Maybe Mysterio graded those ASM 13s. That would explain the illusion of a 9.0 grade.
I have a Batman 251 that received an 8.5 and looks markedly better than both of those ASM 13s. Ah well.
Buy, Buy , Buy....lol great video
These grades were gifts.
According to Wikipedia (I know, I know), the Kraven movie had its writer attached in August of 2018, so that bump for ASM 15 in the fall of '18 could easily have been tied to that news.
How is that not color touch on the AF15? Beautiful book none the less.
Hi Ryan, have you noticed, they fixed the grader's notes 😀
And the date graded! Yay! Thought for sure that that was gone forever!
Over all the trend is down. Good time to pickup books for some. I had my eye on a few but didn’t bid, just have that feeling we are going lower. I been buying some Batman and Detective. ASM 129 right now seems like a no brainer that book is way down.
Don’t forget the silver age curve!
21:45 My ASM 50 6.0 looks better than that 8.5 and no look at the back cover on that 8.5.
Hey Ryan, I hope all is well. Anyway, in general prices are getting to where they should be since Covid. There are still some books that will sell records.. just a few months ago I told you before amazing Spider-Man 14 9.6 sold for $50,000 on Comic Link. Go Collect has the value at $36,000.. my friends told me I should have sold my tales of suspense 39 8.5 during Covid because that was $100,000 or more on Comic Link. One of those was $120,000.. I got lucky because I only paid $5300. Thank God I didn’t buy anything during Covid probably because I’m not in the restaurant business anymore. I don’t have any money. I don’t think I will ever sell that Iron Man and my amazing fantasy 15 6.0 I will take those to the grave and I only paid $4000 for that book and I was offered $100,000 and I refused no marvel chipping. It looks much better.
If you have the money, I think it's a great time to pick up an Amazing Fantasy #15. It seems to have bottomed out, especially in the lower grades where a 2.0 is going for around $20,000 and a ,5 is at around $12,000-$14,000. It has come down more since the comic boom than many other keys. I don't know why so many collectors want to part with their copies of AF #15, unless they bought them well before the comic boom. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the big Amazing Spider-Man keys in high grade over the long term.
Personally, I'm hoping the price on AF 15 continues to drop down. It's not like it's a hard to find book. This and Hulk 181 are way over valued.
AF #15 is the Action #1 of the Silver Age. It's nowhere near as common as Hulk #181, and it's the first appearance of arguably the most popular hero of all time. It's not going down.
@@thomaspalmer6453 LOL I can always dream🤣
I hav the whole spiderman asm run!! Grabbed some big books a few years ago over paid some I grabbed recent but I deft feel now is the time to buy they deft came down I seen an asm 1 1.0 for 4500 I never seen it that low so the bottom may be now
Have you heard the potential massive CGC scam involving Pokémon Prototype cards? The fun never stops lol
None of these books are rare.
Yes, the demand is high for a popular character like Spiderman.... but people will just buy a cheaper copy....then they're stuck with a cheaper copy & the cycle continues down.
Then people are surprised that their book keeps correcting 🤦
Are you not using 9.0 numbers for the Amazing Spider-man #8 in GPA? There was a 5k sale in 9.2.
Enjoy your content...
The price of filming late at night on the fly lol. Yep, definitely clicked the wrong grade.
Why don't you figure in inflation? AS 17 sells for 3300 in 2002. That's 5880 in today's money. If it sells for 4560 today that means it has lost value.
If you buy a stock in 2002 and sell it in 2024 for the same price does the government give you a loss on your taxes? Yes it’s buying power is less, but you can’t claim it as a loss.
@@AutomaticComics Good point. But it just deepens the loss. If you bouight the comic in 2002 and sold it today not only would you be taking a bath but you would have to pay taxes on a nonexistent gain!
@@dtoueyThis is why the majority of comics are not viable investments. Assets tied to underlying cash flows like market index funds have proven to outperform inflation on average.
If you have the money, I think it's a great time to pick up an Amazing Fantasy #15 as it has come down so much since the comic boom. It seems to have bottomed out in the lower grades with a 2.0 going for around $20,000, and a .5 at around $14,000. I'm guessing that many of those who are selling their AF #15s now bought them well before the boom, or they're taking a pretty big haircut. I'm holding on to my CGC 2.5 for at least 10 more years unless I try to upgrade to a high-graded copy.
@@thomaspalmer6453 As soon as we get an image of Spidey in the black suit for a secret wars trailer every Spidey key is going to have a huge spike. That's when I'm selling my copy. The MCU reboot is going to be Miles Morales and AF15's will take a big dip when that happens. I'll grab an upgrade during that.
Great example here...3rd party grading is stupid. Except for Golden Age books. Even then...do your homework!
