I been a HK for about 6 yrs. I'm athletic AF but I still cant get my times to improve. My rooms are exceptionally clean but I know I'm working harder not smarter. Hence, what brought me here.
3 day of housekeeping, apparently I'm slow. Expector wants detail but fast on LG rooms. Was Given 11 rooms in 5 hrs. Housekeeping is not easy at first. Pretty educating for those who wonder how this work is done in the role that it needs to be pretty well near perfect to satisfy the hotel manager and the guests but an a employee to better yourself if you want to move up in position or perhaps you want to stay in the same position and like your job 👍
In high school and college, I cleaned houses, hotel rooms, resort condos/townhomes. This is honest hard (good) energy work. We do it everyday in our homes, don’t we? Thank you for your video❤️maybe keep passcard out of the way (toilet😎)
I got housekeeping job last Friday because I lied I have 3 months of experience, I'm afraid I might fired in the first day but I will try, wish me a luck tomorrow is my first day 😅
I got to admit housekeeping IS NOT for everyone. It's physically hard & demanding. Sometimes you need to clean a check out in 30 mins or less (sure that time sounds like ALOT) but when you have alot of messy rooms that time feels very short. I've already seen like few people quit already.
True specially if u clean 5 stAr hotel damn ur back is really painfull. Room is so huge Got 2 large beds, got extra beds, got childrens bed , got living room and dining room some more and 2 bathrooms. Omg I just try to work as a part time for money and also for the experience and i quit after 4 days! 😅 Thats why Housekeeping jobs in hotels mostly they hire foreigners because no locals can work longer. Its super tiring job and not good for health in the long run because your uniform will be wet and dry and your back so painful. Most of the workers whi work for 10-20 years they keep coughing. Non stop work must clean 10-20 rooms per day. Must clean faster. No slow2 specially if busy. I feel like i clean the prime ministers room and toilet lol. Every thing , evry corner should be super duper clean! Honestly F&B dept is so much easier job in hotel compare to Housekeeping its a big NO for me.
When I'm newer, I also think as you did. Time by time, almost 3 years I enjoyed the job while my friend always thinking about the menu was made I just enjoying my housekeeping job with my trick and go back home before 5 pm always😅
And here i am applying for a housekeeping in japan or europe.. And i dont have experience in a hotel housekeeping, only in the house haha.. Now im thinking if housekeeping or farmer in japan hahha
Im working in hk 7years , I enjoyed it,u can take it as professional job,if u work hard ,there is a future. No work is big or small. Choice is hardwork
Wow! That’s great service!! Thank you for all that you do to ensure guests have a nice room. That is a lot of attention to detail and work for each room. I try to minimize messing up the room, because I like it tidy, and try to help to make things easier for housekeeping. Again - thank you for doing a great job every day!
I wish this video shows actual pacing in real work. Anybody can really clean well given ample time but in reality you are expected to finish one room in 25 mins. It’s a ridiculous job. They give you a 7 hour shift but they expect you to finish in 5 hours with 16 rooms. I’m quitting for my health’s sake. Unless u have the stamina, strength and tolerance for working under pressure, think twice in getting this job.
I did housekeeping two years ago I agree with everything you've said. I also started again at another place I LITERALLY QUIT yesterday on my second week training. The person they paired me up with was micro- managing me for no reason. once you know how to make the bed which I do, i dust the headboard first then make the bed. You can pretty much breeze through. But they don't keep you on the clock til your schedule time so you're either losing an hour or half... We were given 14 rooms and we already done four, it was only 10:15am and my co worker was like HURRY! HURRY! for what 😂 I need to make my hours. Idk it's just not for me anymore
You don't need qualifications certificate NVQ to do housekeeping, cleaning toilets and making beds you can have 4 to 5 days training in the hotel when you get the job. I was a housekeeper working for different hotels in the city of london for a top agency In london lots of people come and go in this career and 80% are all foreigners working as housekeepers.
Housekeeping is hard I’ve been doing it for 4 years now. And depending on which hotel you work for it can be extremely hard, I work for a business hotel meaning it’s a lot of one nighters meaning they stay one night and the rooms isn’t usually a mess HOWEVER we do get a lot of teams and families (wedding, graduations etc.) and that’s when the job gets hard. ALSO we do get pretty good tips and the pay is trash especially starting off. Also to my follow HK….do y’all think executive HK be stealing our tips before we arrive ☹️🤣
There was always just one person in each hotel I worked, who I'm pretty sure was stealing. My favórite tell tale sign is a Thankyou note with smiley face and no tip.
Crazy how much people do in a hotel rooms, cleaner’s should be payed more money and be respected more and school and offices cleaner’s and careers i know most single moms do this work like myself it’s hard work for less pay

