Another title option: Daily life moving around a kitchen as a short person LOL (I relate, I am 5'3") I climb, use spatulas and all sorts of things to reach top shelf items, etc. several times a day! It made me smile to watch. Excited to see this kitchen reno! Happy for you guys!

Something that really has helped me is a claw grabber tool with gripper material on the claw for grabbing items from high shelves and even picking stuff up that has fallen behind a couch or on the floor so you don’t have to strain yourself. It has a magnet feature too-pick up metal in tight or narrow spaces. When my partner designed the house before he met me he made everything high (He’s over 6 feet) I’m 5’1”. It really makes life easier. I also have a fold up mini two step thing.
I'm 5'5", my husband is 6'4". I feel you on short(er) & tall. 😄 My husband's mom is 4'10". He definitely took after his dad on height.

hey guys read up on collagen, a friend that's studying with the best told me it's not usuable for the body in this powder or pill form :) so she believes it's a gimmic to spend money and only a small amount of creams help the skin with collagen but not the stuff we take in

Yay! So excited to see the home updates! My husband, daughter and myself moved into our second home in May this year and we are so excited for future updates, so this gives me such happy feelings :)!
Don't know if this could be helpful, but during our kitchen reno we did a lot of grilling, toaster oven, microwave and electric skillet cooking. I don't have them, but an instant pot and hot plate could also be helpful. Helped cut down on a lot of eating out during reno!

You set a good example for other parents that are not constantly saying "NO" to their kids. Ivy was touching things and just looking at what was happening, many mom's would have said, 'Don't touch", you just keep on going. When you see them doing good things, draw attention to that.
So excited for you guys! Renovations are nice when they’re completed ;) I was just thinking it would be REALLY interesting for you to create a budget/finances video where you explain to your viewers how you guys budget, what your budgets are for food for your family, do you guys have student loan debt, how you got out of debt if you ever had any. People really enjoy your perspective on so many different topics and I think if you were to make a video about finances, it would be really influential. I remember you saying you are not a subscription person (and most of the world is) so there just one way you could help viewers understand why you budget the way you do and they could adopt some ideas from you ♥️

I can rcommend to do as many drawers as possible, so as you can see in with your height. I would also do not too many upper cabinets. Maybe you could do like deeper lower cabinets instead. We had that in our former kitchen and it is amazing what can fit in such drawers, you have also deeper countertops to put appliances like toaster. What we also did was a drawer with a plug behind (in the back wall). There is our coffeemachine. We can just open the cupboard, pull out the drawer and make coffee since it is plugged in. Could also work with waterboiler, toaster and things like that.
Those mugs you are decluttering would be cute as little plant pots! :)
Oh awesome! We are going through the home buying process and thinking of getting a smaller home and renovating it to our needs. Would you be comfortable talking about approximate budget requirements for the Reno? That’s our only question for our situation - how much will it set us back 😅

I'm currently giving away almost ALL of the clothes I have collected over the years. For one time I'm pregnant and can't wear some of it but almost none of it I wear at all. Over a dozen bags of clothes and shoes. I'll probably never get down to your level of minimal wardrobe but I'm buying 2nd hand from now on.

My kitchen is a similar layout. 4 skinny drawers (about half the width of yours), a narrow area to walk, impossible with the dishwasher open, a massive useless island that is only good for the sink and cutting and the two largest cabinets are corners with weird lazy Susan’s. Looking forward to when I can update mine!
Can't wait to see your new kitchen! How long will you be without a kitchen? 99% of our meals are at home so ordering out would be a treat but we live 30 mins from any takeout. Our appliances are almost 9 yrs old. Our dishwasher is on its last leg & our fridge has issues with leaking so I know all about problematic appliances 😁
This is the reason why I am doing my back yard first and putting in natural gas line for a natural gas grill. So I'll be able to grill when my kitchen is being done (2022).

I love looking at houses (I'm constantly looking at realty sites), so seeing a kitchen reno is pretty fun to me, especially because that's a huge exspense I don't know we will ever undertake. The design of the kitchen was definitely a little perplexing with all that wasted space on the side.

When my parents renovated their kitchen they used the bathtub as a temp sink and had a drying rack on the counter. Just a thought if you dont want to have to use disposable products
