Housekeeping tips: How to make the perfect hotel bed

- Hotelier Middle East visits hotels around Dubai in search of industry experts from the housekeeping field. In this first video of an ongoing series, Fazmin, room attendant at Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City, Dubai, shares his expertise and tips on how to make the perfect hotel bed.
So I decided to be a hotel housekeeper for an adventure. To know how its operated behind the scenes. I will never be critical of a housekeeper again. They deserve every penny they make and than some. Plus tips. Good tips. From the second they open the door, to the second they mop themselves out of the room and close the door. I applaud the housekeepers.

Always respect the Hotel staff beacuse it is one of the hardest and tough job to clean the mess made by others !! They desrve respect and appreciation.
The way he inserted that duvet was simply magical! The key to a good comfty bed are getting the good pillows and duvet insert. Get down filled if you can.

I know it’s in ff, but the way he did that duvet, I could never. It takes me like a hour to get it right😩
Housekeepers don’t get the credit they deserve
looks like: 0 fitted sheets, 2 flat sheets (1 tucked under the bed, 1 untucked folded over at the top of the bed, duvet cover with comforter inserted inside, then the pillows inside the pillow cases. A slightly different style than some other hotels that use tightly wrapped burrito style bed making. I like this style better since it’s simpler and less to undo when bedtime arrives.
Was surprised to see how he folded the second flat sheet at the foot of the bed 😮 Do you reckon this is better?

I can relate to this. So stressful & i got pain in my foot cleaning per rooms for 20mins.

One sheet in the bed tucked then add another sheet dont tuck add duvet just below the line of the top sheet add another sheet on top of that use the other sheet to cover the duvet and the third sheet then tuck the ends go at the bottom swing your arm under the bed to tuck the bottom of the sheet then fold the ends then tuck and make it tight at the Hilton
Here a tip form me always make sure to have a bed and bedsheet like them and room too

Just a comment. I clicked on 3 separate fast bed making videos, and every one had a male attendant. I was an engineer for 40 years, retiring in 2012, and was all over the world for my job, including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Munich, Dresden, Italy, Taiwan, Philippians, Japan, Hong Kong. Through ALL of those travels, I NEVER had even one male room attendant. I have, however, never been to Dubai, so maybe it's a cultural thing there??

I know this is late buuuuut!!! Here in Las Vegas as a housekeeper I work with a lot of male housekeepers…
First he places a sheet over the bed and tucks it under the mattress, doing hotel corners.
The he places another sheet over that first one, not tucking this sheet under the mattress.
Then his inserts a duvet into a clean duvet clover. Places that on top of the bed. Does a series of tucks, folds and adjustments to make it hotel standard nice. Moves bed back into place.
Then he adds the pillows.
Finally the runner and done.
The way u make the bed 🛌 is really good but to pull the bed and lift the bed to be more comfortable while we do our bedding not enough time. If you have 17 rooms is not good for your back... So ur tricks doesn't workout the way you did the bedding. We should protect our back.
He also forgot to tuck in the corners, their just hanging there lmao

I tried tucking my top sheet but it's too short. Which is weird cuz my mattress is only 10 inches thick.
This video makes no sense. Before he started working on the bed the text said “now, how to make the bed” except it doesn’t explain anything. It was actually sped up so you can’t understand a single thing he’s doing. Since I’ve already looked up other videos on it i can tell he’s using hospital corners with a flat sheet.

it depends, if 1 bedroom it takes 30 mins if 2 bedroom 1hr

I clean vacation homes. I worked in QA in aerospace for 27 years prior to cleaning. This is the most physically demanding job I've ever done. The first month I came home exausted and sore. I also lost 25 lbs. To the guests, please dont wad up sheets, blankets, and duvets into a big ball. Its not helpful. Housekeeping is under rated and under paid.
How much salary per month.

This is a horrible job I know I try doing this in one of the normal hotel in London ,my arm about to fall off, but I'm older now I don't have the strength to do it any more, however I did do room attend in the old days they didn't have duvet they have blanket it was much easier then duvet.
This guy should get paid by the bed, and not by the hour. He had that bed made in under 2 minutes! It's great that he can make 30+ beds an hour, but could he explain how he does it? I'm still on the fitted sheet!

I'm sorry people but, a bunch of naked sweaty people sit on those arm chairs. Housekeepers either keep your "clean sheets" on those arm chairs, OR, the bad ones just leave your pillows on the floor. For this reason, I always pack my own pillow cases to place on top of those pillows.

She means you have to tuck in more not just tuck in one sheet. In the video he only tucked in the first sheet. Some hotels everything is tucked in including the duvet