Its easy if you have complete equipments and things..looking for missing items like linen or terry linen may takes time to complete the set up. Sometimes you need to get in the other room or steal on the other section for the stuff.. hahaha..
Anyone who works in housekeeping will tell you.... ASK FOR EXTRA LINENS! Housekeepers are expected to do so much within the hours in the shift. I can promise you (I worked in the hotel industry as a young woman)--We were told to not take apart the duvets, sheets, etc. if they "looked" and "smelt" clean enough to go unnoticed by the new client. So yea...ask for addition sheets, duvets, etc. and just do it yourself.
That is what my supervisor told me so. If in particular day too much rooms to do, u can ignore changing duvet IF it still looks clean. Irony but truth. Housekeeping is very tiring and boring work. U end up clean the same room everyday.
@@bezaleltinokunda8805 my dear having extra linens is the best thing to do. Why? I have busy days when majority of the Linens on my cart is soiled, most times the soil is at a very visible place and can't be hidden so it is a MUST that it have to be change Furthermore I dont take chances with my linens there should be no complaint from any guest that I give service to.
@@bloodbrothers1779 I can go with the duvets but not the bed linens. Why? Every guest have a different body reaction to another guest perspiration. At times a lit of guest would roll the duvet to the foot of the bed sleep on top of the linens, so I take no chances with the linens hun.
Can you imagine 20+ rooms all checked out and you have to change all the linen in 8 hours straight. I always change the sheet and pillow case no matter what except the duvet around 8 or 7 depends how clean the room is
I love housekeeping you get to have a laugh and chill eat in the kitchen as much as u can lol have fun with colleagues go skyving but especially it’s all about learning from the company and it’s emphasis in investment to organisation like hotels

It’s so stressful you have to get the job done on time 40 mnts to 45 (sometimes they spect you to take less mnts than that)on each room, some may be come with one bed some may be come with duble beds and two bathrooms if you just don’t like working under stress this is not the job for you,
I work as a housekeeper I get like 18 rooms sometimes is there any way to become fast at it like what is yalls rutin to get it done fast what slows me down a lot is the beds it takes me like 10 mints I hear it should take 5 what an how is it done some one any advise
You need more speed, and find a technique. Time your self and challenge your self that you should finish bed making lower than 10min. The change of your speed will not be notice at first but if you do this one day you will see it.

Lol but I wanted this job to help me to get in better shape. I love it. But I think the managers about to boot me. I’ll try this too. Thank you!
Thank you! Can you share more other tips so it can be get done faster? I will work as a new room cleaner, I also a slow person and still learning how to be fast. Your tips will be certainly helpful for me 😁
This is my technique as well!! I cleaned two rooms if they are connected to each other.
I been a HK for about 6 yrs. I'm athletic AF but I still cant get my times to improve. My rooms are exceptionally clean but I know I'm working harder not smarter. Hence, what brought me here.
@@petey75nyc same here only been doing this for a month, I’m looking to go down to part time cause I find that house keeping is too much for me
Wow that's a lot of work for housekeepers. Was always wondering how they do it. This is an insightful video. Keep up the good work!
3 day of housekeeping, apparently I'm slow. Expector wants detail but fast on LG rooms. Was Given 11 rooms in 5 hrs. Housekeeping is not easy at first. Definitely watch these videos to help you organize your cleaning steps. Make notes. Check your paper see what ones are kings and queens ans doubles.Stalk your carts well! What I noticed was cups was a issue. Always running out of them. Think easy not hard.
Thanks for the tips friend🥰
I was wondering if you like the job how’s was the hours ?
@@dystanysam9896 ima tell you I dislike it, laundry is a big issue where I’m at and they give us too many rooms knowing we’re understaffed I might have to go down to part time cause this job is too much it has it’s pros but it’s more cons then pros where I work at, every place is different
@@shutit4024 nah that’s exactly how my location is running too. Laundry is a nightmare. Time expectations is unrealistic to when there’s never any linens and other housekeepers half ass everything.
@sheenamarsh2229 im relate HK is not easy job
Pretty educating for those who wonder how this work is done in the role that it needs to be pretty well near perfect to satisfy the hotel manager and the guests but an a employee to better yourself if you want to move up in position or perhaps you want to stay in the same position and like your job 👍
In high school and college, I cleaned houses, hotel rooms, resort condos/townhomes. This is honest hard (good) energy work. We do it everyday in our homes, don’t we? Thank you for your video❤️maybe keep passcard out of the way (toilet😎)
I got housekeeping job last Friday because I lied I have 3 months of experience, I'm afraid I might fired in the first day but I will try, wish me a luck tomorrow is my first day 😅
How was your job going on???
Since then I have been consistently working as a housekeeper, almost 2 years
For me as room attendent is nice, love these job and i hope everyone return wokring after pandemic
I’m a Hotel Housekeeper. Thanks for the video!
Wow how to apply of hotel housekèeper mam .
Any vacancies for housekeeping mam ?
I'm housekeeper from Tanzania I love this job
Wow wow wow wow beautiful video my friend full support your channel
Thanks you
I got to admit housekeeping IS NOT for everyone. It's physically hard & demanding. Sometimes you need to clean a check out in 30 mins or less (sure that time sounds like ALOT) but when you have alot of messy rooms that time feels very short.
I've already seen like few people quit already.
I had to deliver a check-out room in 20 mins last summer and 15 rooms in a day.
True specially if u clean 5 stAr hotel damn ur back is really painfull. Room is so huge Got 2 large beds, got extra beds, got childrens bed , got living room and dining room some more and 2 bathrooms. Omg
I just try to work as a part time for money and also for the experience and i quit after 4 days! 😅
Thats why Housekeeping jobs in hotels mostly they hire foreigners because no locals can work longer.
@@nicoletan4489 Thank you for explaining that.
And here i am applying for a housekeeping in japan or europe.. And i dont have experience in a hotel housekeeping, only in the house haha.. Now im thinking if housekeeping or farmer in japan hahha
Thnku for sharing your video ma'am, ngayon meron na akong natutunan paano mag arrange😊
I was a housekeeper working for different hotels in the city of london for a top agency In london lots of people come and go in this career and 80% are all foreigners working as housekeepers.
plz help me i want job plz my father is dead i am in very prblms😢😢😢😢
@Lovexlove 1998 are u filipino? And do u have a valid working visa in london? Plss im interested. Pinay here
Can u ol please help me am searching for agent who can help me 🙏🙏

