purpose so the opponent's has like no chance of returning the ball back. Most of the times when they hit the opponent they have like all the f*cking court to place the shot but they hit em anyway, that's why it triggers me so much that they apologize, it's like "dude if you're gonna do that and almost everyone does then don't be hypocrite and don't apologize and just play accepting that doing that is accepted in the tour".

Mens doubles is especially hazardous! they shd wear helmets (head injuries can b permanent) and frontal personal protection (but not to the extent of the seigfried n roy costume ones! yikes!). Although my husband and I won a mxd doubles event in 2017 (city club over 200 members) I dont like even playing mxd doubles any more as its too dangerous for the females. i now play ladies doubles and teach/coach younger and adult players...very rewarding...
So, to win in doubles you just need to hit your opponents. Doubles is so bad

Yeah, I got nailed by the ball playing doubles before. My partner was receiving and I focused on the girl in the stand. Then the first serve hit me direct near my junk. Not only we lost the point, but I had also bruised both my inner thigh and my ego. 10 years later I did the same thing. My manhood never learns. only the shade, so my wife doesn’t know my eye balls are rolling to check.
