    There was a repaint of the Grizzly the next year in the valor vs venom line. It was called the Night Force Patriot Grizzly! It had a cool jungle camo paint job and it is lot harder to find.

    At first I ignored this vehicle, because of fake treads, but after watching some videos, I got a 2 or 3 of these & made them my Joe's main battle tank! I got a Mauler with dead electronics & a couple of MOBATS & Steel Panther types to fill out my heavy armor motor pool!

    So many cool play features this one had, it would have been a sure hit back in the 80's, even if it only lacks the motorized gimmick both the MOBAT and the Mauler have.

    That sure is one beautiful tank! I've never seen the Grizzly before until now. Color me impressed!! Nice shooting skills on the Terrordrome there 'Wild Mike'. You got some excellent aim! Yo Joe!!

      Haha, thanks. I was going to go with "Cross Hair" but some guy named Don said it was already taken. :D Also check out the Night Attack Chopper for another cool Spy Troops vehicle that would go great with vintage Joes.

      Scott, if you like the Patriot, check out the "Night Force Grizzly" - Same vehicle, but with a woodland camo pattern!

    Glad you got the Grizzly, Michael! She’s more than worthy of any collection. I have both releases of the Grizzly (Spy Troops and Valor vs Venom). I love them!

    I never thought much of this tank when I was younger and saw it in the stores. But I did get one on eBay several years ago and wound up selling it and now I wish I would have kept it.

    I remember picking this bad boy up at KB Toys for a steal during their final clearance sales. I still love it, but I loved the New Sculpt line in general. No sight against the modern line, but the New Sculpt figures felt like a true continuation of the vintage line, and were accompanied by plenty of reissued vintage figures to sell the point. Wild Bill was an odd choice of driver, but there were plenty of other options back in the day. I loved how many figures that you could have ride on the Grizzly. Always a big selling point to me with any Joe vehicle. I loved that the action features weren't too intrusive. The inability of the turret to elevate was the worst concession, but hardly a deal breaker IMHO. Nice review. It showed up as a recommendation on my feed.

    Great choice, Hector! Thanks for the memories, and great job Michael :) This made me look up a vehicle we found on a flea market in the early 90's (I think?). Had to look up the name but it was easy, it was Warthog :D I loved that one back in the day.

    Another great video! This came out well after I stopped playing with my toys so it’s nice to watch these types of vids to see how the line evolve as I was going through my teens. I would have gone mental for something like this had it come out in the 80s.

      Solid review. I was skeptical at first, but that tank design & its feature set is amazeballs! 🤩

    My favorite tank. I own two of these bears. One has been faded by the sun and is the same color as the mauler tank so I bought some repro stickers to make it look more vintage. If you want to buy one make sure it comes with it's cannon. It's the hardest piece to find and the most common part missing. Great Video and thank you Michael

    • @MichaelMercy
      @MichaelMercy  5 років тому

      Thanks Jake! Good tip about the cannon, that's the most important accessory I think, like the head on a figure. Giving it stickers to look like a Mauler is a great idea since it's "the Mauler as it should have been" to me. :D

  • @smoothkirito
    @smoothkirito Рік тому

    The Grizzly may actually be the superior tank, as the motorization and treads on the MOBAT and Mauler were constant repair/play headaches. The seating possibilities are also superior on the Grizzly. The only issue I see is that the turret may have a limited range of turning, and that may be a downfall.

    It's like the Tiger II of GI JOE. MOBAT is the Panther and the Mauler is the Tiger. I could just see a ground assault force comprised of Grizzlies, Maulers and MOBATs traversing the battlefield. The faster Maulers and MOBATS taking point while the Grizzlys thunder forward and assist with picking off anything the Maulers and MOBATS flush out.