The hardest part is deep cleaning 😥
Wow good cleaners 🎉 go go go in life
This video make me learning so much how to do as housekeeping in the hotel
It’s very much challenging When need to ready back to back arrival room!
Exactly 😢😢
Yes that’s what one of my use to be coworker thinks that somebody was stealing our tips
Our managers daughter strips the rooms 😅 boy i sure can pick a job 😂
@@petey75nyc I haven’t got a tip constantly in over a year I’ve maybe got 5-6 tips this year

Nice video 👍,HK memang harus kerja cepet.kamar kaya gini masih aman, belum bener bener hancur 😂 kalo hancur bisa 30 menit lebih
Btw saya iri sama cara moping nya, ditemat hotel saya kerja mopingnya pake bathmat sambil jongkok-jongkok.bayangin aja 15-18 kamar nge mop kaya gitu, pinggang bener bener berasa mau patah malamnya.mau keluar semoga aja dapat hotel baru yang proper 🙏.
Apalagi kalo tamu yg bawa anak kecil 90% kotor parah 😂
Apalagi 25 kamar klo no magic bisa sakit pinggang mas 🤣

They don't make us wear those masks at my housekeeping job & thank GOD because I absolutely could not clean / work like that. I don't know how anyone even functions in those things? I quit my last job over the mask issue alone. But I love my housekeeping job!!
Masallah beautiful your vedio
Proud housekeeping here for 8years hard but happy 😊
Its easy if you have complete equipments and things..looking for missing items like linen or terry linen may takes time to complete the set up. Sometimes you need to get in the other room or steal on the other section for the stuff.. hahaha..
Longtime i work this job, like it
Anyone who works in housekeeping will tell you....
Lol. Hi.
Are you saying I should have more linen than I need for the room?
That is what my supervisor told me so. If in particular day too much rooms to do, u can ignore changing duvet IF it still looks clean. Irony but truth. Housekeeping is very tiring and boring work. U end up clean the same room everyday.
@@bezaleltinokunda8805 my dear having extra linens is the best thing to do. Why? I have busy days when majority of the Linens on my cart is soiled, most times the soil is at a very visible place and can't be hidden so it is a MUST that it have to be change
Furthermore I dont take chances with my linens there should be no complaint from any guest that I give service to.
I always change the sheet and pillow case no matter what except the duvet around 8 or 7 depends how clean the room is
Housekeeping very hard work i know iam also Housekeeping Jumeirah Royal saray i like my work....

How is it going???
It’s so stressful you have to get the job done on time 40 mnts to 45 (sometimes they spect you to take less mnts than that)on each room, some may be come with one bed some may be come with duble beds and two bathrooms if you just don’t like working under stress this is not the job for you,
I work as a housekeeper I get like 18 rooms sometimes is there any way to become fast at it like what is yalls rutin to get it done fast what slows me down a lot is the beds it takes me like 10 mints I hear it should take 5 what an how is it done some one any advise
reduce the same movement. try to spread the sheet in one throw.
You need more speed, and find a technique. Time your self and challenge your self that you should finish bed making lower than 10min. The change of your speed will not be notice at first but if you do this one day you will see it.
King size done in 7 min
If you ever worked as a housekeeper then it's almost impossible to give tip them when you are on holiday
